Need some help while recovering
So I have had ACL surgery (5th total surgery on my right knee) about 7 weeks ago. I am still in a straight leg brace but i take it off and wear a supported mobile brace to go to the gym. I have been relegated to machines and lifts that don't need major stability (which rules out most compound lifts for me). I am gaining weight ridiculously fast. For those of you who have chronicled with me, you know I have hashimoto's, which is an under performing (hypo) thyroid. Doc has put me on 50mcg of T3 to get it functioning at normal again. I have bloods coming up tomorrow to see if the 50mcg is the right dose or not.
In any case, I went on the DL at 233lbs and 14% bf. I am, for obvious reasons, off gear. Right now I am at 252 and my bf has climbed to 18%. Its always been easy to gain weight for me (both good and bad). I think part is due to thyroid but I cant shed this shit. I am eating under 2k cals per day with the majority coming from protein. I stop cards after 2pm (except frozen veggie mixes for dinner) and only consume about 80g in total per day (from complex sources). I don't drink soda, monster, redbull or booze. I cant figure out wtf is wrong.
I am trying to work out as best I can. I do machines, smith machines and some free weights along with abs and arm bicycling for cardio. My lifts are heavy 5-6 lifts per muscle group with 5-6 sets of 10-12 reps and only 30 seconds of rest. I do Tabata training on some things like abs, kettlebell swings, ropes etc... what i can do with out pain.
I am switching between clen and ECAY stacks every 2 weeks. I leave the gym drenched with sweat and sit in the sauna for 10 minutes after every work out. Anyone have ideas for me? Lift heavy, alot of sets, cardio and eat clean small amounts has always worked for me but Idk what else to do, I guess wait for the endo and this thyroid thing to solve itself.

You might try to eat paleo, be gluten free, and eat lots of probiotic foods. I know someone who has Hashimoto and she has it under control with the aforementioned diet. Before she changed her diet she was lethargic, sleepy, moody, and got ill quite easily. Now she is a nutritionist/dietician and has helped others with what she's learning.
thats interesting actually. i feel a little bit better with the thyroid pills, as far as energy goes. Maybe I need to get back on Keto though. I just hate the initial strength loss. I am going to try this though +1 for the tip brotha
