looks like your trying to lose weight
if you're trying to bulk, id add a lot more carbs. protein looks ok (can't say exactly but approximating it, i think you're more than okay), and make sure to take in enough fats. like others said, don't be afraid to put some fat on; if it comes on, it'll come off. also Id have each of those snacks be more like a bigass glass of whole milk and a tablespoon of peanut butter. like 600cals in 30 seconds, 3x daily, boom 1800 calories.
if you're recomping.....thats a little bit trickier. Id still say add a bit more carbs but use the scale and mirror and you'd probably benefit from incorporating carb cycling with weekly refeeds. but again, thats something you have to assess for yourself if recomping, or adding only a few pounds of LBM is the goal. if bulking is the goal, i really think you gotta up the cals by throwing in more carbs.
although, if you are training hardcore, the carb loads would help by breaking down into glucose for more atp's and preventing the dreaded catabolism lol. Your a big guy already, hardly any body fat so keep those simple carbs complex. simple carbs are sugar in bread packaging, make you gain chub and retain water, still breaks down into glucose but it's quick and fleeting, complex carbs my friend. The best are vegetable starches high in glutamates.
instant oatmeal is crap, already cook and rolled thin losing nutrients and calories, if quick is your thing instead of steel cut oats grab some irish oats. Cook in the microwave 4 minutes, more bang for your buck. Sweeten the bowl with some greek yogurt calorie dense. I see alot of carbs and empty calories, i'm going to college to be a food scientist so I know a little. I also feed myself good on around $50 a week. learn to cook mate. Don't be afraid of a little fat as long as it's good fats 9 kcals per kg, protein, carbs are both 4. Replace that baked potato with yams or sweet potato too. Your filling yourself up with incomplete protiens aswell. Look up complementary protiens and use choosemyplate.org to help you plan your diet. And there is no one magic meal you got to add some variety in your diet to keep your body using it all for protein synthesis. Your body wants to only use what you've used in the past it doesn't know you want to bulk in the future.
bulking isnt cheap.
save money by buying whole chickens for like 6-8$ watch a video on youtube on how to breakdown a chicken. You can get four meals worth of protein there, roast with the skin on the take off. Fat is flavor. Then throw the carcass into a crockpot after roasting the bones with the chicken to make some stock. Add in whatever scraps you have from veggies from the week in with it to add nutrients and flavor. Just add enough water to cover bones. Let run on low overnight. Strain the use stock instead of water for your rice, bulgar wheat, ect. Adds flavor, calories, and nutrients. Stay away from canned foods. If frozen vegs are cheaper than fresh go that route. Frozen is still fresh as far as your body is concerned. Get a portioned frozen bag of salmon for 8$ got enough for a week, have one for a meal every other day. Bam, remember combo's of veggies complete a 20 chain of essential amino acids for protein synth, examples- beans and rice, corn squash and beans, grains and dairy like the yogurt and oats good idea. remember irish oats more nutrient dense than instant and more kcals. Change it up weekly. choosemyplate.org food tracker explore this website makes food planning easy. I eat well on less than $100 a week, if i'm hurting I can do $30-$40 culinary school isn't cheap and takes up alot of work time. Keep me updated on your gains. Any question in the future i'm here. You are what you eat!
this is a bulk that i wrote for another cat on here, its what i follow when im bulking.
6am meal 1: 8 eggs scrambled with 6oz of lean ground beef smothered in cottage cheese. or i imagine you could make a pretty dank savory sauce with greek yogurt. two cups of oatmeal, i go by precooked cups. shitton of oatmeal anyway.
9am meal 2: 8-12oz of cottage cheese or greek yogurt with a 8-10oz of chicken breast. and like 10-12oz of potatoes or equivalent amount of white rice some sort of carb like that. maybe throw a dill sauce made with greek yogurt over the spuds.
12pm meal 3: 12 oz of red meat such as flank steak or ground beef with two cups of white rice i like two brown ground beef and throw it on the rice with some salsa and some cottage cheese. but u don't like cottage cheese so again greek yogurt or something.
3pm meal 4: i i usually work out at around five so this is my pre workout meal, i know some people cant handle a lot of food right before the gym so maybe get a monster shake in instead. 12oz of chicken breast and another two cups of white rice with salsa and shit mixed in and maybe 50grams of whey protein.
6pm meal 5: i get about 200grams of carbs in anyway i can and quickly. i like hash browns mounded with cheddar and some of the oatmeal to go bars warmed up. pretty tasty, my favorite meal of the day usually.
7pm meal 6: 12oz of red meat and another 2 cups of white rice or spuds. prepared how you like, with another 30grams of whey. i usually make my shake with a half quart of strawberry ice cream and some bananas.
9pm meal 7: 10oz of chicken breast and two cups of brown rice or oatmeal, it seems to digest slower through the night, keeps me from wanting to tear my girls head off in the morning when i wake up or having to get up and cook something in the night. and 50grams of casein protein. I try and fit in some bullshit after that for the next hour or so before i go to bed.
I usually snack pretty consistently throughout the day as well, mixed nuts, candy bars, and lots of milk and soda. idk i dont really keep track of my macros i just eat a lot. hopefully this helps bro.
EDIT: if you run out of room in your gut for veggies take animal paks, not even close in nutrients but its somethin.
This sounds delicious +1
That doesnt seem like much of a bulk. seems like you need to do some more research my friend.
Looks almost like my cutting diet. Lets start at breakfast! 3 whole egg, 6 whites and 1oz low fat sharp cheese, 2 cups of oatmeal w/2% milk, 1 slice whole wheat bread and a piece of fruit.
16oz water
1040 kcals!
the eggs are great source of hdl cholesterol used to create every cell in your body, and the oatmeal and dairy complete a 21 chain of essential amino acids your body doesn't already make, so you can def turn that into muscle tissue, i'd trash the bread and and cheese, cheese is just milk fat and oil with some good bacteria, flavor adding only.
