The government is just to stupid to see a gold mine!
So I was perusing the gear pics and I couldn't help but think about our horrible economy. It occurred to me, again, that our government is just to stupid to see a gold mine right in front of their face. Blinded by all the negative steroid hoopla they've neglected to look into the amount of money being spent on gear illegally. I see people posting pics with like thousands of dollars worth of shit, and frequently. Obviously these rough economic times have not hampered them.
If our government, the USA, was smart they would legalize juice and reap the benefits of taxation to help bail out our muti-gazillion dollar debt... Not to mention physicians would be more willing to help monitor patients without the fear of getting into trouble for dealing with steroids. Sorry for the rant just something that popped into my head.

Yeah but hey lets legalize weed instead cause that make people more healthy right?
AnonWhen I went to the university one of the professors told me that all the illegal money was figured into the economy. He didnt say how they measured it but yadda, yadda, yadda. The drug dealer sells dope, pays his rent with illegal money, buys groceries, gasoline, car tags, etc. We are sending some of that money over seas though when we could open the market here.
the goverment will never legalize gear and this is my personal opinion. but i believe that in this country anything that legitimately makes you better is immediatley banned dangerous or not. the government does not want healthy citizens it wants fat slobs who just accept everything because they know if we are fat and lazy we wont fight back its why all these chemicals that raise estrogen levels in the body are still legal even though they are toxic as hell.
I agree totally ask your doc for penicillin and get some bs excuse that you should take the shit that doesn't work instead
The government works for the banks and they're already making plenty of cash from drugs.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-06-29/banks-financing-mexico-s-drug-c...
xub3rn00dlexI'm not sure if you've been paying attention to the financial climate these past few years, but with all the new regulations that are being / have been drafted, i think it's safe to say the gov't. definitely does not work for the banks.
Not looking to get into a debate here bro so we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one.
Seriously i mean no disrespect to you but you are delusional?....the FEdRes is a group of privately owned international bankers who own the united states, they control our money, along with the CFR, TRI Lateral Commission and the Bilderberg group...
do your own resaerch bec you look stupid when you make comments like you made above....i dont know maybe yr like 21 or something and are regurgitating what you were indoctrinated with in school...or maybe you work on wall street and are drinking the " dumbed down" cool ade to justify the corruption of the ENTIRE industry....idk but someone somewhere is feeding you a whole lotta horse shit!
xub3rn00dlexNo disrespect taken, and I likewise mean no disrespect but how can you say I'm being fed horseshit when what you are being fed is what? Free range organic truth?
The FRB is a separate entity than the US Financial Sector, so we cannot confuse the two for being the same. He made no mention of the FRB but rather the private financial industry, to which I was responding. I happen to make a living doing finance, so if I appear stupid it's because you are having a hard time seeing past the whole "Blame the bankers!" parade.
I was strictly responding to his comments about the government working for the banks, which they are in fact not. Rather they are making it extremely painstakingly difficult to do even the most simple transactions that are entirely legal and are entirely the purpose of banks. Do you contest this statement or not?
The FRB's role is to CONTROL THE MONEY SUPPLY. That is it's purpose, whether it be privately, publicly, or imaginatively owned. It's sole purpose is to enact monetary policy in accordance with economic activity to promote growth and regulate the amount of money that is in supply.
That is the point our country was never meant to be OWNED by anyone!
Woodrow Wilson was disgraced after he signed the Fed Reserve Act realizing that he ruined our country and that it wld never be the same and it has not! the only ppl making money are the big bankers...they control our country... you sweety are working for big bankers who could give a shit about the american ppl....look all around you we live in a totalitarian state....we are not FREE we pay taxes every day of our lives and to to who? the banking cartel..which btw the states never even ratified the " income tax" in the 16 th Amendment...so there actually is NO LAW that says we have to pay taxes....the IRS is another outside agency which is not part of our government....please for the love of christ stop reading the wsj and start reading books, and watching documentaries, and listen to pod casts...there is a plethroa of information you are missing...i can only hope you will awaken from the sleep you are in and stop being a sheeple bec yr prob a nice guy and deserve to see the truth...
xub3rn00dlexOur country is not owned by anyone? Lol
I don't even know where to begin to respond to this tirade. How did our discussion derail from actual analysis to the Occupy Wallstreet campaign?
To the interest groups in power, keeping steroids prescription only, is more profitable.
I agree but if it was acceptable to go to your doc and say I wanna get freaky big give me a prescription they would then make a killing
xub3rn00dlexAnd tax free, which makes their margins much higher
steroids being prescription only isn't more profitable actually. Steroids being patented is. By allowing anyone with change to buy their product they would make a hell of a lot more in today's society then requiring a RX for it. Look at medical marijuana - where I have contacts who have tried to obtain it that way they haven't been successful, because the doc's license is on the line. If I'm making any sense that is.
Of course patent owners play a big role in decision making, but I don't think anyone owns rights to say testosterone itself. Preparation process, solutions, branding, yes but not the actual compound. Can you imagine brewers going down for copyright infringements?
I'm willing to bet "War" on steroids/drugs/etc is more profitable than letting Johnny Bravo order his powders from china and brew some tren, while puffing away on his homegrown green.
xub3rn00dlexOh I have no disagreement with you there my man, I think what I was trying to say was just worded wrong. I meant to say that keeping steroids as OTC would generate more revenue ( and depending on costs ) i'm willing to bet more profit.
The war on steroids only benefits certain interest groups, and the one I have in mind is probably the biggest beneficiary - the private corrections industry. They clearly hold sway over the interests of pharmaceutical companies, as they would rather lock up users versus seeing these products mass marketed and freely available. It's really a game of tug of war between lobbyists.
Not only that, but you can go buy guns and weapons of the internet but I cant buy juice where bodybuilding actually keeps me in the gym out of trouble? And yet cigarettes, alcohol, and even pot is becoming legal, but I can't get gear? Makes a lot of sense.
I agree with the part about the physicians but the last thing Americans need is more taxation....we need to get rid of the federal reserve period the end!!
xub3rn00dlexUnfortunately I'd have to disagree there, what comes after that? Going back to the gold standard? Lol
you are being facetious right?
xub3rn00dlexNope, being serious here. I'm all for reforming tax codes and putting money in my own pockets so I can buy more juice, but the FRB is here to stay.
you do know the FedRes was started in 1910 and it is a private banking entity that controls our money and is not part of the federal government and that our currency is fiat currency because it actually has no value there is no gold supporting it... you also know the fedres is what caused the great 1929 market crash and you must know this is what our founding fathers warned us of if not.....maybe you wanna look into who's controlling our country and why before you sing ben benake's praises...
but this is a conversation for another forum
xub3rn00dlexOh absolutely I know all of this, and I have no disagreement with the clusterfuck they caused back in the 1900s. Yes I know our currency is fiat, and I'm hoping it stays that way instead of going backwards lol, unless you are willing to contest otherwise? While I don't agree with all of Bernanke's policies, I'd say his track record so far is pretty good... although I'm not entirely certain why he announced the pullback of his policies this early into a recovery... Everybody knows interest rates are set to rise in 2015, which gives them a certain date to work around, why on earth he'd let them go up earlier is beyond me. The FRB made the biggest mistake of this century ( pretty fucking early too ) when it allowed Lehman to fail the crisis as a scare tactic for the others. While I highly doubt the recession could've been avoided because of just how complicated the instruments became, it would have been a much softer blow had Lehman been bailed out.
NOW as to whether we should be bailing out private banks is a debate all in it's own, but SIFIs tend to be directly tied into the real economy because of how big they have become, and letting them fail is actually worse than saving them.
BTW, can I FR you? Very interested in what you have to say, and clearly we're arguing on the wrong forum as you have said
there is no recovery. the "recovery" is media hype to keep the sheeple quiet. we spend too much time saving the asses of the 1% for what? so they can get richer. the whole system is a big fat lie and inflation is coming like a freight train that can't be stopped. I feel sorry for people who have their heads buried in the sand. Bailouts and favoring big businesses are why this country is in so much trouble. they should all fail miserably.
xub3rn00dlexThe idea of the top 1% is also a bunch of liberal media hype, is that not quite obvious? The whole system has problems, there is no doubt about that, but crying about some 1% isn't gonna fix anything. Why not look at the 47% or so that pay no taxes and live off of our taxes and complain about them? See, is crying about that gonna fix anything? No. Or is it that those who do good for themselves are just easier prey than those who don't. And unless you can show me proof that inflation is about to skyrocket then I suggest we don't even bring that into this discussion. The FRB is doing a pretty decent job at keeping it around 2%, and if there were concerns over inflation believe me when I say wallstreet would be concerned, but they aren't. Nobody is currently concerned with inflation there, but rather with all these new horseshit regulatory practices being slapped together and put in place without anyone understanding a god damn thing they are writing.
And favoring big businesses should stop sure, but favoring "business" in general should pick up, because the way this country is being run is by punishing those who succeed at their businesses, and that is exactly why this country is in trouble, not because of anything else.
For now... But my wages have actually decreased, food is more expensive, The dollar is cheaper so we can sell things better overseas (but I can no longer afford to stay there). Non-domestic goods are more expensive. Personally I'm experiencing a 3 to 4% rate of inflation and only getting a 2% annual cost of living bump.
I'm curious however, our dollar is being over printed and devalued. How do you see us correcting this "temporary stimulus"? What do you see happening when the interest rates start to go up and the flow of newly printed dollars starts drying up?
xub3rn00dlexWell that's unfortunate considering my wages have actually increased, so I can't really say anything about what it's like to be in that situation. The dollar being cheaper is actually not entirely due to the FRB printing cash for the fuck of it, but more so IMO as a response to Chinese devaluation of the RMB, which seems to be one of the biggest foreign related currency threats to the FRB members... my guess is because they honestly don't have a clue as to how to tackle the problem, other than let it run it's course.
Non-domestic goods are more expensive by nature of a weaker US dollar, and this will vary accordingly year by year. Again, since my wages have been above the annual inflation rate year by year I am not experiencing what you are so I can't exactly relate.
Currency devaluation has been occurring at all times, regardless of the system, the presidency, the leadership in the FRB, simply ( and not so simply ) because increasing exports is the easiest way of increasing economic growth.
What do I see when interest rates start to go up? I'm honestly not quite sure, but I do doubt the mob when they cry about dipping back into recession and being able to not afford anything. Interest rates where always going to revert back to where they were before being lowered, and given that they are meant to rise when the FRB deems appropriate ( because of an "economic expansion" rather than the recession, make what you will of it ) I don't see much happening. Money will become more expensive to borrow, sure. But since the people will feel like they are part of an economic expansion, they will borrow more regardless of how high the rates get, etc. I'm curious as to whether you meant to target the question more specifically because it feels too vague to answer concretely.
seriously i highly doubt if you ask the mass majority of Americans if they feel like they are in an economic expansion they would smile all bold faced and happy and say yes....what country do you live in or maybe what dimension because its certainly not the reality of our current day America...and i like Greg, and millions of other americans have seen their salaries decrease...as of january 1 my monthly take home salary dropped another $140, after being decreased last jan 1, in addition to the next decrease coming july 1, meanwhile i haven't had a raise in 6 years ...so pls dont tell me we are in any sort of recovery.....there is no recovery and there isn't one coming! ask the ppl of cyprus or the ppl of the EU where it was just ruled that if a bank fails and you have more than 100,000 euro, they can clean out yr bank account and dont think this isn't coming to a bank near you right here in the good ol united states corp of Amerika
i could go on for days wait more like a year. but i think Oldheads post has been hijacked enough
xub3rn00dlexUnfortunately I must agree about the hijacking of the thread, and as tempted as I am to start a new one, the title is bound to polarize people and prevent the kind of discussion we are having here.
I do wish to respond to your post, but I suppose it's best to do it in either a new thread directly related to our topic or through PM. If you wish to continue discussing, and if anybody in general does we should definitely come to some agreement about where to take this
How do you figure going back to the gold standard is going backward? Being fiscally responsible is too old fashioned?
If you look at our national debt. it was on a steady and rapid decline post WWII. Then look how that trend reversed when Nixon took us off of the gold standard in 1973.
We will NEVER pay down the debt on the fiat system.
xub3rn00dlexLol imitation economics is wonderful isn't it? Anyone can slap a graph up without understanding and go LOOK LOOK! See I'm right. The reason our national debt declined after WWII is not because of the gold standard, it is because europe was a complete wasteland and we weren't, so our economy kicked into gear churning out everything from manufactured goods and services to financial goods and services, almost all of which ended up going to europe. But back on topic -
The reason we cannot go back to a gold standard my good friend is because the amount of money in your system is directly tied to how much gold a country owns, and given there is a limited supply that we know of there are only two ways to obtain more - from other countries or through new discovery ( which tbh hasn't been happening all that fast ) The gold standard limits the ability of a nation to conduct their monetary policy, and what happens when your economy demands a greater quantity of money supplied but you are unable to procure the gold to increase it? Economic growth gets stunted and grows at a retarded pace compared to policy that allows the quantity of money supplied to match the demand for it. Anybody who has ever read an advanced macro textbook would understand that basics of this, and why your graph shows absolutely nothing.
P.S: I know this is economical-political talk so I know these posts are bound to get / appear aggressive, so just as a heads up to everybody I don't exactly care if you end up convinced or anything, it's all for good debate and in good sport. If anybody gets offended personally, then I apologize for that and it was never my intention. I'll buy you a round of drinks if we were ever to meet
Don't mistake me for a fool. I know of all the nuances that go into economies and budgets.
The point which you fail to realize is that without the dollar being tied to some tangible, hard asset such as gold, silver, (or cattle for all I care); politicians will print money at will to avoid, postpone, manipulate, the most current, immediate, economic "crisis". The intent of the graph is to show our lack of discipline and political backbone in managing fiat money. Call it the human element.
EVERY fiat currency since the Romans has ended in devaluation and economic collapse -WITHOUT EXCEPTION.
xub3rn00dlexI didn't mistake you for a fool, if it appeared that way I apologize.
That kind of thinking is what bothers me, the need to "tie" currency down to something tangible. There is no need for this at all, and while I understand the risk of political economies printing money like there is no tomorrow, it's quite frankly a small risk that is managed on a global scale after the hyper-inflation in post WW1 Germany ( and yes I understand there has been hyperinflation since then, but to be frank the economies of those countries and their importance tomthe global economy is minimal compared to GER at the time.) There are better ways to manage fiat money and to achieve the same devaluation effect as printing money, without all the costs of printing money.
Every fiat currency since the roman times has failed, sure. And how many times has that occured and the fiat regime still is left unphased, whereas the pegging regime ( not only to tangible items but to other currencies ) has failed not only for individual countries, but as a system as failed several times as well. Pegging a currency is simply inefficient, and a hinderance to economic growth, which is why the fiat regime is adopted globaly today and the gold standard died with bretton woods, and will never be reborn - economies absolutely need the ability to control their own supply of money unreliant on any limited tangible good.
Now, whether there needs to be an institution with the proper authority to manage and penalize violators of competitive practices in regards to currency manipulation is something I am willing to discuss and agree on, and I'm sure we would be agreeable there. The problem with this is implementation, bias, and just how such an institution would have a means of penalizing violators.
btw heres just a few alternative media sources you may find informative
RT, Before its News, Coast to Coast AM, Infowars, Druge Report, Trendsresearch.com, Natural News, StevePieczenik.com, Ben Swann Full Disclosure
xub3rn00dlexOf all those I have sampled before, only RT and trendresearch i found to be of quality. Being the nature of my business, I stick to FT, WSJ, Economist.
This I can agree on... If there was an institution with the proper authority to manage and penalize violators of currency manipulation.
"Pegging" the fiat to some form of "regulation", or value point would be a good thing. For example only X% of dollars to current GDP can be in circulation at any given time.
xub3rn00dlexWell this is definitely a very interesting idea, pegging to an "idea" of sort, and I think given enough formulation and development it might actually have a chance at working, if there is of course agreed upon slack in expanding and contracting money supply given different economic conditions.
The biggest problem lies in empowering an institution to enforce this, as what exactly would and could they possibly do to punish violators? The generally agreed upon condition today is enacting sanctions, but these notions aren't exactly efficient at doing what they are meant to do.
You'll get no argument from me here... If only we had leaders with the moral fiber not to make it an issue.
Good discussion, you've made me rethink a thing or two.
xub3rn00dlexThank you
you've definitely got me curious about the "idea pegging" if we can call it that lol. I'm going to try to find more information about propositions like that or where that notion has led to. My assumption is it's more like a treatise like the kyoto protocol or something.
But again, we've derailed this thread far enough
back to taxing steroids!!
Thank you Greg thats what im tryin to tell him...idk how to post graphs and stuff so many this will help him understand....:)
If yr an Obama supporter than prob i dont think we should be friends....i was taught if you have nothing good to say dont say anything at all and i have absolutely fuckin nothing good to say about him and for the record I'm not a republican. if u r not then by all means yes.
xub3rn00dlexWell, if I was given the choice of having a lifetime supply of free steroids by shaking his hand, lets just say my wallet would be empty just the way it was after my last order.
And FYI, i'm not quite sure I belong to any party myself.
Gear is one of the last things I want the greedy fuck all government to have their grimy hands on!
no thanks
Ill give my donation to the people directly
FOREVR
Gator
They already have their hands in on it brother. If you new what I paid for a kit of pharma HGH at my HGH clinic you would shit. Or for a bottle of test for that matter!
that would generate chump change... kind of like taxing the 1% and claiming it will fix all of our budget problems.
tread-mAnd of course you and I are the crazy ones that think !maybe everyone should share a little something in the txes and pay for our hws and miltary and cut costs such as oh I don't know, half the poulation living off the other half? ! Lol
Its not from stupidity though on the govs part..all design. Slowly boil the frog.
If the government did legalized it, it would be a monopoly. Price would be too high to buy, and they would become the only source. Now if it was legalized in a "free market" with competition than that would be nice...nice dream
You want to fix the economy? Double income and sales tax and reduce social welfare programs by 30-40%. America might break even on expenses and debt interest, would have to go much farther to actually work out of debt.
The economy and the debt will never be balanced as long as we a fiat monetary system, even a flat tax wouldn't work. The paper dollar is created out of debt and thin air by the federal reserve. If we had a sound money system like a gold standard, which we used to have, than we could. But bankers and the Fed don't like that because you can't create gold out of thin air, neither can you inflate it. Even if you were too pay a million dollars a day it would take you 3200000 years to pay off 16 trillion dollars! Only way to stop the debt is to stop the debt maker, End the Fed.
X2
I wish more people would educate themselves on how the fiat works.
