+ 8 Want your pro card?

ad

I'm selling them here, just send me 400.00 no need to work for that shit, pfft. Just kidding but really, if you want your pro card there are steps you have to take.....

Lets get this started, bodybuilding has different federations and different levels of competition.

  1. Novice amateur (these are city or regional events)

If you place top three at your Novice competition you then qualify for your final event as an amateur, which is National. Keep in mind Novice events don't pay, this would have to be something you love to do while you keep looking at the bigger picture.

You need to win this overall National competition, beating everyone in all combined weight classes in order to get your pro card!

Now your a professional bodybuilder yay! Well now you not only win a 12.00 trophy, but you also can win cash prizes. There is a fee, for keeping your pro card and it's usually just over 100.00 per year.

Pro's compete at state level competitions, national and even international competitions.

The benefits of being a Pro, besides just saying "I'm a pro", is supplement endorsements and you could charge a different rate while training clients. You no longer have to work at your Walmart and a vast array of opportunities open up to you! This is of course, if you keep up your physique, because no company wants a fat ass right.

Beware of shady offers for g4p and other sex scenes it's not worth it, unless your into that type of thing. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Ok so you want to be Mr. O?

Win a local amateur show...
Then Win your state show...
Now win you national show..(turned pro)
Now win your Pro state or national shows...
Then international Pro event..
Finally Mr.O

In essence, becoming a bodybuilder and maintaining your status comes with some very hard work and takes dedication! !

Don't expect big bucks from bodybuilding and if you are doing it for the money, your in the wrong business. If your doing it because you love it and it's your dream go forth and kick ass.

So who wants to become a pro?

WOW! That tripped me out..

I suppose you better get used to it! I think all of the Mods are excellent choices. Best of luck to you!

Its self-destructive to be honest............. not recommended when trying to build new mass.

(but you knew that already right?)

ANBRO's picture
Not building new mass... I'm currently doing a context prep routine. We have legs twice.. Low intensity on the day of HIIT training... Also, doing LISS a few times a week. No depletion for me at this point.

Are you both pro or just getting ready for competition?

ANBRO's picture
Both doing comp... However SC will be doing a show very soon then he will be doing a big one in November.

I went to see my first show last Saturday it was awesome. Just a few days ago I was saying I never wanna compete but after seeing the show I want to now. But that road to the olympia or just going pro is a long one hats of to the guys who make it.

sic26's picture

I don't think would try to chase this as a career ESP with no money involved not to mention it really is time consuming have family I'm just training now and trying to get enough sleep is crazy at times if I was serious about competing it would be no time for family I would still have to work not saying its impossible just would be a tough battle to win. oh and no money lol

Honestly bro you bring up a valid point kai green, Jay Cutler and Phil. ..Do they even have kids? I doubt it highly, but I'm not sure.

irongame427's picture

I remember dorian talking about this and saying it's why his first marriage fell apart. When he was competing he was 100% focused year round. Most guys take atleast a month or two off after the olympia but not him he was back jn the gym that Monday taking advantage of that rebound growth you get after dieting for so long. So ya chasing that dream or living the dream doesn't leave much time for anything else.

No way! Not me. I got tired just reading your post. Couldn't imagine actually trying to do all that for real and give up my ice cream.

WINNING's picture

I know, I like ice cream too much too, mint chocolate chip! Emm

I don't want to jack your thread but Sunday I did my normal food shopping. Anything gooey, muddy chocolate is my thing. Went by the ice cream isle and gasped. Turkey Hill Deep Dark Chocolate. Good news right? Sort of but it was "Limited Edition" which means once it's gone, it's gone. Called the wife in a panic and asked if we had room in freezer for 4 half gallons. She hesitated but clearly heard the desperation in my voice and said we do. : )

Yea, that's years and years of hard work man, but me personally I want to compete, maybe do a few shows and see how I do, then look at where I'm at and if I want to try and move up... But i for sure would love to compete one day

WINNING's picture

Yea, they have a Npc show coming up next month in my area! I'm excited to go. Alot of these show are at local high schools, but if you want to be a top banana you gotta start at the bottom of the bunch. Do it bro, you never know what you are made of unless you compete!

Bill6191's picture

Yea I've been to a couple npc shows, I really enjoyed them. I think for me personally win or lose, I just want to be up on the stage... Kind of like a bucket list thing. But I'm gunna go all out for it.... Go big or go home homie

WINNING's picture

Exactly, get in there and kill it. You may just get lucky !!
