Just ending my first cycle
ad
I've been on Test E @500mg a wk for 10 wks now. 2 more weeks to go.
Starting weight of 160Lbs-10%bf, I'm now up to a consistent 180-183 every morning
(I'm thinking I'm around12-13%bf now)
All my weights(Squats, deads, bench) have gone up dramatically as well as all other exercises except one....... cardio.
Because of the new weight/o2 demands, my cardio has dropped... alot.
My question is: when I start my PCT, should I be training similar to how I was on cycle? If I start doing more endurance and cardio based exercises, will it be detrimental to keeping my gains?

I dont PCT no more but even on trt I do sort of the opposite of tread. For me theres no way I can lift heavier off cycle, wish I could but thats a dream somewhere far away for me. Generally what works best for me is to use the workouts but cut the sets in half, drop the weight about 30% and add reps from on cycle 8 to off cycle 12 to 14. so rather than running 40 sets of heavy bench im running 20 higher rep sets. this gets me in and out of the gym in about 35 to 40 minutes and gets the muscles full of blood.
tread-mI should probably clarify "lift heavier". I use it as a relative term given you likely can't lift heavier weight off cycle than you could on cycle. For me its about lifting heavy "for the conditions as they are" with less sets running less time. Totally agrre you have to pump full of blood so my workouts would include lighter for a few sets pumping full, heavy to failure and back to maybe 3 sets lighter to make sure I finish off the muscle fully pumped after heavy stress. This can be done in staircasing even which I happen to like as well. Another thing I would prefer in pct is to have less time between sets for quicker pump/stress cutting gym time rather than the linger we tend to use in a full longer workout on cycle. I don't think what you're saying is opposite I think its maybe a slight variation in weight just a bit lower and totally agree, one has to see what works. Truth is we try to take out all the failure for these guys and the best lessons they will learn sometimes will be the result of failure. Maybe they use a method a little closer to mine and fail in pct and use yours and succeed or the opposite or something inbetween. By now you know what works for you and I for me but the best part is as you say, we don't have to worry about it....lol i should be more clear as to the relative term in "heavier" and probably should emphasize you have to pump those muscles full or they will shrink.
you laid that out very well bro.. i think from this the reader should should be able to put together a post/cycle routine that includes weight and a fair amount of intensity then gradually tapering the final sets into pump/flush movements to fully load the muscles with blood and nutrients to stave off catabolism.. doing this style of workout combined with the protein loading protocol learned whilst on cycle could/should result in even further gain in muscle density and hardness, added quality rest is also another big thing to bring into play at this stage, another trick that i use to stay mentally strong is to still think big, stand big, even sit down big all this helps to focus the mind and also helps to move around with correct posture, nothing worse than a heavily muscled frame lumbering around like a pit bull wanting a shit lol... also off time is the perfect chance to sharpen up nutritional skills to make the next cycle even more productive, favourite comment time again every action creates a reaction! this is so so true in our body manipulating lifestyle, so guys dont get deppressed because the cycle as ended use this time well and get ultra focused and even more knowledgable about compounds, nutrition, training principles and a strong self beleif that the next cycle will be far far more productive than the last..good luck to you all.. now go eat that fukn gym LOL...LOL.
Just got to thinking all you lucky bastards!! with tread, hollywood, roid noid, and myself between us we have approx 200yrs worth of knowledge to share lol NUFF SAID!!!!
Who hit the wrong trigger on treads post lol all you big fuks with sausage fingers...
I'm with vik on this one. I have always trained with the same intensity only exception being the weight pushed and more days off. I guess the best thing for you to do is listen to your body it will guide you. Some recover a lot better then others.
tread-mIn pct you want to lift heavier, less reps and get out of the gym quicker so you don't burn up all your gains while your natty is rebooting. Eat big big on protein. You won't keep gains you got from one diet by slipping back into old habits. I suspect you are holding water given the "cardio" issue. This will make it harder for your heart to beat hence tthe less cardio situation. I might suggest clearing the water pre-pct so you have a cleaner pct run and that means hit the adex or aromasin at a half tab eod from now to the end of cycle, stop all drinks other than water and drink plenty of it and remove the salt from your diet in this close. Water is gone and you are ready for a successful pct run. Real natty will be restored in about 8 weeks post cycle so stay on the big lifts here.
Thanks tread-m. I have been taking [email protected] EOD since week 2. diet is really clean so the only fluids are water, coffee/tea and juice . the only water I feel I could be holding would be IM. The cardio issue I believe is due more to newly developed exercise induced asthma(since week 3 of cycle) and new bodyweight demands than fluid retention, although my resting BP is sitting about 135/85 most days. So eat and push a bit more but don't over do it. Got it!
People have different veiws here,, my way is to keep training with the same intensity and also still trying to up the weight.... this works for me because i am a maniac, others like to back it down a little, i think you need to try to find what works best for you bro.
tread-mBig thumb day for you? Lol
Not me bro this time but you can have some cos i fukn luv ya
tread-mDamn, 14 people climbed on this wbhile I was typing! Welcome to the greatest site on earth gents, I call it "The Big Show".
LOL...it was empty when i dropped in lmaoooo......
"the Big Show" is mine bro ((LOL))
tread-mWe're family, we share! Lol
providing your pct is on point just try and keep things pretty much the same maybe eat a wee bit cleaner if you intend to do more endurance just up carbs and that should help
(IMO) Training during PCT should be held at a steady maintenance level... SOME say train harder but (IMO) you stand a greater risk of injury. (EGO and mentality tends to get swole while ON, too)
FACT: You will lift heavier while ON than while OFF.
PCT is your gradual slide back to mortality ;)
LOL....LOL that word MORTALITY puts the shivers up me brother lol i like the other option better ......
I've been cruising this last stretch so I've only been reduced to Demi-God ((LOL))
Same here bro just hit 2 pins earlier first day of new run so feeling pretty good right now......
