Lots of smoke but No fire

ad

We've all heard the propaganda and the anti anabolics/ped's campaign in America. I can totally understand trying to protect high school athelete's and keeping the playing field level in pro sports, but the fact that AAS are illegal to manufacture, distribute and worst of all POSSESS in the U.S is a crime in itself. A grown man or woman who makes a decision to use AAS should not be tagged as a criminal. Doing proper research and making educated decisions with our own bodies should be our business. Why exactly are they illegal here? Someone please explain this to me like i'm a 5 year old. I don't get it. One of our closest allies in the world ,The UK kept the personal use of AAS legal. Why don't we follow suit? Anyway, here's a video I came across. "The truth about steroids" from HBO's Real Sports. I watch that show but don't remember this. It's three parts, here is the first. My favorite line..."Show me the bodies"

I've always wondered this too, although I'm not American myself I always wanted to know why their so uptight and serious about it.I understand about high school kids and sports but for the non-competitive people. Over here its totally the opposite..even if customs did find them they'd probably leave em through, I never heard of cases and AAS in Ireland, not ONCE. ( just found some nice chats below, gonna read em. )

I used to handle an associate in Buffalo. Whenever I would go up to help them, they would take me for a nice dinner, then it was over the peace bridge to take in the "Canadian Ballet"! LOL ;-P

to be able to understand the way we as Americans perceive use of steroids you have to peer simply into the way we think. dont bash but this is true we are narrow minded. we want it all but care not how we get it behind the scenes. we cannot stand to see someone pass us. you think i am wrong? watch the 135lbs guy start his first cycle and gain 40lbs and everyone in your gym talk about how special he is and all you can do is tell everyone its because hes "juiced" we make this illegal all based on JEALOUSY its plain and simple. out law makers hide behind the single statement, why should they get more when i use my GOD GIVEN TALENT. time and time again i have heard senators say i played ball but i did it with my own talent. off topic but similar., do you really think bill clinton puffed but didnt inhale? seriously? no. its what he had to say after elected to appeal to the masses. but fear not my friend there is some what hope for the future. the baby boomers are retiring and hence not giving a shit to vote and once generation x and the millennials vote policies will change. steroids, and recreational drugs will not be "the devil" anymore.

sorry if thats kind of long, you just struck a nerve that i debate on any given day weekly.

We have the same problem here in OZ. We are told it is to protect us from ourselves. Now that is a funny statement to me. If AAS was to be legalized then that would almost immediately close down the black market for such products. Now that would be a much smarter way of protecting us from ourselves. No more dodgey gear from UGL's that are only in it for the cash and not the guys using. From what I can understand it's a public perception thing. It's fine for someone to take a Valium if they are highly stressed, but thats a pill. The moment you talk about sticking a needle in your but it all changes. It wasn't that long ago that alcohol was illegal.

Nitti's picture

And worse for you guys, from what I can tell by the reviews ad comments out of Australia, your customs are the TOUGHEST to get through. You're absolutely right. It would make much more sense for their argument of public safety if they legalized it. I know that grrrrls point of the money is the real reason. It just still doesn't make any sense

wallabokkie's picture

Well if it was purely motivated by the dollar it would be legal. That way they then could be gaining from the pharmacuticals as opposed to missing out all together. I don't think the only motivation is the dollar well not down here anyway. It definately has alot to do with public perception.

B-LOCO's picture

Thats it in a nutshell. The usa dont acre about our health. If they did cigarettes (the number one killer) would be illegal. All these presciption drugs that kill would be too.

Its business. $$$$$$$ talks baby.

Absolutely agree 100%. The school of thought on AAS in the public is fed by the propaganda machine. It is definitely big biz. The prison system generates tons of money all from the war on drugs. I still say that AAS doesn't belong in the same conversation as heroin, meth, cocaine or even marijuana (although thats another big crock of shit). This video I posted is laying out the facts. If AAS is so dangerous to ppls health and fatal, "show me the bodies". At least stste by state we are starting to come around on the marijuana issue. I believe it's only a matter of time before anabolics follow suit. If you listen to the radio, you hear commercials constantly on "natural testosterone boosting supps". I believe the old school docs have the bias about it. "Doc I think my test levels are low, I feel crappy". "Well the level is totally NORMAL for YOUR AGE". The new school docs are saying, "well why do I need to accept the fact that i'm getting old? Why can't I feel the way I did when I was 25 and have a better quality of life into my 50's and 60's?" Hopefully the government quits playing with the scisors and shit, and cuts the crap (lol, i couldn't resist). The authorities on drugs in the UK understands the issue, are we much different? Are their scientists just smarter than ours or are ours just ignorant? Is it the FDA or AMA or is it congress? I could be wrong but didn't the AMA & FDA attempt to stop our congress from making AAS illegal? Touchy subject. Kinda pisses me off

carnealsr's picture

You ve been to thailand to haha you can buy anything otc their anything even a person

Nitti's picture

It's bullshit man! Well at least our brothers in the UK are let by a government who sees through the smoke and mirrors and doesn't sell it to the public! I'm kinda jealous. Lol.

fUNNY HOW THE ONE GUY RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT WHO IVE HEARD SAY WE NEED TO STOP WASTING OUR MONEY ON THE WAR ON DRUGS GIVE IT UP ALREADY WE LOST..WELL HES NOT DOING SO WELL, HMMMM

carnealsr's picture

Yea his debates make me laugh he blows ppls minds with fresh ideas

carnealsr's picture

America needs to give up on the war on drugs it cost us govt as much as the afghan war every 6 months. It makes no sense you can buy a bottle of whiskey and go home and drink it and thats ok but you smoke a joint or put hormones in your body your a criminal

Nitti's picture

The war on drugs is a different beast. Still bullshit. The war on drugs has addicts being incarcerated instead of treated. In my hometown alone it costs tax payers $90 per day, per prisoner to house them. There are over 6,000 prisoners in the county jail at any given time here. It's all bullshit, a racket. But why the fuck are AAS included in this?

carnealsr's picture

I dont onow the specifics but i do know somebody somewhere is getting rich off the war on drugs im not sure who its but when the govt is behind it its about making somebody money and taking citizens tax money to cut their losses

carnealsr's picture

I agree

carnealsr's picture

Someone like to explain to me why i got down voted for agreeing ha

Nitti's picture

thats lame. Maybe someone did it accidentally. I've done it by accident before from my iphone. I gave you a +1 for you valid points in this thread and because youn didn't deserve to lose that point
