Fat Gripz
ad
I used my fat gripz for the first time yesterday with DB Bench Press. I used a little less weight than usual (80's instead of 95's), but it was still hard as hell just to get the adjusted dumbbells onto my knees. The press itself was easy, and I feel like my grip was trained far more than my triceps or chest.
Is it ok to sacrifice additional weight if you are training with a wider gripped barbell/dumbbell? What are you sacrificing to do so, or what are you gaining by doing so?
Thanks

I've been looking into getting a pair of these for awhile. Any sugggested sites?
I got mine from bodybuilding.com when they had a $15.00 off discount. But if you order supps from them might as well buy there since your already paying the SH.
I like to use them best with bicep and tricep exercises. But I switch off and on using them. For an example If I'm doing hammer curls I'll do two sets with em and then max out with a set without them.
Ive got a couple of pairs of those things. ( LOVE THEM) . I dont use them on my bench. I use a
rubber inner tube tire that I have cut into strips.. there about a foot long. I cut holes
to put my fingers thru them. I use them sometimes with dumbbells. But for bench there
easier for me.
As for the weight. If I had to use less pounds..I'd just increase the reps..nothing
wrong with that..I watched this thing with Rich Gaspari and he was working shoulder and he mentioned
that he was able to dig deeper into the muscle using about 60-75 % of his top weight to work
the smaller muscles in the shoulder.. if your pumping.. your fine..( imo)..
if you are strength training they are good for what you said because once you take them off you will be able to press the same weight much easier. pretty much good for grip/forearm development though wouldnt use them every time I pressed to make chest bigger or anything
Thanks for the tips, mate. I¨m sure I´ll take it!
You don't have a choice. Increasing the diameter of the implement you are lifting will eventually make the movement grip limited. I can tell you from experience that the best use for those fat grips however isn't pressing, it's pulling. Rows with those things on will fucking murder your forearms faster and worse than anything else I've ever tried.
Thanks for the great answer bro!
