+ 6 A Caution: PIP vs Infection
Hello All,
I am new here obviously. 29y.o. 6'1 235 lbs bf 18%. Long history of lifting, college sports, mma, etc. Not gonna give any specifics on my medical background but I have lots of letters after my name leave it at that. I am 3 weeks into first cucle( listed in cycle log) test E 250mg/0.5 cc twice weekly and Tbol 25 mg bid. Here is my caution take it or leave it.
I have had wicked PIP from every pin thus far in glutes and delts. Significant etythema (redness) , pain, edema( swelling) and induration( a firm like quality to the redness which starts 2-3 days after pinning and lasts for a week or more getting worse until it dissipates.
Many of you have probably experienced this but with my background (and this is in no way endorsing anyone's personal choice to use steroids) I have to let everyone know something. If you presented to my office with my symptoms of pip, I would be CONVINCED YOU HAD AN AGGRESSIVE CELLULITIS/INFECTION!! If you think you have an infection and do not reveal you were injecting a substance like AAS when you go to the doctor you will likely receive aggressive antibiotic therapy, a hospital admission, and possibly surgery!!! Even if you did reveal this info I would still think you had an infection from poor pinning or some such. Pathos PIP is strange stuff. I have even had peri vascular Inflammation (redness along your veins) which is usually a giveaway for infection!
Anyway, that's my two cents. Any doctor treats you based on their understanding of the situation and the disease process. If you think you have an infection and don't tell the Doc you are pinning and the don't have first hand experience with PIP you will likely be misdiagnosed!!
All that being said if you see redness tracking along your veins, develop fevers or chills and for a blister like swelling or drainage seek medical care as this can be life threatening!!

Very good and useful info. Thanks for sharing it. As for your own experience with pip. You say that it's happening every Time you pin. Any chance you're also feeling a bit lethargic or "zapped" in the energy dept? I have been pinning AAS for a number of years and have had pip in the past, but more recently (within the last year) I have had some weird things happen along side it. Because of the great members here and the wealth of experience we all share, we determined the cause of both the pip and lethargy. It was one of the solvents used to suspend the highly concentrated blends I was using. As well as TNE. An allergic reaction of sorts. You would know better than me but Benadryl immediately knocked out any swelling and redness from the inject site. Lethargy lasted duration of the ester.
AnonMan thats exactly what i thot! I pinned my delt wit T400 and its swollen no pain little erythema. Ima go get some Benedryl
here is the question i want to know the answer to. IF you tell your doctor you're on steroids, can your insurance company take you off?
Off, no (May be differnt from state to state, but most states, no). They can deny payment for a visit and/or procedure if they think or find out the cause was due to illegal steroid use.
Thanks for that info doc. Stick around. We can all use your knowledge and experience. It will be a valuable asset to this community. +1
Glad to have another medical profession here. Hope you can find your niche here and add to the contributions. Welcome brother!
