ad

hey bros, i'm be honest, i've never tried crossfit. my boy swears by it.. but he looks like shit.. he claims its heavy lifting, intense cardio but, how come he doesnt even look half decent? . i had great success with heavy lifting and cardio (diet is always on point).. so whats the fuzz about? i tell him that shit aint gonna get you big or ripped. what's the truth? you aint gonna see my big ass doing crossfit but is he wasting his time?

I did crossfit a few times a week for about six months, and I never felt like I was in better cardiovascular shape. The basic premise behind crossfit is high intensity interval training, which has proven to be one of the fastest ways burn fat, and increase your vo2max. The variety of things the workouts encompass is great, but for all it does right there are just as many things that make me cringe. The high weight high rep schemes are ridiculous, and so is the highly competitive nature of the "x amount of reps and such for best time" workouts. That's what leads to injury. The uneven ratio of coaches to clients for many big crossfit locations is unsafe and unfair for the cost per month. I've tried a few different places and it came down to programming. The ones that run their classes more like strength and conditioning were much better. To each their own, as I lost interest and became much more focused on strength sports, powerlifting/strongman

Crossfit is an excuse to act like a jackass in the gym...

I don't think it's the best way to get big or lean but it's probably possible. And I also don't think olympic lifts are meant to be done in sets of 50 then straight into another olympic lift for another set of 50. Form would slip an it's an easy way to get injured. I think crossfail is the fast track to a torn rotator cuff.

Some of the most aesthetic dudes I know do crossfit. They are not big guys but they manage to stay lean so I feel like they get lots of puss, which makes me jealous

I love crossfit because they're are less knuckle heads in the weight room and more things available without having to wait around all day on someone sitting on the bench diddling with their iPod.

I have a buddy who does it and he looks great, but he used to be a body builder back in the day as well. There are some folks at my gym who do it and they look pretty good for the most part as well. I just think it depends on the person. I enjoy watching some of the competitions on TV. Some of those workouts would put me under.
