Scientific reason why some drugs don't work?

ad

Can someone tell me the scientific reason why two people can take the same drug and it might not work for one person. For instance for psych meds a person might have to try different meds untill they find one that works, and in reference to steroids some guys I know say no matter how many times they have tried tren it does nothing for them yet others get great gains, same with some people and anadrol. My friend says anadrol does nothing, legit stuff but dbol works wonders, just wanna know scientifically what makes a drug have no effect on someone but then works for someone else? In my case I find I don't do good with test only I don't get quality gains but npp even in small doses does wonders for me. I am not talking about sides I'm asking why some drugs in people don't actually do anyrhibg

Just one of many reasons but research; cytochrome p450 enzymes

Genetics are the future of medicine and nutrition. With the human genome being mapped, everything will be prescribed based in the persons genome. I just hope I get to witness it in my life time. It's going to be so exciting!

I know this isn't a very scientific answer, and I still scratch my head over it every time I think back on it, but the answer that my dad used to give me to practically every question I ever asked when I was growing up, relating to "how come" or "why", was......"because".

Personally, I think he just didn't have a plausible answer.

Every one reacts differently to medications and dosage. That's why docs try you out on meds to see how you respond. There's no one size fits all.

Psych meds are different mate, if they dont work you dont have the condition its intended to treat- example- doctor gives you zoloft because your " depressed" 3 months later no change- you werent depressed maybe you had a panick disorder or bi polar etc etc.

Its not much of a scientific answer due to the fact I don't have a degree in biology, endocrinology, sports medicine, physiology etc... list goes on. But my opinion is each person has a different DNA, you have your own unique chemical make up. Which means, your body is going to react, break down and absorb a chemical substance much more differently than someone else.

As "asklepios616" mentioned, people react differently to different things. Some people get an allergic reaction to peanuts, while others don't. Some people can digest dairy, while others cant. You have people who can gain 13lbs just off test alone and then you have people who are lucky to gain 4lbs off test alone. Its how your body reacts to a foreign substance.

And this is why you shouldn't go off of what people regurgitate. You have to experiment yourself, figure out which dosage with what substance works best for you. You also have to figure out when stacking, how much of a dosage you need to drop or add, when adding in another substance so they can both work in conjunction with one another.

Well that was just my opinion, I kind of veered off topic a little but ehh, hopefully it painted somewhat of a picture with what I was thinking (:
