First time cycle
Hi guys. I'm new here and am in need of some advice. I'm 49 6'4 235lbs and 20% BF. I recently had a physical and the doctor told me that my test levels are on the very low side of normal for my age but just shy of low enough for insurance to pay for TRT. I lift weights and ride my bike hard regularly. I have some test-c and nolv and would like to start a cycle but being new would like some guidance from those with more experience than myself. I'm mainly looking to put on some muscle while getting my BF% down. Also I'm confused as to how to approach my PCT and need some guidance on that as well. Should I be stacking the test-c with something else or not given that this is my first cycle? Was thinking to maybe try test suspension in the beginning to kick start the cycle until the test-c kicks in. I'm competing in a bike race in 4 weeks and would like to have some decent results by then. Thanks in advance.

AnonI have to tell you I am on the other side of all the opinions here regarding body fat.
There is an age where if you have not been properly dieting and exercising that it is almost impossible to loose fat. Im not saying you shouldnt try, but let me tell you I tried and tried and tried with little or no success. When I started injecting testosterone was when the fat started coming off and the muscle came back. So yes I had very high BF % when I started using test, and now with that help I am down to about 14 % . I could not have gotten there without.
So if you were 25 or 30 with high BF, yes Id say loose the fat first, but depending on your history and now at your age you simply might not have success trying to loose weight .
Absolutely. In my 40's I have found it impossible to remove stubborn belly fat. Everything else leans out except the mid-section. Getting below 17% BF is ...I didn't know what to do.
If BF is an issue here, why not try some HGH prior to cycle? It's working for me. I expect to be about 15-16% before I start my test only first cycle. It should also help with other issues.
I'm new but just my 2 cents.
Novi, you have got me thinking about something I posted a minute ago in another cycle. Would he benefit from a short-cycle, short-ester compound?
AnonWell I think short esters have their advantages, but I think for the purpose of stability and dosing a test e cycle for 10 or 12 weeks might do wonders.
I started w 250 cyp once a week, then later split that up to an every 4 day injection.
I really dont think I could have started right off the bat with prop. The frequency of injections, the likely hood of pip . As it was the test cyp took a little for my body to get used to.
Hey Noviceaas, can I FR you and ask about your first cycle?
Hi Novice. I've been really strict with my diet. Since last November I've gone from 267lbs and 24% BF down to 235lbs and 19% BF. I've been stuck at this number for about 4 months now which was one of the reasons I got tested for low T. Thanks for sharing your experience.
AnonA plateau is normal in a diet, but 4 months is beyond a plateau. Id suggest a few cheat days or even a week, then return to the diet and see what happens.
I include 1 cheat day per week in my program and have taken a 2 week break.
I don't disagree with your words here Nov. the problem is there's a greater potential for problems due to BF with the op's age, and more significant problems should things go wrong with issues like high BP etc. A difficult balancing act for sure so I think there's definitely good value in your comment.
My advice to the op is drop me a FR and a pm and lets talk diet first and revisit this in 3 months. I'll try and guide you as best as I can to make some inroads with a view to a cycle in the future. Let me know if you want my help.
AnonYes agreed and I my self was aware in the beginning of my greater chances of having estro convert at a higher rate and watching the BP . But BP is a double edged sword, it can be caused by high body fat, doing what he needs to get rid of the fat might help that .
I think the propper advice though is to proceed with caution, there are too many voices just flat out saying NO until the fat comes off, and I dont always think thats true.
Yep, one size doesn't always "fit all".
You aren't too heavy for your height. Find out your BMR plus activity, get some BF calipers, dial your numbers in for a good macros regarding your diet and goals, and increase cardio by utilizing HIIT.
Eat the calories needed to maintain your weight plus activity. If you start to lose weight let us know. You may need to increase or decrease 500 calorioes per day at a time to get readjusted. You can adjust your carbohydrates in the form of breads, etc. and see your BF fall within three weeks with good cardio, as noted above.
Are you a diabetic? If you have some way to check your blood sugar, please do and post results. I have a feeling you could have borderline diabetes mellitus based on your stats.
So, modify diet, increase cardio, and get some labs for now, sir. Please do not attempt AAS use at this time.
FR sent.
Hi Med. I use body calipers and log my meals trying to keep my net daily caloric intake (accounting for calories burned during exercise) 500 calories/day below my calculated BMR but I've seemed to have plateued. My doctor has prescribed the test-c however I figured if I was going to go on the gear I should get the most out of it. The doctor gave no other advise except for dosage and frequency. I'm not diabetic as my blood work came back normal except for the low T.
This is great thank you for the info. I asked Novi about short-cycle, short-ester compounds regarding his experience for weight-loss with AAS. You have done exceptional with your dieting, as well.
Enx - You start your post by mentioning low test, but then end with a statement indicating you wish to see improvement with a cardio activity. I agree that you really need to research more, but before you do that you need to understand your goals. Are you looking for cardio improvement through elevated blood levels, muscle gain, or reducing other effects of low test (i.e. libido, energy, mood, weight gain, etc.). If you answer yes, meaning all, you need to rank your goals as this will influence your cycle compounds. If you truly have low test, your PCT is going to be even more important than your cycle. And you will want to preserve your nuts as much as possible while on cycle, so research HCG for both during cycle and post. Finally, since this is your first cycle definitely do not short cut your AI. Test Cyp will convert rapidly to estrogen and if you are even remotely sensitive you could end the cycle with a nice, painful lump behind your nips. Good luck.
I was told that part of reason I'm having trouble getting my BF down was because my test levels were so low.
I'd hold back, you cant do gear in such a rushed manor. I'd get the race out of the way natty. And in the meantime use the time to get more clued up test use and dosage, also pct as its essential. Likewise no mention of an ai either. Basically get clued up on everything and you'll be better for it in the long-term.
Just my honest view bro, use the search feature on here as any questions you have will of been asked before with lots of good replys/info for you.
Good luck with the race!
thanks Robb. I thought that Nolvadex was an AI? Is that not correct?
It is a SERM.... selective estrogenic receptor modulator, mainly for the breast tissue, which will prevent gynecomastia.
Anonit is not. prevents more estrogen from attaching/binding.. it doesnt inhibit it
Boooom.....fact right there............... +3 many still believe it is an Ai............. but some also still believe the moon is made from cheese?
what would u recommend?
Anonto wait on using Steroids and research more
AnonYour BF is too high to safely use steroids IMO.. you need to dial in a diet and get the milestones down before jumping on.
BigpapajuiceHonestly before I ran a cycle I would get my BF% down to at least 14-15% imo its to high right now for the test to be effective just my two cents
