Unless you've been living under a rock here in America, you've no-doubt heard about the Teenager Treyvon Martin who was shot by the wannabe cop/idiot neighborhood watch guy. The media is going to make sure you've heard about it...over and over and over again.
So far, actual facts have been scarce, but conjecture, speculation and finger-pointing haven't. And the media LOVES it. They thrive on chaos and conflict. They love a good war, a good murder....bank robbery....or sex scandal.
But I have a question for the media.....WHY IS THIS A STORY?
In just my town alone in the last 4 months::::
A white man was beaten to death by black intruders after racial remarks and stabbing
A white man was shot (by blacks) in the street after getting out of his car to check for a low tire
A white man was shot and killed by a black man at a club during a botched robbery

Asians, Jews, Hispanics, Blacks, Whites, and every other race of people are killed, robbed, or assaulted every day in this country by members of a different race---often on the basis of race. Yet we never hear a word about it.
This is the story of a teenager who was shot by a guy who says he was attacked. Nothing more....nothing less.
I lived with other races for 12 years in prison, and I can tell you I have great love for ALL people. People who kill innocent people should be caught and punished, and that's the only message here.
This post is intended for productive discussion and commentary. If it turns toxic, I'll close it and ban anyone hurling insults. But that does not mean you can't state how you feel. Just leave the insults out of it.

I have one frustration! Rather than showing the current pics of Trevon and Zimmerman are completely misleading! Trevon wore a grill, and was throwing out the perception he was HARD, and into the gangsta life. Zimmerman had cleaned up nicely and seemed through appearance to be a average guy. Wonder if Obama knew that before his infamous comment! I guess the media is more about prejudgment and misleading in order to generate publicity. Sad really!!

In the NBA, the best point guards are often white--Steve Nash...Mark Price...Ricky Rubio...John Stockton. Even magic at his best was not as proficient in assists (the purest PG stat) as Stockton or Nash in their prime.
In the NFL, the most QBs are white...again, another "cerebral" position, requiring quick thinking and analytical skills. Do you think it's just an accident that the next guy to win the 100 meters at the Olympics will be black????

one of the reasons African americans are better work horse athletes (RB's etc) is that naturally, on average they are at the high end of the rages for testosterone. In America and other slave import countries you have to keep in mind the Africans that survived the ruthless and horrifying sea voyages to the "new land" were in a sense naturally selected as the physically superior. A friend of mine who specializes in plastic surgery (specifically penile implants) afforded me an unusual fact... He says that 40% of his clientelle are indeed Black. So, as far as sterotypes go, as much as I do believe there is some merit to them, they are not across the board blanket statements.
It could be the stereotype makes Blacks with normal penises feel small. In turn, the surgeon see's a disproportionate amount of blacks over the white men who are told their small penis is normal. ;-)

One thing I know for a fact is that color and race have less to do with who we are than I would say Econimics would. Poor folks are the same whether ur white black or brown or whatever color. tread-mWhether we like it or not the media controls every part of society. I'm sorry to have to say this but my years on earth and my open mind have made me understand why. Ignorant people look to the media for all there answers, I hear them quote this shit all the time, parrots, little sheep following the leaders. We do not pick our presidentws in this country as so many ignorant people think we do. The media pics the nominee and then the media determines who they want and drills the shit out of what they see as "their" enemy insuring the other candidate will win. The understand the ignorant will follow them.
As to racism, think of who watches the most news, adults right? Notice (at least where I live) kids don't have any race issues at all. hell my kids simply could not care less about how much pigment someone has in their skin. Kids by and large don't watch a hell of a lot of news. I will say this and it might piss a few people off and if so find you some happy panties and get over it. The black leaders of today are slowly losing power as a result of racism in decline with the new generations so in my estimation they go out of their way to maintain the "hate mentallity" because without the hate mentallity they lose any power they have. They are dependant on racism and of course the media is all to happy to help as you pointed out. I can assure you MLK would have loved to have had the problems current black leaders have. He had actual problems and would be very happy to se how far the country has come in race relations and I think he would spend most of his time applauding and encouraging that which is something you will "NEVER" see todays black leaders doing. I agree with this. As for the race thing, I believe my generation kicked that barrier down for the most part. I'm 31 and growing up in a big city, we had no choice but to be friends with whoever lived on our block which was like a melting pot of different races. When my parents were kids things were different. Italians in this hood, irish over here, blacks there, etc. I'm pretty sure that we kicked that door in 15-20 years ago. I guess it still hasnt caught on in bubble fuck iowa and with the baby boomers.

Look you're really not helping me. I've always checked the white box, but I knew if anyone found out I might get called out. I checked other a couple times and it felt weird. I'm pretty sure I'm white. I'm not 100%. My father is part Hispanic. I was always told to just put whatever I wanted by my grandmother. So, are you telling me I'm checking the wrong box? Legally, I think you have to be at least 1/16 to check a box. I'm more than 1/16 Hispanic. What do I do? I have no idea who I am anymore! Someone please help! I'm lost. Perfect example. Black Africans have been around longer than anyone else on earth and because of that have had more time toi have more gene mutations. The different tribes of Africa are so genetically different that it is completely 100% possible for a Black African from one tribe to have more genetic similarites with a European than with another Black African. Dont forget there is more to genes than skin tone, hair texture, and eye color. So tell me, if race really does exist how can a black African have more genetic similarities with a European (not his race) than with another Black African from a different area (same race)? Easy, race is purely social. Its imposible to have more genetic similarities with someone of another race than with your own if race really exists
Genetics isnt synonomous with race though. Its a social construct because it really doesnt exist, its based on arbitrary things like skin color. We could just as easily have based it on blood type, or hair color, or eye color. Here in America Im black but if I take a plane to Brazil I am no longer black my race changes to something else. If race were a fact based thing I couldnt change my race just by cathching a flight could I? In America Obama is Black, in Norway he isnt. There are NO clear cut lines on which to clearly base ones race, its cultural. Im black, cherokee, and scotch-irish but because America says if you have one drop of anything else you cant be white, i cant be white. I have to be black even though thats only PART of who I am and I have to be black because society says so. But im just as much white as I am black so how does that make me black not white. ALL blacks descended from slaves have some white heritage, EVERY ONE. Now with that being said, she had one white parent and one mostly black but partly white parent. One white parent and one mixed parent means she has more white "blood" than black. Common sense dictates that if she had to be labled as one race it would be white since shes mostly white right. But society says it doesnt matter if shes mostly white, she can NEVER claim to be white because she has some black. WHY?? Why cant she be white since she has more white blood???? BECAUSE RACE IS A SOCIAL CONSTRUCT and society decided mostly white part black equals black even though that makes no scientific sense. How we chose race is based on arbitrary bull and opinion, or else Hally Berry is white since she mostly white.
Well, technically there are only 5 races:
1) Mongoloid (Asian and American Indian)
2) Caucasoid (European)
3) Australoid (Australian and oceanic)

By American law they are considered to be caucasian, it makes no sense to me but is true. At least according to my cultural anthropology professors that teach and write books on the topic. The word caucasian was originally used to describe a group of people who originated near tha Caucus Mountain area of ASIA. Hence cauc-asian. Look at a map, India and Pakinstan are MUCH closer to this area than are Europeans therefore how could a European have more claim to the term than the people who live there? Asian and Mongoloid do not mean the same thing. People in India ARE Asian but they ARE NOT Mongoloid they are caucasian, Pakistanis are not Mongoloid either. Caucasian usually means a white person of northern, southern, eastern, and western European, Middle Eastern, and even North African descent (believe it or not)

The term even includes people as far east as India. The Caucus mountains of Asia (caucasian) are near north India. Doesnt have to be a "white" person, im black and most of Pakistan is darker than me. We have a ton of exchange students from India at school and I have yet to see one that was a light as me, but they are caucasion by law though their skin is dark as most black people in the U.S... Forgive my ramblings but Im also a culutural anthropology major and this shit is all we talk about lol

Back in the 80s and 90s, my state was one of the best places to do time.
All the stress I've had in my life didn't start until after I got out----had to get a job, a car, pay bills, and had not one single friend---all of my friends left at the prison. I became very bitter and lonely in the first 2 years after release. Eventually things got better, but I still wish sometimes I could travel back in time and visit for a day.
