New here and looking for pointers on 1st cycle

ad

Hey everyone,

I'm thinking about starting a cycle of AAS once I reach my plateau and would like as much advice or places to go to for research as possible.

A little background information:
I never really started lifting until I was 19 years old, and until that point I was only 135 lbs at 5'11". Since then I've lifted off and on due to non-lifting injuries, but have managed to get up to my current weight of 210 lbs at around 12 %bf and age 27.
I'm really interested in trying a cycle of AAS once I plateau, which I realize might now be for awhile, but I want to get started with research as soon as possible.

Any information or sources would be greatly appreciated as I am a complete noob right now.

Thanks

Whats ur body type?

I've got pretty wide shoulders and a waist of around 31 inches. I'm a pretty easy gainer until I hit my plateau, which right now is about 215. After I break my plateau it seems like I can gain about 20 lbs past that until I plateau again.

Diet modification and cardio, first. Meet ur goal for BF reduction, then cycle, if u believe it is still warranted. IMO, thats a healthier approach. Sometimes first cycles are the most impressive. If thats the case, i'd rather see u get down to 6-8% thru diet, cardio and resistance training, first. U may like what u see and not want to change. But, if u want more, at least u built and constructed a base that AAS will enhance with a positive impact. 6% is attainable with carb restriction 80-100g/day for your body type. Minimum 300g/d of protein and 120/d MUFAs/PUFAs. Cardio HIIT 20 mins 2-3x/wk and lifting regimen. Lifting regimen could alternate every six weeks.between pyramid and straights sets. I would start off with six weeks of straight sets with min-mod weight, high reps and 30" rests, targeting back, legs, and chest doing compound lifts (dead lifts, squats, bench press). After six weeks, switch to pyramid regimen and keep the press, squat, dead lift routine increasing weight and dropping reps each set. Other ideas for pyramid routines would be Dorian's Blood and Guts.

Research Harris Benedict Equation and calculate ur BMR at maintenance and with activity.

FR sent.

I appreciate both of your replies. Right now my diet is crap, I pretty much make sure I get 350+ grams of protein and then eat whatever. I am trying to get this under control though, just need more time in the day!

As far as training goes: I lift Mon and Thurs is chest and tris, tues and fri is shoulders and legs, and wed and sat is back and bis.

My goals right now are to drop bf% and also gain muscle. I'd like to get back down to around 6% bf but maybe stay around 215-220, although I wouldn't mind being heavier. I also want to just be all around healthier than what I am now, especially by getting on a good diet.

I'm not sure if anabolics are for me, but I also don't want to rule them out completely. I just want to do as much research as possible from credible sources and from those with experience.

Getting to 6% BF unless you're hitting the stage seems an unrealistic target. Do you realise how low that is? Maintains it for any period of time is very very difficult, in fact nearly impossible. Looking at your profile pic and your stats I'd suggest you're underestimating your current BF, it's higher than 12%.

Your goal is to gain muscle and lose BF. Are you bulking or cutting? Right now you're talking about doing both, which generally leads to disappointment. I'd suggest you pick a simple goal, build your diet and training schedule on that basis rather than this current approach.

He is higher than 12, maybe 15-18. I provided some info for him. Do u think its adequate?

I have no issue with this guy running a cycle, he's got a bit of shape to him and done some homework. I'd like to see him tidy his diet up first as by his own admission he eats crap. I'd also like to see a clear goal, this clean bulk / cut whilst gaining muscle thing is a new invention that really doesn't work. Think his perception of 6% BF is probably not what it truly is and it's not a realistic goal unless this guy on s stepping on stage.

Tis true...

You will need pre cycle blood work, which is the first thing. Glad u came here before starting anything. You can get bloodwork done thru ur doc, or we have options in here to choose from.

Can u post ur diet and lifting regimen?

And give us an idea about ur goals for ur over all health and well being.

Thank.u sir....Welcome to Eroids....

Info on sources is not a done thing, have a look read over the source pages as that will give a good indication where to shop.

It would be all to easy to just post a cycle that you can start with as that info is all over the Internet, what I would recommend you do is not only do some research on cycles but also on all the difference compounds and paying attention to the side effects of each as well the benefits and then when that's done then gain info on how to run a pct correctly.
If you take the mind set of doing things correctly and paying respect to anabolics you will go far I'm sure, but this I will say.....
Have a good long think about anabolics and if they are for you! Because I can almost assure you that once you start it will be a rocky road with highs and lows and at some point there will be a time when you think ....why did I start using!

This is not a talking down and only a point of view from someone who knows and has experienced both the highs and lows

Good luck fella and please do things correctly
