+ 10 Lots of Gear - not looking that great

ad

I'm sure this is going to kill my karma but I've got to say it.

It seems like there are lots of people taking huge amounts of gear and not really looking that great. I see some people's cycles and they are juicing like pros but looking like they don't really even train. I'm not saying anything to anyone specifically. Lots of you guys are looking awesome. But...

Am I the only one who's noticing this? Or mentioning this?

I think people need to get their diets in check, training in check, sleep in check, then maybe consider adding a little enhancement. I probably turned to gear way to quickly and wish someone had taken the time to discuss this with me.

It seems to me that many people are encouraging huge drug regiments to people that just need to eat right and lift properly.

I would feel bad if I were telling people to get all juiced that had no place even touching the stuff for probably 8 months if ever.

I'm not a fan of telling people what to do but why isn't anyone mentioning the obvious??

Yes, this is true. One conclusion that I have reached is that the really big dudes, in addition to being genetically gift to respond to training stimilus are also genetically gifted to be very excellent chemical responders as well. That is why you see some pros that have really crappy form in their videos that no one else could ever gain from if they trained in that style and form. They are excelling because their chemical response is good enough to overcome their crappy training. Some people like Levrone are just born to blow up on the chemicals. Remember how he stopped training 8-9 months every year and then would come back to blow up in 12 twelves and win shows. Amazing.

I hear ya dude. I have a friend same height as me and is taking 850mg of npp, 250 test and he's big but no hard definition and is only 25lbs heavier than me (im dieting and have a smaller frame) The muscles don't look hard or full. He doesn't do any cardio when "cutting" and eats like garbage and never has any intention of competing. And his form is terrible, benches half way, rounds his back all the time and that drives me crazy ( I trained with old school power lifters and one of the smartest trainers I ever met with form so I'm a stickler for form)

This is real shit right here...Its all about Diet and Technique. I hardly ever see anyone do correct form at the gym, they don't contract their muscles, just move some weight around

9 times out of 10 I believe the short cut is what it boils down to. Now in saying this I'm not pointing the finger at any member on this site or anyone I see at my gym using. However I myself am guilty of the short cut. I'm not a big guy by any means, 5' 10" 210lbs and sitting around 15% bf. What got me on the AAS train was a guy I used to work out with talking about how great it was when ran a few cycles in his late 20's. That set me out on the hunt for information and gear.

Ha. I was thinking the same thing and then ran across this thread. I'm about to post a pic in the next couple days and you'll see what I mean. More of any compound doesn't mean better. Hell, I'm only running 200mg/wk of Pentadex and I look more jacked than many of the other guys running over 500mg/wk (and I'm in my 40s). More doesn't mean better. Faster doesn't mean better. In the age of instant gratification, people need to learn that success takes time. Be in it for the long haul and you'll be glad you did.

Thanks for speaking up.

We tell 'em all the time mate. The problem is invariably by the time they're on a steroid source site they have often already made up their mind and you can only influence a fairly small percentage of them.

When I started out in this game steroids were used on a much smaller scale. These days there are lots of guys looking for instant results without the hard work. 2 days ago in the gym I had some young lad of 18-20 ish ask me about his cycle he's running. He's been training for, (wait for it), nearly 6 months now and "can't make any more gains naturally". He must weigh 150lbs, 6ft tall. EAT!

This is the mentality of a lot of people these days. Why put in years of hard work????what can you do?

robb's picture

Yes wise words indeed. I see lots of people at my gym who've done a literally a few months of training and jump on the gear and think it's all good now, after a few month there no where to be seen, I think coming off gear kills em as there only reality of strenght has been thro steroids. Not natural talent that takes a few years to build, what ever your sport or goals maybe. Dont like the fact I'll be 39 in a matter of days....do like the fact I didn't try anything till I was 27.... Started gym at 19.

Well I dunno about killing your karma.... I'm inferring you're not talking about the use of gear in a steady, disciplined manner for life quality improvement or TRT/HRT or the people who've paid their dues in terms of time and training. That covers quite a few people. Besides, you're stating an opinion, but the tone doesn't come off as being dick headed or disrespectful like some past posts that rubbed people the wrong way. You're also not picking on anyone specifically.

There are valid points being made for certain cases about OVER USE in terms of quantity and the number of compounds. However, keep in mind, as mentioned already, some people could be using for other athletic activities and won't necessarily have a bodybuilders physique. Strength, power, and conditioning are usually advantageous...size and/or mass not necessarily so.

+1 because a lot of people won't like this post. You can't get too "real" on this site otherwise people and their fanclubs get all pissy.

Pmob's picture

Who said we are all here for bodybuilding ? There are many Athletes on here ! Just because someone is taking gear don't mean they need to be huge ! +1 for voicing your opinion !

My favorite aspect of Test is the functionality I get from it. I can ride my bike or skateboard for hours a day and do it more accurately and precisely. Bodybuilding is new to me, but I'm slowly getting better at it. Don't get me wrong I wanna weigh about 250 someday. That is cycles ahead though.

yeegits's picture

this is true.... for example look at lance armstrong....

Pagan's picture

Have to agree brother.. I started a cycle to help with strength and recovery. A little size is nice but every pound I gain I have to haul around for 12+ miles running up hills, climbing walls, crawling through mud and shimmying up ropes..

Always good to hear someone voice their opinion in a respectful tone though, and maybe point out the elephant in the room.
