My blood work - comments appreciated

ad

Hey guys,
Just got my blood results back and was hoping I could get your valuable feedback. Hope it's ok to post them in this forum...

My background
- Age: 37 (male)
- Weight: 209
- Height: 6'3"
- BF: 12%
- AAS history: did 3 very moderate and short AAS "cycles" 10+ years ago. Plan is now to start my first HGH only cycle to help with injury recovery and make small improvements to my physique.
- Diet: last 1-2 months have been very good after I discovered that I'm sensitive to gluten. Have always had a pretty clean diet but like I said last month or so has been very consistent. Protein levels are moderate/high - averaging 250-300 grams/day. Low fat and low/moderate carbs.

Could not figure out a way to attach a file here so had to copy and paste all the results. Hope you can still read them ok.

Obviously you can tell that my BUN and LDL cholesterol results are high. What do you think? Would BUN be related to my relatively high protein intake? Also, was thinking that I should try to drink more water during the day... Taking 5 grams of creatine on workout days. Cholesterol was a surprise to me... Not sure if it's an issue since my total cholesterol is ok... Any and all comments are welcome.

thanks!

Thanks for the comments. This actually was the first time I had extensive blood work done and also wanted to establish a baseline before my HGH cycle that started yesterday. Will check my IGF levels after 4 weeks and probably pull another full male hormone panel in 6-12 months.

Have not talked to my doctor as this was an out-of-pocket test with privatemdlabs.

Yes, my protein intake has been roughly 250-300 grams per day. On workout days a little higher.

Sorry, was probably not very clear in my first post about my goals but wanted to get feedback here regarding any recommended changes to my diet. I guess my main point is the long-term impact that a high protein diet can have on your kidneys... Perhaps I'm overreacting but just wanted to see what others think. Am I way off?

If you are eating 250-350 grams of pro a day I don't think you have much to worry about as far as long term renal issues. In my research, the studies have not proven there is a real problem with high protein diets. I think the key to it is hydration 1-2 gallons of water a day. Drink your water and your good IMO.

Thanks! I haven't been drinking enough water so that's definitely something I need to improve on. Already started...

I'll start a separate thread on my HGH cycle.

No actually they are fine- your Bun is up a little because I assume you eat a high protein diet. Your LDL is fine as well unless you have some underlying medical problems like coronary artery disease or Diabetes.

So what is it you are looking for here? Majority of your bloods come back in range. What has your doctor said?
