AAS and male pattern baldness
ad
I have never run a cycle before. I do take 200mg of Test Cyp EW, and HGH (Saizen) daily, both from a doctor due to pituitary dysfunction. But I have never actually run high doses of any AAS. I am considering doing a cycle with Sustanon, Dbol and Tren... or maybe just 500-600 of Test C EW for my first one... but I am wondering about the risk of baldness. I am 29 years old and have a somewhat high hairline, but I do have a thick head of hair. Is this a side effect I should be concerned with? Does it take long term use to cause it, or can one cycle cause it? If do lose some hair as a result, is it permanent?
My father was balding in his 20s, but I am not.

Going from trt to sust, d-ball, and tren? You won't have to worry about the hair loss. The liver kidney and heart wont make it that long. Not that I recommend doing any thing but I would stick to your test c idea for a while. And like the other guys said if your predisposition is to loose it then yes it's going to speed it up.
The following is my understanding - I could be wrong, and am happy to be corrected.
'Is this a side effect I should be concerned with?' MPB is generally inherited. Men usually get their hair traits from the mother's side (although this is not always true) - so, look at your mum's fathers hair and that's a pretty good indication how your hair will look at his age. If you are genetically predisposed to MPB, then AAS will certainly exacerbate the condition.
'Does it take long term use to cause it, or can one cycle cause it?' Long term use will worsen it if you have a predisposition, and depending on the length of the cycle, one cycle can cause some hair loss.
'If do lose some hair as a result, is it permanent?' Once again, if you are predisposed genetically to MPB, any hair loss is generally permanent.
You're going to lose it anyway if you are genetically predisposed. That said, if you're not, Nizoral shampoo daily brings back the fullness if your hair thins. I don't bald, but many cycles thin my hair immensely. I take a few months off and wash my hair with Nizoral every day, and all is well.
Can u use nizoral during cycle to prevent it from happening?
Some good avice below.
Please, do not start with tren. Maybe never try tren. Not sure why people think it’s an option for casual, gym guy cycles.
Stick to test if you’re going to “cycle” for a while.
I’m on trt and I stick to it. Try gaining slow and steady and get your diet in check. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you dedicate yourself to this. Best of luck.
Bald is beautiful,... ....... why don't you just embrace it.
God only made a limited number of perfect heads,....... the rest He covered with hair.
That is... an amazing quote. You’re quite the scholar.
If you can't blind them with brilliance, (or the reflection off of a bald head),................baffle them with male bovine excrement (bull shit). Is the motto I live by.
Hair comes from the mother's side so if you have a uncle look at his hair line. I've been going bald since 20 I'm almost bald all the way on top cant wait I'm going to grow the horse shoe out long down to the top of my crack and pull off the free candy van driver also it will drive my wife nuts but fuck that bitch it's my hair
Screw her if she can't take a joke.
Lmao, well that's good. My mom's side doesn't have baldness. They all have thick hair.
Been on trt for 4 years. And yes, from an endocrinologist..
Stop right there. How long have you been on Dr prescribed trt. And is this from an actual clinical Dr
Been on trt for 4 years, and yes it's from an endocrinologist.
I think you can make great gains on that dose and increase food intake. 6'2" 195 pounds and bf not listed. More food more intense training and rest is all the advice I'd give. And if you were ready for a cycle test only 500 mg per week to see how you react. And that is if you are ready for a cycle. Post up a pic and the guys will give you guidance. But absolutely no tren and dbol for a first cycle.
I used one of those "hand sensor" body fat calculators. Not sure how accurate it really is. But it says 22%. I definitely have a little bit of a gut. Admittedly, I'm not in great shape. I'm not terribly skinny, but I'm thin in the arms. I have a very difficult time putting on mass. I'm eating a lot of complex carbs, fat, and protein. Another problem is that a muscle group will stay sore for 7-10 days. I take a very long time to recover. I also experience significant fatigue during sets. More than I should I think. Supplements I use:
Whey post workout and sometimes late at night when I wake up to piss
Dextrose post workout
Casein before bed
Creatine 5g/day
BCAAs pre and post workout
Glutamine before bed
Fish oil & vitamin C
Looking at your stats I think you fall into this category.

If you can't grow off of your trt dose right now, running a cycle is not going to do anything for you. With 200mg of test you should be growing at a fairly rapid rate given your current stats. The fact that you are not is screaming to me you that have little understanding on how to manipulate diet to grow let alone maintain mass and that is truly the name of the game here especially with AAS involved. Yep you will put on some extra weight increasing your dose, but that weight will be due to glycogen loading and will be long gone after the cycle ends and you are right back where you started. Doesn't matter how much steroids you take you can't grow let alone retain mass if you don't already understand how to do that. You need to prove to yourself that you know the fundamentals of growth through manipulating diet if you want to have any success using AAS.
Also something is not right if you are sore for 7-10 days after doing a workout. 3-4 days tops I could understand but no way for 7-10 days. That is not normal, no matter how hard you work out and you don't seem to be doing workouts that are too demanding. Significant fatigue during sets does not seem normal the way you are describing it either. You need to figure out what is going on there and I would be getting a complete checkup with bloodwork to see if something funky is going on. Trying to run a cycle now could really put you in the dirt.
Has he checked your thyroid?
They just drew blood yesterday and I asked him to check thyroid. I'll know early next week.
You don't need more aas. You need to dedicate time in the gym and concentrate on your diet. That height and weight with that bf means you have no base bro. Gym and diet. Trust me. And real food not protien shakes. Six solid food meals and maybe throw in a shake. Makwa. Look him up. Read his diet forums. Thank me later. But no more that trt dose until you have a solid foundation.
Just curious, why does one even need a "base" before AAS?
You will grow like a weed on gear. untill you hit your potential. Then what are you going to do if every thing else isnt in place. If the gains came from the drugs they will leave when the drugs are gone. Keepable is slow and steady. Based on nutrition and routine.
Steroids are NOT magic pills that make muscles grow. They are a tool to help them grow more.
Muscles grow from being worked.
I'll repeat that.
Muscles grow from being worked
Yes, I realize that you won't simply grow on AAS without training... My question is why do I need to have decent size first, before starting AAS. Why can't I just jump into it even though I'm not in stellar shape already?
The sides are exemplified with high bf. High BP estro and it can snowball on you quickly. Like I said. Stick to your trt dose. Get your gym routine set and check back with us in six months. I bet you'd be surprised at where you can get with that
More crazy talk...
Thank you for saving me the time to type that out.
I agree even at 200mg a week he should not be sore that long maybe he needs more potassium
Just a suggestion bro but I personally would cut out the Dextrose.. If your considering yourself overweight than u don't want those extra carbs bro.. And maybe try a descent pre workout with some caffeine.. Help you push through them workouts. . the soreness idk at your age you should be good to go after a day or2...I don't know what your training looks like but if your somewhat new the soreness will subside after a month or so than you'll heal quicker. . what's your training looking like
Day 1: back and biceps
Day 2: chest, shoulders, arms
Day 3: legs
Day 4: rest
Repeat.
For chest I do Flyes and sometimes bench, legs I squat or do leg press, shoulders I do dumbbell raises (lateral), and I do rows and barbell deadlifts for back
How long are ur rest periods and workouts? For me I realized I get very sore the less rest I take. My original split was chest/triceps, back, core/calves, shoulders/traps, biceps, legs and I needed the full week to recover. Long rests between sets. As I got more experienced I wasn’t as sore and decreased rest as needed. Pushing through sets sucking wind makes me hurt a lot worse than upping volume or intensity but that’s just me
I'm resting until I'm not stiff and sore anymore. And I lift for roughly 45 minutes.
I also mean rest between sets. The longer rest between sets I take the less sore I am. For example I would do a crazy long complicated workout that lasted 3 hours but with between 1 min to 3 minutes rest between sets. I scratched that as I became more experienced and found a less complex workout in less time makes me a lot more sore. So for you try doubling ur rest periods so ur workout is an hour and a half and see how sore u get. Density is a big factor in exercise that I feel is often overlooked
How long you been lifting for.. you could try to change your split it might help..I work a physical job so I hit each muscle once a week.. my split looks like this
M shoulders and traps
T back
W chest and core
Th arms
F legs
Weekend off
I learned over the years what works best for me and this seems to do it..I need the2 days off or I just don't recover good..I lift heavy almost always with my compound lifts but I also don't deadlift every week.. it just taxes me too much..I dead every other or every3 weeks..I stick to heavy power lifts squat bench dead as my foundation and build off that with isolation and more bodybuilding style lifts.. I'd say even if u still wanted to do the3 day split try to take2 days off instead of 1.. honestly if your lifting hard and doing high volume you might be over training man.. it's hard to say everyone is different
Same routine here cause of my physical job
It sucks sometimes bro for sure.. makes it hard to eat the way I want to also.. then depending What I do that day on the job can mess with my workout.. is it just me or do u slack at work sometimes too to make sure your workout doesn't suck lmao I know I do
Haven't been lifting long. I lifted for one year, then took 6 months off for personal reasons, started back up 2 months ago. I'm definitely a rookie. I just can't seem to recover quickly from workouts. It's a little bizarre.
Ok so if it's only been2 months in my opinion it's probably over training or under eating/ under resting..I don't know what your diet is either but really I can say I use protein powders only to supplement my macro intake..I try to get the majority of my protein from whole foods.. Here is a sample of what I ate today
Breakfast 3 hard boiled eggs core power 26g protein shake
Lunch 3 hard boiled eggs 1 can tuna 2 slices bread Greek yogurt milk
Post workout shake 30g protein
Dinner chicken rice carrots milk
Casein before bed
So I do hit up the shakes but I'm eating a high protein diet also... try resting a little more the next few weeks like I said if u wanna do the3 day split do the 2off then repeat.. that alone will help.. and i can't stress enough to eat right bro.. it makes the effort in the gym worth while.. if the diet isn't right it's just not gonna pay off the way you want man..fr me if you got any questions I'll try to help ya out..
Thanks a lot
