Length of a cycle ?
ad
Can anyone tell me why or how the length of a cycle is calculated ?
I understand the half life of an ester and how it plays a role in the requency you inject, but how and why is a cycle 12 or 16 weeks ?
Is it a balance of enough time to gain vs not too much time to shut your body down ?

AnonThanks for the answers .
BTW sorry I see this thread would have been better placed in the cycle category.
So it sounds like we are talking about enough time to make gains, while trying to stay at a point the body can bounce back from.
Give them a vote if you find it helpful.Permalinktread-mMany factors involved which can include age, the compounds, previous cycle history etc. For example, we may not recommend an EQ cycle for a younger guy with only one or two cycles under his belt since EQ should really be ran 16 weeks to get the full benefit from the compound and then you typically run your test out an additional 2 weeks so you have an 18 weeks cycle. That's not the perfect cycle for a 25 yr old with one test cycle under his belt necessarily.
Deca is another one that may not be recommended for a younger guy new to the game even though you can get away with a 12 weekk cycle with 2 additional weeks of test. Reason for this one is deca is very suppressive and that combination for the young new guy would be a "hard shutdown".
So the comment is often "shutdown is shutdown". True but it has been proven certain compounds are harder to recover from and have show n to suppress the LH shutdown more than say a straight test run so they are referred to as a "hard shutdown". Many factors though so its almost an equation to some degree and given we all have different opinions on the subject you will see dfferent beliefs on it and the protocols have "variation" based on the opinions.
One more example and I'll leave it to other opinions. Introducing a 19 nor into your cycles. We may often prefer once you do decide to use a 19 you introduce an npp or deca long before you would run an Ace or tren E. This has to do with the safety maybe of the former over the latter. The sides used properly are less likely when compared to tren and while prolactin overage is still possible and sexual suppression (deca dick) likely to some degree, it is less to deal with possibly than with tren where many other sides in addition to that factor. End of the day many compounds work better for certain people in different situations and that goes to combination of compounds and experience from the advisor is subject to opinion and the different experiences we all will have.
Even with good advice, your experience will be unique and probably different to some degree from others. That is easily proven when you have 2 buddies running identical cycles, same diets, similar shape and have very different results and sides from a given identical cycle.
Depends on what your running...Like Deca takes at least 12 weeks to see some benifits...I don't run anything under 12 or over 15....Usually around week 8 just on some test I start to feel some great gains....By week 15 I'm ready to take a break.
