Hydration and Electrolytes during Workout

ad

I take medication that will dehydrate and cause cramping unless I consume water all day. Not a problem.

When I workout, I need extra electrolytes to compensate for all the water. I've added potassium, magnesium and sodium supps to help with the intense muscle cramping, but it wasn't doing the trick.

I was told I needed to add a little juice or a little gatorade to my water during workout to help transport nutrients into the muscle's to keep from cramping. This has helped a little but, still not enough. I don't want the extra sugar, or carbs they bring with it.

I like monster low-carb but trying to stay away from caffeine and extra stimulants as well as cost. Beta-Alanine, Taurine, Potassium, Pickle Juice?

Any thoughts on keeping it in balance so I can get hydrated and keep the cramping minimal while keeps sugars and carbs in check.

So far, from all the reading, pickle juice is winning.

Is the cramping from just weight stack or cardio as well? Have you tried pedialyte? Full of electrolytes and no sugars...great hangover helper. I know you're cutting but keeping cramp free is most important. Small dose of sugar wont kill the goals. Weights Burns only sugar and your full daily meals are clean.

It's mostly from weight. Muscle cramps, mostly hamstrings during workout and then in my brachioradialis post workout, when my forearm is pronated, like when I wash my head. And these fuckers cramp so bad I have to sometimes use my other hand to bring it back down!

I'm going to check the pedialyte out. Thanks.
