You take this test fasted in the morning? What I’m getting at is how was your hydration prior to testing? Dehydration can really skew things like Cystatin c and the markers in the CBC panel.
When taking morning fasted bloodwork you should get 20-40oz of water in you right when waking up. Then hopefully your test is at least 30 minutes later so your body has time to assimilate some of that water.
Dkoon211No, the first time I went I did not fast so I rebook it. Idk why she put i wasn't fasted I went to work drank a gallon of water and didnt eat anything since the night before. I took the test at 2 pm lol. I was hungry as fuck

This is great for kidney conversion
Dkoon211Thank you.
MMmmm interesting - cystatin c increases the worse the filtration rate the kidneys are clearing at because the protein builds up high in the blood. I know eGFR's of less than 60 are classed as proper kidney disease territory but obv that is based on creatinine clearance. @SeeOhShow your expertise in this area bro is required!!
Did they not give you an eGFR with that Cystatin C test? Mine is 1.02 but 81 in the normal range for eGFR
Dkoon211U know I swear it said cystatin c with egfr when I ordered it. But I do believe that was on the last blood work I showed.
Actually, the eGFR itself is not bad when adjusting for your age, height, and weight you’re at a 93.
Dkoon211Thank you for that. I'm new to labs really.
You can plug in your age and the result here to get the calculation. Your kidneys seem stressed though I’d definitely suggest you review your protocol and proceed with caution.
