Any success with German Volume Training while on cycle?

ad

Hey guys!

I've scoured the forums for nearly 4 hours between last night and today and I wasn't able to come up with any useful information. So I thought maybe I would just come right out and ask you guys since you've all been a great help to me already.

I'm curious if anyone has ever used German Volume Training while on cycle? A few friends and I discussed this at length (they don't know I'm going on cycle) last night and only one of the guys had actually done the program properly for the entire 8 weeks. He said he saw massive strength increases and moderately noticeable size increases- most of which was in his chest.

If you don't know what German Volume Training is I'll post this little article and maybe you can let me know what you think about it. This is from bodybuilding.com and is one of the many variations of GVT. Instead of the old 10x10 technique the sets and reps are spread out over a couple of more exercises to hit the muscle from different angles. Also there are two variations in this article- I'm looking at doing the 1st one.

Any comments/variations are welcomed!

Cycle will be 10 weeks of Test Prop at 75 mg/ed. Cardio for 1 hour everyday Monday-Friday.

EDIT- I'm REALLY interested in hearing from anyone with experience using GVT. So feel free to chime in, even if you weren't on cycle.

I would only recommend GVT while on cycle. Too much volume...the risk of burning out is too big. But I wouldn´t recommend it on a Test prop 75 mg ed cycle. That´s basically TRT level. You might wanna try something more conventional...

525 mg a week is TRT doses? I think you should double check that one...

I incorporate the 1010 training into my bodybuilding routine every now and then. To mix things up.
Example: Leg day
Squats 10
10 w60 seconds rest in between
Followed by 3sets of leg press
Leg xten
Leg curls
It is brutal. I literally will b lying on ground ready to Ralph.
It works really well for me when I hit plateaus. That's how I use it. Hope that helps !

I've used GVT and also the abbreviated version.

First thing...IT IS TOUGH. If you are doing it right you will find each workout hard. It's also easy to overtrain on it so it needs to be appreciated. If you struggle with high volume then this may not be the best. In terms of diet..the tracking program depletes glycogen if done right and so a decent diet with carbohydrates will be required.

Gains wise....I've had mixed results. Myself, I had a huge gain in weight and more fuller as I don't do volume training. So with some carbs and this training I swelled up alot. In terms of recomp...it is a brilliant training routine to get leaner as long as you manipulat your diet to be plus 400 BMR on training days and minus 200 BMR non workout days.
