Prednisone side effects?
ad
So in prep for my first cycle, I went to the doc to get a checkup and my bloods done. Bloods came back, my baseline is good.
But found out I have chronic sinusitis, which is keeping me from breathing properly through my nose.
Now I have three weeks of Prednisone and anti-biotics to take care of this.
I figure I'll delay my cycle start until I'm off it all; but how bad will this set me back? Prednisone is a corticosteroid, will it cause muscle loss by itself? Should I keep working out while on it, or should I do as little as possible to prevent a catabolic environment?
Advice is appreciated, thanks!

I think Prednisone is a nasty drug BUT if you need it then by all means
follow your doctors instructions. Just something you will want to use briefly.
AnonVery Nasty I never dose it like Dr. Tells me
Also watch your Sugar intake Corticoids fuck with your insulin a lil bit
(X2) JK703 the cycle can wait. But Train your ass off. I have been on Prednisone for 7 years at 60mg a day. Yes it does cause muscle loss in long term use. But I have found out with training and diet this is not a problem. Keep your protein intake to the max drink water 1 gal a day as standard protocol. Never stop working out unless your dead. There are so many people out there working out everyday with a disability. That alone should keep them out of the game but they push themselves to have some quality in life. So push on Brother. Never quit. Sarcoidosis of the lungs stage 4. I never quit and have run cycle after cycle and feel better than life. The Doc told me that this could never be done and that I would never hit the stage. Little did he know. Training my ass off to compete next summer. Take the good days and run with them. LOL
Goddam man. That's impressive.
Right, no rest for the wicked. Back to the gym and doubling down on a clean diet!
Thanks for the replies!
Ive had chronic sinus issues all my life. Most of the side effects from prednisone including the catabolic properties people worry about are from longterm administration of the drug. You're on a short burst with a gradual taper I presume and you may have some bloat, feel irritable, some minor things but will go away when you finish. I would continue to train as you feel you are up to it. There's no reason to specifically wait until you've taken all the medicine.
AnonFirst of all I am not a Dr, physician, nurse or medical professional of any kind, But Iam someone with LIFE LONG EXPERIENCE WITH PREDNISONE, METHYLPREDNISONE and it's relative Decatron. (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH DECA)
With that being said I would wait for your infection to clear before you cycle because that alone will effect your gains. Now several athletes have used small doses of Prednisone to open up airways improve breathing and lung functions. Yes Prednisone is an immunosuppressant and is know to and DOES break down muscle. I was in the hospital on 350mg per day of Prednisone and 100mg per day of Anadrol with hemoglobin of 2 yes I was on life support.
I have run a simple testosterone only cycle while on a lower dose of prednisone due to recurring pain from a high school wrestling injury. It may antagonize your gains, cause increase appetite just be sure to monitor your vitals while on it because it does increase blood pressure, weight gain and water retention. Just be smart use caution and to be honest wait until you're better before you cycle anything. Health and Safety are key here and I think most members and pros on here will agree with my response. Good luck and feel better!
Woah, hemoglobin of 2? Damn.
My dose is super mild by comparison, it's 30mg 1 week, 20mg the next week and 10mg for a final week.
Thanks for the reply man, I appreciate it!
