My joints and tendons don't like test...now what?

ad

I am 40 yrs. 5' 11" 212lbs.

Just finishing up third cycle all of which have been the same. 600 mg test e a week (300 mg pinned every 3.5 days). I use hcg after week three 500 mg a week. I do run arimidex at .25 mg every other day more for water retention than anything (aromisin makes my joints hurt like hell)

I hardly see any gains for about 5 to 6 weeks just water gain. Week 7 and 8 I start to see amazing gains in the mirror and in the gym. About the same time I start to make progress my joints and tendons start to hurt. By week 9 it is quite painful and weeks 10-12 I can only lift once a week and I am sore all the time. This is very frustrating because just when Im starting to see results I am unable to work out.

I do a standard PCT with nolva and clomid and recover without a problem. I take 6 months off between cycles.

I would like to keep cycling but need advice on other cycles. I have never used orals or anything but test e. I have tried scrapping the AI and the hcg and it makes no difference with the joints and tendons. I take termeric and MSN for joint support, it doesn't help. I drink over a gallon of water a day. I don't lift heavy I rep 225 6 sets of twelve on bench.

I need some help here guys! I know test needs to be the base of any cycle so what do I do here. I'm not looking to do tren or anything crazy. I want slow steady gains minus the joint and tendon issues. I was thinking maybe EQ at 600 mg and Test E at 200 mg or less. Or maybe Primo but not too excited with the cost. I did exactly what everyone recommend 3 test only cycles. I know I now exactly how my body reacts and what to expect. Other than the tendons and joint pain absolutely no negative side effect other than a little extra achne. I wish I could keep things simple and stick with test only but I can't.

I know there has got to be someone with a similar response to Test that can point me in the right direction.

Gender surgery is always an option.

May be your getting your estrogen too low with your AI use. Have you checked?

This is what I thought was going on at first. This last cycle I didn't use an AI to rule out that being the cause. Once the joint and tendons started hurting I began using a low dose of arimidex to help with water retention. I do know what it feels like to crash your estrogen. Did it my fisrt cycle while trying to dial in the proper dose. It really sucks my back knees and elbows hurt like hell. It's quite a bit different than the tendon and joint issues I am currently experiencing. To answer your question directly, no I have not had bloods done mid cycle.

your tendons and ligaments do not grow as fast as your muscles. when they are hurting like that thats a sign that your body is warning you. it will only get worse in time. do you drink joint juice or glucasamine. our bodys are not meant to life heavy weights. years and years of abuse on your body will finally take its toll. its a sigh take it easy for a few weeks lift a little lighter. if you are intent on doing another cycle look into test and deca cycle. deca should help with your joint pains but beware deca will shut you down especially at your age if you run it to long.

I do take glucasamine. It doesn't help. I realize muscles grow much quicker than tendons. I don't feel that is the issue here. It is a direct response to the testosterone. I have tried switing to once a week injection without any lifting. About 2-3 days after pinning my joints and tendons will become inflamed. This will begin to subside over the next 4 days. This leads me to believe this is my body's response to the test. Take the test out of the equation and do a heavy SARMS cycle I have no Tendon issues with good results but unbearable sides in other departments.

I have played around with this for three cycles. It seem once my test levels reach a certain point my tendons and joints are going to hurt. That's why I'm thinking I need to figure out a new cycle with very little test in it.

There is some good first hand info about low test cycles in here.

Thank you! That's exactly the kind of info I am looking for.

I know I'm going to catch hell here but the only blood work that is available to me is from the doctor. I see my doctor once a year for a checkup i time this visit 3 months after cycle. I have him do bloodwork at that time to verify my test isn't dropping generally at 425. I can't ask my doctor to do bloods mid cycle with test levels through the roof.

My workout is as follows

Day 1
Warm Up
Squats 6 sets 12 reps
Calf raises 6x12
Leg throws 3x20
Back extensions 6x12
Back Rows 6x12
Lunges 3x40
Wall Squats
Decline Pullovers 6x12
Back fly's 6x12
Hip Sled 3x12
Back (pick two super sets) 5x10
Bipeps (pick two super sets) 5x 10

Day 2
Push Ups
Dips
Bench 6x12
Inc. Bench 6x12
Chest Fly's 6x12
Plank
Dec. Bench 6x12
Skull Crushers 6x12
External Rotation 6x12
Shrugs 6x15
Alternating Shoulder Press 6x12
Triceps (pick two) 5x10
Partial military press 6x12

Day 3-4
Rest or incline walk cardio

Day 5
Similar to day 1

Day 6
Similar to day 2

Day 7-8
Rest incline walk cardio

I take very short rests between sets. I lift light but will generally go to failure on my last two sets. These workouts take about 2 hours. I don't change them much off cycle maybe drop the sets down to 5 and a little less weight. No tendon problems. I did have to take a month off after last cycle for tendons to feel better.

Might want to look into low volume high intensity training. You have a lot of volume in your current routine, might be the cause of your pain.

SirPumpAlot's picture

I have thought about that. This routine work off cycle with slightly less volume. I'm not sure the added volume is necessary while on cycle.
