You guys ever throw up / shortness of breath from deadlifting?

Yesterday, I did sets of deadlifts 135x15, 225x10, 315x10, and 225 burn out for 25 reps (FORM>WEIGHT) , after the 225 burn out, I went straight to the trash can and threw up
and breathing hard, people were looking at me like something is up with me, is it normal to feel nausea after deadlifts?

  • throwing up kind of felt badass.....after throwing up, I went straight back to working out, and every1 looked at me like I was crazy (kind of a good feeling) lol

Deadlifts make me winded. But, dayumm legs now that's a different story. I'll literally lay on the ground in between sets of heavy squats Lol!

Yup! Leg day is often puke day. Before I started lifting heavy I love to run for distance and if I was pushing hard I was always puke at the end. Same with squats. When the puking happens it always seems to happen after you stop.

25 reps of 225 as your 4th set right after hitting 315 10 times?
Wow I don't think I could do that much, you must have an insanely high stamina because I get winded by my second set of 10 with 225 lol. Are you one of those pussies who wears a belt? jk aha but damn I don't know if I could do that much in one session unless I was going really slow and had some food and gatorade all at my convenience in between sets. How long of break do you do between sets? Hmm I need to start deadlifting more often lol

I recently just started doing deadlifts well a month ago lol but I have notice so much strength gains man. I squated 275 with no belt and didn't even realize it haha my back has become a lot stronger and I notice things that used to be heavy, are moderate weight now haha I am amazed at how strong my back and the rest of my body have become!!

I don't believe in belts unless doing low reps or maxing out. Because if you are using a belt with only 225 then you "ain't lifting hard enough" the belt is doing the work and your lower back muscles and core become lazy and don't need to work as hard.

Sure when going very heavy and only doing 1-3 reps then yeah a belt is good for safety, but for low weight I don't believe in it. If I can't lift it on my own then I can't lift it. I'm not a powerlifter so I focus more on getting good reps and a good stretch, not focused on using knee wraps, wrist straps, tight pants, belt and any other assistance just to hit some magic number.

I feel you bro, for me its more for peace of mind/safety. Yeah I don't use wrist or knee straps or nothin like that, just a belt for squats cleans and deads... to each his own

Just remind them, "If you want to grow, you have to do more". Next time it happens, just carrying a puke bucket with and keep training. THAT will REALLY freak them out, Mate (LOL)
