sources of protein or protein only source?
OK, people throw around sources of protein all the time but a source of protein can include a lot of fat or in some cases carbohydrates as well, hence you may think you are dieting with sources of protein but may end up gaining weight because of the fat calories or carbohydrate calories that go with the source of protein you choose.
So here is a list of protein only foods that are void of any other macro nutrient to help you consume your protein without getting fat.
Egg whites
Chicken breast
lean Turkey
Cod
Haddock
Salmon
Tuna
Talipia
Shrimp
Liver
and while I am at it, here are some veggies sources to go with your protein only sources to create some ''complex carbohydrate free'' meals for people who are trying to lose weight.
Asparagus
Broccoli/purple sprouting broccoli
Cabbage
Cucumber
Onion
Spinach
Romaine lettuce
Tomatoes
Green Peppers
Enjoy.

I purchased my protein mix from this site, you can design it with the ingredients you want. I am cutting, so I made a mix without the carbs that are usually in most of the mixes, I just added proteins with vitamins and minerals, plus natural vanilla flavor. I also ordered their mixing cups that come with whisking balls to help mix the thick powder in milk or water. The cups allow me to fill them with the whisking ball and the powder, I just add water at the gym or when ever I need a shake, usually in between meals.

+1 for tn. their milk protein isolate is cheaper than, and just as good as casein powders. great nutrition profile and keeps you fullll. i think dante trudel owns the company btw.
To be honest, i get shredded without counting calories at all, I simply stick to these foods above and get shredded when needs be and when I want to maintain bodyfat level I add complex carbs to every meal ( a small serving) and when I don't care I eat whatever i want and get fat a bit but never found the need to count calories.
waltri think it should be mentioned that calories should always be counted no matter what type of diet your on (bulk/cut/maintenance)
AnonI wouldn't say its necessary to count calories for every diet because i also got great results only counting carbs and protein. But it would help maximize potential fat loss counting your macros
