high lipase, high amylase, low iron
got a queston you may or may not have an idea about:
Working ER, just got labs done. Iron is only 20! Less than half what it should be. Sky high lipase and amylase with NO pain (pancreatitis...don't drink)....could a LONG ass test cycle cause this? Thanks man, I am going to my doc, but cannot figure this out! Was not like this a month ago
I am 62 and blast and cruise, but mainly blast...any ideas? thanks guys, next stop is MD but as an RN I wanted to see if it was the test poss first. Doing about 600 mg of Test weekly with 25 mg daily of Proviron and sometimes Novladex (2-3 times per week)
Ran out of test about 2 months ago and was off for over a month....not fun...did Proviron alone then, been back on test (and some test P) for about 4 weeks and I've noticed my erections are about 3/4 what they should be...wtf?
Been out of Proviron for about 3 weeks. Got some on the way. Man, Ive been an ER RN for over 32 years and cannot figure this one out. I would immed think pancreatitis but no pain...at all...and don't drink
thanks in advance, and YES, i will see a doc...lol

Well at 62 with low iron the first thought I have is occult blood loss. Have you had your screening colonoscopy ? As far as the Amylase and lipase these are pretty specific to pancreas, as you probably know. I haven't heard or read that testosterone falsely elevates those levels. I would get a stat repeat to rule out some kind of lab error then if they are still elevated I would recommend some imaging to evaluate your Pancreas, liver, gallbladder and biliary tree. A CT scan would be where I would start at your age. Best of luck! Btw BPH in no way can elevated lipase and amylase.
Old head, so right...I repeated today and all levels are normal. You would think I would have known that, but was a hosp lab so I thought it was right...now I wonder about the patients we treat on their results..
Great info from someone who KNOWS medicine and I apprecite it man. When its me, I lose all perspective...lol
I am the same way, when it's me all my knowledge and logic goes out the window! Lol
ty bro
hey mate, your 62 years old, if I were you I would be looking in the good old prostates direction first, then gall bladder, yes the test can do this, if you had pancreatitis, you would be in a world of pain, as for your dick problems lol, its more than likely estrogen related due to using nolvadex as your ai, also your shutdown. but yeah id be looking at the prostate if I were you, and the iron is a deficiency, make sure you get vitamins in you mate , good luck
ty bro, I appreciate it....can hyperplasia of prostate cause high enzymes? Will check it oiy
