Blood Pressure Meds.
Greetings. I was wondering what your thoughts were on blood pressure meds. Not the OTC kinds but the prescribed kinds. Are these meds too over the top or are they G2G if you've got access to them? Reason being is that I'm prone to HBP as it runs in my family and being on gear has only served to worsen this malady. I have access to Hctz(hydrochlorothyazide), Verapamil, Furosemide(Lasix), Metoprolol(Lopressor), and Lisinopril. I've tried the Apple Cider vinegar and it doesn't seem to help, plus it rips my stomach up and turns me bright red for 2 hours afterwards. Anyone have experience with these meds? Recommendations? I used to be scripted the HCTZ/enalapril but no longer needed it after losing a ton of weight but do need it again thanks to the gear. Better safe than sorry right? Anyways what's your take on the issue? Thanks as always for looking.
If this is the wrong forum I apologize to our MOD team.

I take beetroot juice as well as celery juice for high BP. it works nice!!
My website
I am scripted Metoprolol for blood pressure and it seems to also work well while on cycle. No BP issues.
GearofWarSo, what is the reason behind HBP whole on gear? Is it simply due to fluid, electrolyte, and sodium retention? I'm not noticing any particular bloating so far and I'm keeping my estrogen in check with an AI so as to avoid water retention and the associated complications. Or is it because of the rapid increase in tissue size making the heart work harder to shuttle blood around to the areas in immediate need of repair? Just trying to get down to brass tacks on the root cause of gear usage and HBP.
Yes, water & sodium retention. The general consensus is that steroids increase blood pressure because of their sodium retention properties. Steroids inhibits an enzyme (11-beta hydroxylase), which can lead to productions substances in the adrenal glands, which increase sodium and water retention, which leaded to high B.P. This is why diuretic drugs help, because they reduce the water retention. You may not notice water bloat by looking in the mirror (for the most part), but it's an overall increase in water & sodium retention throughout your body, even within your newly swollen muscles.
GearofWarGoing to try the Verapamil extended release split in half. So I'm guessing that I should be able to see a measurable difference in BP after 5-7 days? If the meds are working as they should and that dosage is effective that is.
I could be wrong but splitting an extended release I thought was generally not advised. I guess if the pill were made perfect then it would be fine. Just something to consider.
GearofWarFair enough. I've got it in a 120, 180, and 360mg flavors. We'll give the 120 a go and see where it takes us. Any idea on how long it should be before I begin to see any benefits? Just curious..
I have no idea. Never taken it before. I'm not even positive about splitting time released. I just read it before but it might be medication specific. Have you talked to you doctor? Probably be best to tell him. I told my straight out I want medication because I don't like living on the high end of blood pressure range.
GearofWarI'm going to talk to her and ask for a real-deal script on something. I'm going to blame the highly elevated BP on my TRT. Because there's no way in hell I'd ever mention gear to my doc that prescribes me my TRT.
lol I hear ya. I basically told my doc. I've tried exercise, diet and nothing seems to help. He knows my family history so he agreed to give it a try.
I got the same problem, endurance sports help a lot, low salt diet, try to stay as lean as possible, stay away from deca, dbol and high dose of test, strangely var, tbol, primo doesn't seam to affect my bp
Good luck my friend!
I started Lisinopril about a month ago and it's made a big difference. I went from 140\80 down to 120\70
Sadly I have family history of HBP and regardless if gear I sat on the high end. They say HBP is a silent killer but it's loud and clear that I feel better all around. Don't get so frustrated easily. I don't feel like my face is burning up. I don't feel the pressure. I dealt with a little dizziness at first but for the most part it's gone. Once in a while if I get up to fast it happens but no biggie.
GearofWarSolid info, thanks. What's your dosing protocol? Ever since I started Drol it's gotten bad. Obviously the headaches are the biggest tell that BP is way too fucking high. I really like the idea of going the natural route but I feel that the prescription route is the way to go for me right now, as I feel like my BP is too high to take a wait and see approach with a natural remedy. And I have the BP meds on-hand so I suppose it's time to figure out a minimum effective dose of one of the meds I have.
10mg per day which is pretty small according to my doc. Ahh, the headaches yes those have gotten better also. I use to wake up on random days with bad headaches that would not go away. I haven't had one in a month!
Based on what you said your BP is down below, I'd say you need to get that in check asap or hold on the cycle because that will certainly make things worse. Playing with fire there!
I've been using beetroot juice forever bro, works like a charm
Im gonna have to get some of that.. for my BP I use Carditone and about 5grams of fish oil ED
GearofWarDoes it work as a natural diuretic? Aka makes you piss like a race horse? Lol. Thanks for the info. I would rather stay on an "all-natural" remedy if possible as it pertains to fixing this problem(as ironic as that may sound at a steroid website). My hbp is fairly extreme; at last test it was 159/87 I believe..
I pick it up at whole foods eow bro... I piss alot anyway trying to keep my body as flush as possible LOL
LOL!
