Pain in left shoulder when doing curls
ad
I'm having a sharp pain in my left shoulder when I do any kind of bicep curls. My form is good and I've gone down on the weight. Its weird because I did shoulders yesterday and had minimal pain, even when I shoulder pressed with 80 lb dumbbells. It only bothers me when doing bicep curls. I pray that its not an impingement. I've looked at lame videos on YouTube on stretches and certain exercises to help it but really didn't find anything useful. Has any one ever experienced this and what's something I can do to help it.

I had the same issue just in the right shoulder. Warm up shoulders before every training day. Strengthen all the muscles that support the rotator cuf and take your time. This will not go away fast.
Could be a partial tear in the labrum. I've been there, and had same issue
Edit:just realized the BAN tag on the OP, but regardless if someone's looking at this for answers that's what I can offer.
Possible never getting in between the joints, popular injury with powerlifts and those who lack proper form...
FlexNinjaYeah I've been working and improving on my form. I've also gone lighter doing more reps. Proper stretching has become a big part of my routine.
Do you do rotator cuff exercises every day? It's possible your engaging your shoulders when doing curls. You have to eliminate their engagement during the exercise. What weight do you use for curls?
FlexNinjaPreacher curls-75 to 80 Ez curl-75 Straight bar -95 sometimes 135 but not lately. Dumbbells 45 to 55. I'm going down in weight to relieve strain on my shoulder. So subtract 10 to 15 from each above. Yeah it feels like my left shoulder slightly lifts when I'm coming up on a curl. Give me some good rotator cuff exercises that you use. Ive been doing light dumbbells to loosen rotator before I start.
You have what I have; The pain goes away only if you do rehab on it, Take a look at these links I am providing that helped me out big time. You will have to do these exercises every day and lower the weights for a couple weeks until it gets better. Its not stretching that helps; that makes it worse at least for me it did. As soon as I started building more forearm strength and doing those exercises my pain is livable and I am doing 45 pound bicep curls which is still low but if I go higher then that it starts to sting a little still and 100 pound bar curls.

Thank I know this was meant for me but it does help irish
FlexNinjaThat was a good read I actually bookmarked it to study. Thanks.
sounds like bicep tendonitis
FlexNinjaSucks getting old I want some of that Captain America super juice he did.
I had sumit similar but mine was my rotator cuff muscle, but i was unable to do much when i strained that all i could do was just rest and give it time to heal, but id say best thing u could do mate is go see your doctor cause if u keep training u could end up making it worse
