Injection site increased swelling

I've done cycles 4 times a year for last 6 years. I've had pain at injection site for test prop and it went away I about a week. 17 days ago I took a shot of test prop that I've done before with the same bottle and developed pain at the injection site and a small lump. During the next few days after injection the lump started to widen on my glute and it's about the six of a brick and protrudes out 1 inch. Went to the Dr a week ago and told him what I did and his response was it's a hematoma and could take 6 weeks to heal and he can't drain it as its clotted blood. Sine he saw it, it's been growing and pain is severe. Has anyone had this challenge before?

davieboy1986Get back to doc if its been a week since you seen him and its still swelling and pain is worse. Sounds like you need anti-botics asap.
Doc really should of really perscribed in the first place as a precaution as you told him you injected at site always a chance of infection.Hope you get sorted

You should have been on antibx's for a week already....
Are you taking any other meds?
Doctor obviously. But if you won't, sit on a heating pad. They work wonders
i m not a doctor but i don't think you want to increase the blood flow to a hematoma...

Very true too. For the hematoma to be as large as described, OP would have had to hit an artery, while on a blood thinner....sounds more like an infection....hope he gets it fixed...
I cant believe the doc didnt prescribe antibxs......and your right, no heat, but ice for 15 mins is an option....maybe improper vial storage and injection technique not aseptic enough...
TronI did have this happen... TWICE.However, through experience I knew mine wasn't infected. The first time I rode it out and it took a month for the pain and swelling to go away. The second time I drained it. (Not recommended). I was inexperienced and unaware of the high risk of infection..fortunately it worked for me. I pinned myself with a syringe and when I pulled the syringe out blood literally squirted all over the bathroom..looked like a horror movie and the blood just kept squirting. I kept pouring alcohol on the site. Immediate relief and was fine a couple hours later. I could of gotten an infection doing this and you may if you try. It's not recommended. I was lucky though.
Wow ouch. I've done the same but in the syringe there was a a ml of white. The rest shot out in blood.
Doing it yourself is a very bad idea and we are both lucky we didnt for make it worse.

TronWell, the site was what was painful. All that pressure. My girlfriend at the time said she could actually see which side was bigger even when I had shorts on. I went to a doc first myself..he treated me like a drug addict. Wouldn't give me any pain meds and just had an attitude like "you did it to yourself". After his snuberry and NOT helping me he asked if he needed to go over the dangerous of aas usage. I grinned and said "No, I don't think you know as much about them as you think you do." Went home and just inserted the syringe..I didn't feel anything. It was a crazy site though. Seeing that blood squirting all over the sink and the mirror. But I could literally feel the pressure deflating and relief finally came.

TronIndeed..my goal was to inject aas..get an absess on purpose..then go to the doctor in hopes of narcotic pain meds lol. The fact they tend to look at aas users as junkies or drug users pisses me off.
I just love the judgemental doctors. They will help an Obease person who's abused their bodies much more severely, but turn their nose up at aas use. Hypocrites.
then i should consider myself lucky that the doc thinks i m obeast and keeps trying to send me to a nutritionist ;-)

it is true... they are too PC to say anything about weight pe se but I can see it on their faces and then it comes in the form of we think it might be a good idea for you to see the nutrionist and join the 'move' program .... it's great and it's free ;-)
TronWhy don't you just flex for them the next time they mention you seeing a nutritionist. ...and then tell them you think it would be a good idea to visit a weight room and join the "beast" program...it's not always great..and it's not free..but it's very rewarding.
lmao... i usually do wear larger sweatshirts when i go in ... last time i didn't the nurse kinda freaked out when he had to pin my delt ;-) the only doc who even mentioned gear was the shrink ;p

TronYes, and they will prescibe narcotics to ...not only obese patients..but people that just say they are over weight and need an appetite suppressant. My cousin who is a 21 year old female went to the doc for this reason..she said she needs help losing weight. He prescribed phentermine. An addictive stimulant. When someone says they need an appetite suppressant..A doctor should say "no, you need self discipline and to stop being lazy". Work out and eat right" ....but of course they wouldn't make any money that way would they? No, you need a trainer..not a doctor. I HATE..when someone says it's too hard to eat right and find time to excercise. That's simply saying "I'm lazy and want a magic pill". I even offered to train her for free and help with diet. In 12 weeks she could of looked like a different person..instead she's a few months in on phentermine and doesn't look too healthy...even picked up smoking cigarettes to handle her "nerves" caused by the drug...

TronRight, excercise would be a much more sufficient way to calm her nerves but that requires work.
Your doc is an idiot. Go somewhere else with someone competent and get some antibiotics quickly. Is it red and inflamed or just a painful lump?

It's not red but inflamed and it's gotten bigger in diameter. I've had a lump like a golf ball or a tennis ball when I first did test prop 6 years ago, but this is getting bigger each day. Skin is extremely hard and extremely censative to the touch.
Hmm well then it may not actually be infected... Then I don't know i would see another doc just to be sure but then I suppose waiting would be about all you can do. Sounds like your gear is just brewed badly

Yeah I was going off my experience of a moron dumping loads of BA in some test I used making me swell up. If it is a hematoma then yeah it would be the pinning itself that did it
You better see a different doc before it is too late, if it isn't already, or you might end up having a chunk of your ass cut out.
The Dr said since it's not red and I don't have a fever it's not an absess. Said it's hard due to clotted blood and takes up to 6 weeks to heal. The problem is that it's growing and hurting more approaching my lower back.
