kia is just ugly, phil is small and the wolf is best imho..... and i would rather see kia win after watching generation iron phil seems to be quite the dbag.... no humility is ugly to me. anyway im just gonna see who won tomorrow im tired and sick of the politics of olympia.

Mostly all of them were off. IMO... 212 division made the open class look like amatuers. Lol
Phil is the face of BB. Put together well, appealing physique, blue eyes, well spoken, great family story... Everything Flex mag and MD and BB.com want in a representative of the sport, Phil fits the bill. He has no real competition other than Kai. Shawn and Dennis look great until the stand next to Phil. He looked like a freak on that stage last night and deserved to win. And he isn't done winning. He will win at least 2 more, maybe 4, or (don't say it too loudly,) he may break the record.
He is far from the greatest ever. Put him on stage next to Dorian, or Ronnie, or Haney and he would never win. But he is in his prime, against mediocre competition. Put that together with the way he represents the sport and plays the game with the sponsors... No one will beat him for a while.
Ace VenturaJust off the top of my dome here, but I believe Phil won his first at a younger age than Ronnie. That could very well make it more possible for him to break the record.

And I don't want to come off as a hater. The rest of the field looked great last night until Phil came out. His fullness and conditioning is amazing. Definitely deserved to win and barring injury, he will continue to outpace his competition.

I would have liked to see 1994 Dorian walk out there and watch them all go running to mommy. He would have made them all look small and fat!

Just watched the 96 German masters on you tube. Simply unbelievable. I like how in the middle of the routine he gives the "it's over" wave!
Lol I don't think he would make em look small but fat forsure. Nobody gets close to Dorians conditioning these days. He's the greatest IMO. Thay reminds me why the hell wasn't he there last night??
My favorite physiques of all time are 93 or 95 Dorian and 72 Sergio. Funny how politics stole the 72 Olympia from Sergio. Even Arnold said he didn't win that one!
I trained in the same gym as Dorian 94 and 95. They guy looked like he was made of marble.
When the young kids ask me how to get big I tell them the hard work is in the kitchen and to you tube Blood and Guts by Dorian. I still love to watch that iconic video when I need a kick in the ass!
I've said this so many times but that's so awesome I'm so jealous. I bet the atmosphere was insane. I always wonder why no one can get into that kind of condition anymore.
I think it was explained on a forum here and seemed to make sense that Dorian had built his muscle before using hgh and insulin. Then when he added that later it acted more as a finish not a builder. The guys today use it all along the way. That and no one before or after trained with the brutal intensity year round like Dorian did. Figures that what made him so great was also his undoing with the injuries that came with the crazy intensity!
I was still at university the first time I trained in the same gym as him, and although I was only 19-20 years old I was certainly strong for my age. I couldn't believe my eyes the first time I watched him train, the guy was an animal. It made me realise I went through the motions of "just lifting stuff" whereas this guy was making his muscles grow by beating them beyond belief. I've never seen anything like it before or since. In terms of pure bodybuilders, he's probably the strongest I've ever seen.
The other thing I always remember was seeing him getting out of his car at the gym with a T-Bone steak in his hand, taking a big bite and saying "pre workout breakfast!".
Don't think there ever has been a more humble and down to earth champion. I love hearing the interviews with Dorian. His training seminars are great to see. I like how he always states this is what worked for me, not necessarily will it work for you.
He's genuinely a really nice guy. I don't see him as much as I used to, but he always makes time for people.
What I would have gave to have trained in the temple when I was in the UK.
I personally like Rhoden waist/abdomen was untouchable, he's got the x shape that resembles champs from the past but is still slightly freakish. Wolf was incredible too, IMO Kai is not a pleasing physique and clearly Phil brought a good package but nothing like the last two years. Oh well, any judged sport with politics heavily influencing results will always be a toss up.

Have to agree. Branch looks odd, Dennis has zero calfs, and Kai doesn't have an appealing look. Like him or hate him, Phil has a pretty physique that is pleasing to look at so he can show up not 100% and still take it. Not one set of impressive calfs on the stage last night!
Not only does kai not have an appealing physique his conditioning was off. I'm not a phil fan at all but the best man won. But my god was he full last night he looked good, could have been leaner tho.
I don't like phil but he won fair and square. He's got the total package. He wasn't quite as lean as last year but still good enough to win. Kai was to heavy he wasn't in condition and he looked like he was holding a lot of water. at all idk why he can't nail it. I think he worries about the scale to much. I like Dennis a lot and he was shredded definitely the leaneast guy out there but he looked flat. And he literally has no calves what so ever. So all in all phil won fairly.
It hurt me to see Kai loose, but dexter and branch has always been impressive.
To me, Dexter looks the best this year. But Shawn has the most appealing shape. Phil will win.
