Unless you've been living under a rock here in America, you've no-doubt heard about the Teenager Treyvon Martin who was shot by the wannabe cop/idiot neighborhood watch guy. The media is going to make sure you've heard about it...over and over and over again.
So far, actual facts have been scarce, but conjecture, speculation and finger-pointing haven't. And the media LOVES it. They thrive on chaos and conflict. They love a good war, a good murder....bank robbery....or sex scandal.
But I have a question for the media.....WHY IS THIS A STORY?
In just my town alone in the last 4 months::::
A white man was beaten to death by black intruders after racial remarks and stabbing
A white man was shot (by blacks) in the street after getting out of his car to check for a low tire
A white man was shot and killed by a black man at a club during a botched robbery

- I live in a very small town.

Asians, Jews, Hispanics, Blacks, Whites, and every other race of people are killed, robbed, or assaulted every day in this country by members of a different race---often on the basis of race. Yet we never hear a word about it.
This is the story of a teenager who was shot by a guy who says he was attacked. Nothing more....nothing less.
I lived with other races for 12 years in prison, and I can tell you I have great love for ALL people. People who kill innocent people should be caught and punished, and that's the only message here.
This post is intended for productive discussion and commentary. If it turns toxic, I'll close it and ban anyone hurling insults. But that does not mean you can't state how you feel. Just leave the insults out of it.

First 18mths or so after release was probably one of the loneliest times for me! kept my head held high and kept moving forward. the sad part is the friends i made in there slowly started getting released and their mind set didn't change and mine did. I wouldn't mind going back for a day to visit one of the O.G'S that have been down for 20+. Some of the things I've learned from them will stay with me the rest of my life... just a way to let them them know their not forgotten.. Some stand up Men in my opinion... Good people sometimes do horrible things....anyways i read this and know exactly how you feel!!
DfizzleSeems like white guilt type stories sell. I was at the grocery store yesterday and was in check out line and looked over at the magazines and the headline of People read AN AMERICAN TRADEAGY. Then on the cover was a picture of a this kid when he was like fucking 10....I'm so sick of this story
Exactly what I think! The fucking media keeps plastering this little gangbanger's mug all over the television, yet the photos are of the guy when he was 10-12 with a cute little Hollister shirt.

He has no criminal record to suggest gang activity. Very odd statement based on zero facts. I dont know what happened that night but you dont know he is a gangbanger either WE DO however know Zimmerman has a history of violence. 2 domestic assaults and an assault on a police officer all in one year. Its amazing that everyone wants to paint the child as a criminal based on NOTHING but assumption, but they know for a FACT Zimmmerman has a violent past but thats overlooked. Make up lies of thugery on one dude and completely overlook the FACTS of thugery from the other dude. Do some fact checking, bro. Dude had a grill, a twitter handle named "@no_limit_nigga," was just suspended from school for 10 days, and multiple times eluded to fights and drugs.

Never watch FOX im a reader. The "grill" was aluminum foil. He was a kid acting silly, big deal thats what kids do. Also when does a "grill" make you a gangbanger? My grandmom has gold teeth and I assure you shes no gang member. Most people I know with grills (and I know many) ARE NOT gang members, you just make that assumption because you want to. Its just jewelry dude, not an indication of gang membership. As for his handle,f it said something like "crip nigga" or "blood nigga" or "vicelord nigga" I could see associating it with gang membership but NOTHING about that handle says "gang". Again you make assumptions. "Eluded to fights", that sounds silly as hell, what American teenage boy DOESNT talk about fighting? Again NOTHING about that says gang member, you assume once again. As for "drugs", rehabs acroos the country are filled with drug users and the majority ARE NOT gang members. AGAIN, you assume. You know what happens when you assume dont you roflrofl. "Suspended from school". Was he suspended for gang activity? So you mean to tell me that EVERY kid that ever got suspended from school MUST have been a gang member lol. So only gang members get suspended huh roflroflrofl........ Dude you have some very messed up logic. NOTHING you have said indicates gang membership, it indicates being an average American teenager. Also its kinda odd. Zimmerman has a PROVEN history of violence but you dont call him a gangbanger, Trayvon has NO history of violence but he is constantly called a gangbanger. How the hell does that make sense. THINK DUDE
While there is an overly high percentage of blacks that commit crimes, I will also admit that it is not only them. Whites, Latinos, Asians, etc all have gang issues. However, the old days of dealing a little weed and raising a little hell have progressed to being crazier than the "wild wild west" ever was. Kids being used for enforcement (read murder) becuase they wont get hammered the way someone of age will. Dealers doing everything they can to hook kids so they can create new customers and runners. Kids being killed because they drove the wrong colored car in the wrong neighborhood. The list goes on and on. And they dont care if innocents get caught in the crossfire... look at the people killed in home invasions now. Used to be if the homeowner came in, the perp would beat feet. These days, its a beat down (or shooting) and then they finish cleaning the place out. IMO, it's not going to be long before you see more and more thugs (white, black, latino, whatever) shot and killed by Joe Citizen, as more and more people (black, white, etc) are getting tired of the thug mentality of these troublemakers. If you want to really get an earful, listen to some of the blacks start ranting about the thugs. They dont just dislike them, they want to get downright medevial on their asses!
I've been watching this circus for what feels like weeks and still do not have a clear idea of what happened. It's morphed to the point where the story itself is the story!
Fucking media! In Australia the only publicised cases are the ones involving ethnic's committing crimes against aussies. Multicultural society my ass! Media encourages Racism, gives em more shit to talk about.

Losers and assholes come from all ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, it's just astounding the high percentage of African-Americans that fall into that category given their relative numbers as part of the whole. My home is a mixed racial household and my circle of friends looks like a damned Benetton ad from the 90's, so I don't stupidly throw everyone of a certain type into the worthless category. What I find sickening is the self-imposed white guilt and the way the media screams "hate crime" only when it's not whites being attacked. Truly sickening. And worse still? We've got at least the past 2-3 generations of inbred losers that are leeches on society, never to contribute positively in any way.
It's the media...picking the so called good story to air....nothing much on the kid that was set on fire ....that was a racial attack...

I used to watch the news every morning with my coffee. One morning I had my coffee and the TV but I had my back to the tv so I couldn't see it. As Cnn came on all i heard was the sound of sirens, war, and hurt, and fear. Even the music was startling. I do not watch the news anymore. But your right it is impossible to escape. Your post nails this issue well. Without a full investigation the media has decided who the victim is and who is the murderer. So Sad where were they when we rushed to war. Where the hard questions then. IMO
It's a shame you wasted 12 years of your life in prison goth. The single year I spent there was by far and away the worst year of my life.
I was lucky to be in a prison system that was very well-run and spent my last 5 years on a 500 acre prison work farm where we would have our work done by 9:00 A.M. and spend the rest of the day fishing alongside the river, checking our marijuana plants, or, if we wanted, heading back to the prison to workout, play ball, or just lay in the sun and work on a tan.
In some ways, those 12 years were some of the funnest times of my life. If they would have had cars and women, I'd have never left.
That was in the 80's and 90's.......times have changed. It's different now, and I wouldn't want to go back.
I didn't see daylight for 10 straight months. And there was no weight facility, the feds had it removed. I could never go back to that.
The media is also the reason gear isn't legal.
