+ 3 Noob questions

ad

Hey everyone,

I have a few noob questions that maybe you folks can help me with. I've been working out solid for near 2 years, clean diet...not eating quite enough at this point. I HAVE NOT done blood test so far, which I know I need to do...scheduled for after the first of the year. I'm 6'3", currently weighting in at 255, wear 36" pants. I'm a few months away from being 25...yes I know my age....please read this all before you judge me. I've done a ton of research, I am familiar with PCT and different types of AAS. My original thought was solely winny, being that I am already a big guy. My concern is getting cut, genetically I am not vascular...very thick skinned. Now, you can see veins in tops and bottom of arms and a few in my legs....but that's it...no bulging out by any means. My abs are all there but still under a little fat. After research here and several other places, I realize that a winny cycle only isn't such a good idea. Putting everything in perspective, I've come to the conclusion that I probably need to just tighten up my diet and wait...a long time before I really look into cycles.

I guess what I'm asking for is opinions, I know mine...and if you read this, you do to. Am I thinking on the right basis or should I reconsider/recalibrate my thoughts? I have no actual experience with with AAS, never done anything other than various snake oil supplements from nutrition stores and protein. Hope this is cool to post, everything I've read here is solid...just want a opinion from some guys with real experience.

Thanks!

Hey pal - I'm also gonna give you a plus 1 for the open mind. You've gotten solid advice here about focusing on diet and avoiding aas for now. Regarding keeping track of your macros, a great site I use to keep track of my macros is: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/

If you've got a smart phone, download their app. I personally haven't found a better way to keep track of macros and keep my diet on point. Good luck!

kdubd's picture

But one question, do you use/go off the suggested calore intake/deficit deal? Just curious as some of these apps I've seen appear to show much less calorie intake than a athlete would require...in my opinion anyway.

kdubd's picture

Respect man, thank you. I will look in to mfitnesspal. A good friend swears by it, just never installed it

Thanks man. I'd rather ask than just jump into something I can screw up bad. I almost taliked myself into taking the plunge too soon....you guys sure have made me feel welcome and reassured.

kdubd's picture

hey guys, thanks for the input. It's sounds like you guys are backing up completely where I am as far as mind set/opinion on it. I've been reading on here quite a bit and will continue...I came down from 305lbs and I know I've got a ways to go.

treadinontren's picture

305 to 255 is great you're a little over or under half way there...tbh to get down to 200-210 and stay there lean until you're ready to add muscle is going to require a solid diet one that you can live with day in and day out not just a hey I used this diet a starved myself down to 200...you have to rethink your relationship with food...just food for thought no pun intended

kdubd's picture

Thanks for the words, sir. My biggest problem is that I love to cook...during the day at work I do great, home is my struggle. I think diet is mostly a mental thing for me, simply because I've always been big...and born with a mc double in my hands if you know what I mean!

treadinontren's picture

Listen to everyone below, they're on point 255 and 36 jeans you're likely mid to high 20s for bf% AAS without a proper will only make u have more bf and the sides can be very hard to combat at that bf%. With all that said

You're almost 25, get your diet and routine down in the next few months, drop down to 15% or lower bf% then come in here and we can all talk...you've got a few months before 25 show us you're serious by loosing weight and dialing in your routines and diets

Also keepdping research, winny only tells me you're not quite there yet with your research. In a few months join the beginner's forum and research away...good luck sir

You're not vascular as your BF is higher, the fact that you can't see your abs clearly tells you that's the case. Steroids aren't going to change that, diet and exercise will.

You admit that you are not eating enough at this point so you need to learn how to eat right and make solid gains with food first. It is not just the quantity of food you eat but also the quality that will dictate your gains. Crappy processed foods can give you the cals you need but also screw up your insulin sensitivity so you will be putting on unwanted fat. Bottom line is to learn how to manipulate your body composition with food and exercise before you even consider using AAS. You will be rewarded 10fold when you do decide to use AAS.

Welcome! And good to see someone post with an open mind. I'd honestly recommend you get your diet in check first, and see how far you can take that. Post up pour diet and your workout regimen so we can see how you're doing and where you can improve bro.

Remember, AAS don't make you big or shred you up, your diet and exercise do.

First of all, congratulations on getting to 255 from 305. That shows some serious dedication on your end my friend. Your workout seems good, but as it appears to be a little more cross fit oriented I will leave it to other members to comment on it. You do the MMA workout everyday? The one thing I do notice is how often you hit the same muscle groups. I'd think it was a little too often, but again I'm not a cross fit expert.

I see you stick to a good diet for the most part (dinners are what they are. As long as you portion the different groups properly it will do until wife jumps on board!) what kinds of meat is it usually? I also am not sure about the sausage at 11am, as I don't know what quality they are (in my experience sausages are very high in fat. I'm polish, so I grew up with an abundance of sausage). Could you possibly replace it for something leaner?

Also, do you know what your macro intake is like daily?

kdubd's picture

I'm not sure on the macros man. Not a crossfit guy, just like higher intensity...trying to shred this weight. That's also why I do higher reps rather than more sets. I train in MMA...I enjoy sparring and such...I do changed up my workouts, typically every month or so...this is what I've been working since dec 1st. Dinner meat is typically ground turkey or chicken

here's the nutri facts from the sausage i've been eating-3.5 servings is normally what I eat

Haha sorry man. The bear crawls remind me of the cross fit at the gym, but good on you for doing them. The MMA training definitely is a major plus, in terms of cardio and endurance and will kee you shedding. It's good to change up your workout and keep the body guessing, keeps it on edge. I don't need to tell you any of this because you've clearly got your shot figured out man!

I would personally sub the sausages out. You're eating a lot of fat content and none of it is particularly any good, plus with sausages you never really know what the meat comes from... It's all ground together with lord knows what. I'd say sub that out for something leaner, some fish for example would do you good because the fats from fish would do you much better over the sausage. The sausage is also extremely high in sodium (32%) and you should really be watching the sodium intake.

Always drink a ton of water. I recommend putting two or three green tea teabags in a gallon of water and drinkingn that during the day if you're looking for something a little flavored and beneficial.

I'd also recommend paying attention to your intake over the week and jotting down your macro totals each day.

Brother, thanks for your info. You're the kind of guy I was looking for in terms of feedback. I'll keep hitting it and get this diet in check...go from there. Thanks again man
