Need studies that show how Clomid use affects E2
ad
I’ve been taking Clomid prescribed by a fertility specialist for 4 months now. I’m going in to have blood work done this week at their offices. They’re testing me for lh,fsh, test, tsh and prolactin. They don’t want to test my E2. When I asked why not they said “we’ve never tested for it because it’s not relevant”. I shit you not, I said wut?!
So I want to take some studies with me to show them to encourage them to test my E2. I’ve found some, but wanted to ask if anyone knows of any medical studies documenting how Clomid can affect e2 I would really appreciate it!

PcushionA fertility specialist will be able to see what he needs to see without having your E2 levels. He isn’t trying to optimize your test levels, but that’s not saying he won’t check your E2 if something sparks his curiosity.
Clomid doesn’t reduce E2 it blocks the receptor. It’s not very efficient in the body, but has a very high affinity for estrogen receptors in the brain.
Bigun2My dr is going to be surprised to see Estradiol tested at all as his nurse refused to have it tested for me. My libido is non-existent after 5 months of Clomid and a month of hcg/hmg, so I’m just trying to see what’s out of whack to cause libido to be 0.
We tested Test, E2, LH, Fsh, prolactin and tsh. So with all that we should have a clear picture of why the thought of sex is revolting to me. My suspicion is estradiol or prolactin is either high or low. Should know for sure in a few days.
Bigun2I worked it out. They put me in a room to rub one out. They handed me some papers and said take these around the corner and get your blood drawn after you beat off in this cup.
The paper was a form with different tests X’ed to show which to test. I X’ed the Estradiol, so they are testing it too. All worked out! Cost $18 from LabCorp. Cheap as shit through doctor.
You can do a voluntary test on E2. Since high estrogen does indeed have effect on sperm count. More estrogen, less sperm eventually
Bigun2Voluntary?
I meant at private labs.. For your reference.. Well estrogen is as important as testosterone. Infact more important for your health, sex life, sperm quality. Too less or too high estrogen, both are not desirable. So it is really helpful to make estrogen count
How much you using clomi ? And how much you use IA ?
Bigun2100mg Clomid ed. Adex 1mg eod. I’m also using 500iu hcg eod.
very strange dude, usually adex is matched to the analysis of e2. I understand that lh can be high and testosterone is low and vice versa, but the restoration of testosterone and fertility depends on e2. but I can say a dose of 1mg of eod is certainly enough to protect you from side effects such as gyno or water retention. but e2 greatly influences the course of recovery.
Bigun2For sure. Tbh I only had Adex and was using it until I could get Aromasin shipped to me. I got Pfizer Aro today and have more otw. I’m hoping I can talk them into testing my e2 so I know where it actually is vs going off symptoms. One thing is sure though- my libido is still off. It got better a few weeks ago, but today my libido is completely off again. 0 sex drive after taking Clomid 5 months, hcg/hmg for 3 weeks. Something is off and I know blood tests are the only answer. But I can’t get the dr to test my e2 for me.
I suspect either high e2 or prolactin. I also recognize low e2 can kill libido, hence I stopped taking the Adex a couple weeks ago. I’m really just fishing in the dark without bloods. Hence why I wanted something to show the dr to encourage him to test e2.
I don't know your bloods but 1mg eod is way too much, even if u use a low dose of 500IU HCG eod.
Agreed 1 mg eod should be used if you were running 1000mg of test. That will definitely crush libido
Bigun2Duly noted. Sounds like I probably crashed my e2 then. I’ve ceased the Adex and have Aro on hand going forward it e2 becomes a problem.
I don't think I'd use a a.i. unless i was on a cycle. Not hcg alone but im not expert in fertility. Here is an interesting article on Proviron for this subject.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2892728/
Bigun2Wow that is interesting in that I was under the impression proviron was suppressive to LH/FSH and ultimately T levels, but this study seems to suggest otherwise. Appreciate the link, I’ll definitely research this further.
From my understanding Proviron has mild AI properties, so if it indeed isn’t suppressive to lh/fsh/t then it could be a useful substitute to an AI to offset e2 sides as a result of Clomid/hcg use.
Possibly, that why i send. Good luck
Bigun2I’m switching to Aromasin. Thinking of dosing it 6.25mg ed or eod. I’m currently running 100mg Clomid ed, 500iu hcg eod and 75iu hmg eod. I will run these 3 for the foreseeable future. Thoughts on Aromasin dosages for this stack?
I'd use adex if its a fertiity protocol! 2x0.5mg /week.
Are you on Test or off?
Bigun20 test since 9/2020, so very off. I was under the impression Aro was preferred as it has positive affect on free test. Maybe Rusty can chime in as some of his buddies were the ones who I originally read posting about this effect way back when.
Clomid reduces E2 a bit but I have no studies I can show, E2 is a very important value, but all "specialists" are not really specialists, 90 percent of them are conceited and shitty!
I found this for u, hope it helps:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16422830/
https://www.healthline.com/health/clomid-for-men#takeaway
PcushionClomid doesn’t do anything for the bodies E2 levels it only blocks the receptor.
Bigun2Thank you. I didn’t think that sounded right but idk.
RustyhookerIf your test is within range then e2 would be taken as in balance. We worry about e2 on cycle because the body cant maintain balance with massive test levels.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16422830/
Thats 100% right Rustyhooker but especially a fertility doc should care about the E2 too! Too high E2 has very bad effects on sperm quality
RustyhookerGood point! Its just an extra test reading
Bigun2I agree, and want them to test it. They’re assertion is it’s an unnecessary test, but I’m under the impression Clomid use with hcg can increase e2 levels.
Can Clomid use in and of itself raise e2 levels?
RustyhookerI saw youre using 100 a day with hcg...its possible to raise it, yes depending on your bodies reactions. But also as noted above the adex level is really high imo. Dry lips...dry skin....sore joints is typical crashed e2 signs. Your idea of aro at 6.25 sounds like a better idea when it shows.
Irish mack has a nice firum on aro and hes smart on it. Id read his forum and get his input too. Ultimatly i fully agree on getting bloods after a decent time off adex and in aro. So theres not as much variations in a real number.
Bigun2Thanks for the feedback. I read Mack’s Aro write up earlier today. Definitely good stuff.
