Preparation/Conditioning for Steroid Cycle

ad

Hey guys,

I plan on starting my first ever cycle in a couple months. The cycle will consist of test-e only @ 500-600/week for 10-12 weeks (plus PCT). My stats are:

Age: 25
Height: 6 feet
Weight: 203 lbs
BF%: 15 - 16%

I'm aware that my BF is too high and that I need to be under 12% BF (would like to be in single digits before starting). I would like to get to this point naturally. I have never been in single digit body fat, but always maintained my weight at around 15%. Then again I have always trained for mass and have never eaten or trained to cut fat. I plan on following "The Zone" diet for a couple months in order to get to my goal of single digits. However, I am concerned about losing mass that I have worked so hard to get over the last couple years.

Therefore, I was wondering if any one had any advice on how to reach my goal with minimal muscle loss. I would appreciate any advice on alternative diet plans as well.

As for training, I plan on continuing what I am doing now which is posted below. If anyone has any advice/input on an alternative training regimen I would appreciate any feedback as well.

Mon/Thurs: Chest, Shoulders, Biceps
Tues/Fri: Triceps, back, Abs
Wed: Legs
Sat/Sun: Cardio (I did not do cardio before; just started last week).

Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm going to go with the the HIIT and the pushup/situp routines mentioned. Hopefully after 60 days I will be low enough in BF to start the test Smile

You want to achieve the state where you burn the highest percentage of fat as calories and minimize muscle catabolization.
a good device to help you with this is a heart rate monitor. Usually 60-65% of max heart rate burns the highest percentage of calories from fat. That is a fast walking pace where you can just barely talk in complete sentences without taking a breath during.
A good estimate for max heart rate is 220 minus your age. Of course, a heart rate monitor is more accurate . . . just wear it and sprint as fast as you can to get it.
I agree with the intervals, BTW. That gets the heartrate up briefly and trains your heart in less time, which helps with metabolism when you aren't exercising.
The 60-65% max rate is a "slow burn". You don't drop the most calories (running faster longer does that) but it does ensure that most of that burn is fat. That, you said, is important to you.
Good luck!
