+ 9 How strong are you guys? Just curious

ad

This isn't about who is the strongest mofo on eroids as it is just about me being curious. The last few days I've seen a few members commenting on working out with 120-150 pound dumbells on inclines, which in my opinion is good, especially if you're around 200 pounds or lighter. So my question (1) what is your 1 rep max on bench or squat and or (2) how many times can you rep out 225 pounds on the bench press? Or what were your best lifts in your prime years as alot of guys are older now? This isn't a powerlifting forum but more about bodybuilding so I get that, but again I'm just curious.

Steeltoad777's picture

I'm weak as fuck. I only do anything for pussy. I lift to feel good, sure, but really... I know that if I don't feel good, I won't have the confidence to approach women. Not trying to out lift anyone. I stick to machines except for dumbell curls. I do just enough to get to my ideal weight/bf and then Coast/maintain from there. Try not to injure myself out of fear of losing our on quality vag.

My best bench was probably 360 for 1
Squat about 400 for 1.

My fav exercise is farmers carrys. And when I can't walk and carry, just standing there with 75-100lbs dumbell, occasionally shrugging. I like it bc I basically don't do anything except stand there and get jacked lol

Dude if you take 100 random guys say at a grocery store I bet only one could bench 225. So your numbers are good. Better than mine

Steeltoad777's picture

It depends what grocery store. Are we talking whole foods in Manhattan Portland? Or your local meat/produce in Rural America, Farm boys? Lol... I just know that whenever I have been in a strength competition, I don't do well. Endurance I shine. Strength I'm average for my height /weight. If you factor in all the juice, I'm probably below average.

DeeMan's picture

Your best bench and squat numbers aren't average in my opinion. Man the farmers carry in my opinion is the indicator of overall strength. Damn I hate doing those damn things. I mean I feel insignificant afterwards with no energy at all.

Vag til failure. Different kind of PR…but a PR nonetheless

@SeeOhShow What do you think your Vag PR really is. One day recently I sat back and started counting on my fingers of every single one I can remember and I know I got over 110.-120. I’m sure there are a few more that I don’t remember. This has the makings of a great poll, LOL.

DeeMan's picture

@JakeKO @SeeOhShow that poll would be interesting

SeeOhShow's picture

I can’t compete in this game lol. I‘ve always been hyper focused on goals that weren’t vag related….i.e. could count it on one hand

JakeKO's picture

Damn, with the way you look I may have hit 500 by now, LOL

DeeMan's picture

I think you got most of us beat. I know you got me beat. I always loved the women but I never chased...fk that!

SeeOhShow's picture

lol idk man girls seem to be into man buns and soft weak men these days. Gone are the days women pick a man because she feels he’d get her through the apocalypse.

Either way I was either spending all my time dedicated to sports to spend any time chasing tail or my nefarious phase of life where I was grossing ~$20k a week and couldn’t afford any fuck ups otherwise end up in jail for life. So I didn’t do shit but business. Then I got with my wife and gave all that up for her.

I’ve lived a very weird life up to this point lol

Bill1976's picture

My bench is only 245. My squat I work with 315. Not a lot but it’s not a little either. I just fill out good. Can o go higher? Yes but I have a family the needs me to be working and not injured. But I can’t go much above that anyway.

DeeMan's picture

I Appreciate the honesty. Family first. You know I've just started looking at those cybex machines. I think that's the name, maybe another name though. I think I'll go that route eventually. They give good range of motion and isolate the muscle well.

Bill1976's picture

Oh dude. I work out at a competitive powerlifting gym and this guy has a variety of brand of machines that are the best. I use to HATE machines but these ones manipulate parts of your muscles that you can usually only do with dumbbells. Let me know what your goal is and I’ll take a pic of the machine for you. And yup. I’m always honest about my life. I don’t need to bullshit about how much I lift or anything like that. But about the machines. You can put the plates on different parts on some and hit spots where you didn’t know you could hit. The squat machine is the best. It will improve your squat like crazy. They practice on it before competitions

DeeMan's picture

See those type of machines are what I'm talking about. I'm going to be using those a bit more in my routine especially in the future. Damn I can't remember the name of those machines that I liked alot. EDIT: ok those machines are hammer strength. Now make no mistake I'm still hooked on those rusty ass plates and dumbells. I'm trying to get away from them but they keep calling my name lol

JakeKO's picture

I agree with you on some of the machines. We have the Max Strength brand in my gym, and I love how some of the seem to isolate the exercises and keep you stable and in good form. The ones at my gym all have a small picture on them highlighting the muscles being hit by that particular machine. The also use real plates, so it makes me feel better about using those machines. I try my best to alternate from 3-4 free weight sets to 3-4 machine sets. I feel that always gives me the recovery time to work my next free weight sets to my best potential. If I do too many free weight exercises in a row, I tend to burn out quicker, which shortens my workouts. I will only do squats on the machine. I won’t even consider free weight squats anymore. I just know I’ll end up fucking up my back, knees, or both

DeeMan's picture

@JakeKO @Bill1976 Hammer Strength is the name of those machines I Iike.

JakeKO's picture
DeeMan's picture

Yessir! That's it

Bill1976's picture

I use that one. I like it.

JakeKO's picture

Me too! I get some great pumps from this particular machine. Notice how many muscles it hits. I did four sets of 12 reps on this machine this morning. Maxed out at 230lbs to failure at 17 reps on my last set, but think I could have done every set at this weight. Next week I’ll start at 230lbs and see how I feel

Bill1976's picture

That’s a solid brand for sure

JakeKO's picture

Yes, mine are hammer strength too. Not sure where the hell I got Max Strength from. I’ll let you know for sure in six more hours. I should probably try to sleep now, LOL.

DeeMan's picture

when I saw max strength it reminded me of the name. Max sounds like some mafia hit man's name. Ok cool man. Yea sleep time for me also.

JakeKO's picture

LMAO

Bill1976's picture

They have an incline fly machine and it gets that upper inner part of your chest and fills it out really nice

JakeKO's picture

We don’t have that one. Although I’ve used it at the resort I spent my last vacation at. Wish we did. We have a bunch of orher ones though. My favorite is an incline chest/shoulder press machine. I’m not sure of the correct name for it, but it highlights your chest, shoulders, and delts.

Bill1976's picture

There is a gym closing down by my house. I’m going to buy some of their stuff.

JakeKO's picture

I bet even used they would still cost a fortune, I priced them out today, and they were about four grand each. I can’t justify that shit, LOL

BeastMoDe33's picture

Truthfully. Me personally, I dont focus on strength more than I do condition, look and how I feel. I'm weak probably lol

DeeMan's picture

Yeah I figured most focused on looks

ForeverFitBod1's picture

Honestly it's all dependent on the compounds I'm running at the time. Some of them just stimulate the CNS system a bit more than others. I also feel there is a muscle to mind component to this. Proper form, breathing, and mental focus or clarity in order to use all the muscles that you can incorporate into the lift. Some guys just go like an animal and that's how injuries happen, trust me I know lol

DeeMan's picture

Glad you said that, in fact that's probably the most important thing and that's the mind to muscle connection. As you know the mind itself actives the CNS and I agree some compounds active the CNS more so than others so alot of the power training is dependent on whatever particular compound being used, so good point.

Side note...ya know we've all heard of stories of moms lifting up cars that their babies are trapped under. I know adrenaline plays a part no doubt but that mind-muscle connection is definitely a factor. Man check this out....I remember as a teen I dated this 28 year old small woman who probably weighed 105 pounds wet with boots on. Long story short her boyfriend gets off work early and comes to visit her at her home. Well earlier I helped her move some heavy furniture around which was impossible for her to do alone. Well her guy sees that furniture has been moved and asked her who helped her because she couldn't of moved that heavy furniture alone. Well she immediately looked at him and proceeded to lift the heaviest thing in her living room up. No way she'd normally do that...no way. The mind!

Thanks!

I really do enjoy your posts and or topics. Between you and a handful of other guys, I think you're invaluable to this website and community. Keep up the good work brother. Haha yes I bet that chick was pretty good in the sack too hehe

Thanks man and even though I have a hard time accepting this or any compliment I will out of respect.
We all are invaluable man and I think you tend to be one of the more sincere guys so much appreciated

ForeverFitBod1's picture

Thank you for saying that, I appreciate you also.

I've been here since pretty much the beginning, on and off. I've seen and I know it All lol

One critique I could give I guess is that this site could use a little more moderation. I have a super Keen sense of character. It would be a hard decision but I would prefer you both be nominated and that department if the day ever had to come. You and press1. I think you guys are to be trusted, and wouldn't steer any member wrong or do the site dirty. I think you both as well as a few other handful of members are priceless. You guys keep this place clack-a-lacking. A very good thing. Have a good night brother and yes this is a good topic too

Ps. I really am sorry for how I treated you in the past. We all have our moments in life and you gave me forgiveness. Much respect! +1

Lol nahh I'm not worthy @Stokes500 @ForeverFitBod1. Means alot coming from you guys though seriously. Keep kicking ass!

ForeverFitBod1's picture

It makes me sad. Aside from yours, I actually really would like to see what press1 would have to say on this topic. I like his posts equally to yours. You're both great dudes. I'd like to thank you both for keeping this place somewhere I like to visit <3

I appreciate your comment man. I can't be forgiven if I don't forgive, that's how it works. On top of that if a man is sincere then you have no choice. That's what I was taught.

I responded a few comments below to your concern. Just in case you didn't see it. ya gotta scroll down a bit though

Claudezilla's picture

I’ve pretty much stayed away from super heavy after blowing my rotator but I did get 225 for 20 just playing around 275 for 12 and 315 for 6 on the bench last week had absolutely zero intentions on ever putting that much on a bench again but gym bro was giving me grief so went for it

In a promo × 1
DeeMan's picture

With your Godzilla sized body I figured you were at least a 700 pound bench guy lol! Haven't seen ya in awhile Claudezilla. But thanks and those are good numbers. Like I told scooby, some guys in the NFL can barely rep 225 for 20 reps and that's a fact. And I'm not talking about the punters or kickers either.

Claudezilla's picture

Well now my next bench day I’m straight going for it then to see how many I can actually do as soon as I’m warmed up enough I’m actually curious now lol

In a promo × 1
DeeMan's picture

And I dunno if that's a good thing or not because if yall get injured then you guys are all gonna log on and look for me! Wouldn't that be something. Claudezilla WHAT HAVE I DONE LOL!

ForeverFitBod1's picture

Lol

Personally I think it would be a GREAT thing. Now only if you two could get along lol or I mean team up really. Anyhow

Id love to see a for shits and giggles forum poll on this. Of course the Almighty Makwa Daddy would have to be included along with a few others. Not that anybody would have to accept the role or who knows if it would ever be offered. Trust is huge with anything in life. But for some reason I think you two just really do make this place feel like family and or home. Well all three of you I mean.

And nah I just mean like sub moderator powers, of course Greg will always be the leader. But you know, just jump in and direct new members, so the sources don't always have to take the time to do it. Greg does an amazing job of enforcing the rules. Pls don't get me wrong. It's just a random thought, but I bet you guys would all get the most votes.

For example, if a moderator has stepped in and corrected a child like member earlier today. And told that member that he is drama baiting and if he did not order there, he should move along. I wouldn't have had to rash out and put the b**** boy in his place. Not expecting you to comment on that.
But

Little stuff like that. It's definitely a precarious position as you do want to be generally liked by the community, and I hear what you're saying it would suck to be not liked lol when you already well are! Deeman. I think your Theeman! Keep up the good work.

Oh damn looking back I thought you were talking to me still saying you don't know if it's a good thing or not to be a moderator lol oops. My bad

I saw the little situation earlier with Mr. Rock thrower. Nah hey nobody is perfect. Y'all have seen me arguing as well as everyone else. I've seen us all argue but that comes with what we do. Hell with high testosterone levels and some guys on more harsher hormones, there is bound to be arguments. I don't like to argue with anyone but sometimes folks gotta be put in their place unfortunately, not trying to be an ass. I enjoy all you guys but my main thing is just being safe and doing shit right that's all. Those silly arguments will come and go so I can deal with that. But thanks again man.

ForeverFitBod1's picture

No need to thank just keep being YOU

That's a sensible reply, your absolutely right

For the record, I have no personal vendetta against the guy. It's almost like he has one for the source. Anyhow, I've tried the gear, and it's a valuable thing for other members to get quality with pricing. What he is doing by attacking the reputation of the gear without even trying it. It's possibly being a detriment to other members who could benefit from it. I come to the collusion that he is a truly insecure person with a lot of negativity. I eat people like that for breakfast lol anyhow have a good night bro.
Oh
I almost wish somebody else posted this forum topic because I really really would have enjoyed what press1 would have had to say on this. And I'm not trying to play matchmaker.
And as you said earlier and as I know myself, I think being a genuine person is one of the best qualities we can have in life. I think you guys have that, and I naturally gravitate towards that. My crystal ball says you guys are priceless and will be around here for a while. Keep rockin along bros

I know you're concerned which I can understand. I'll just say this, it's basically his issue he has to deal with. I have no issues with anyone posting on this topic, hell the more the better. But again that's on him. Grandpa use to say you can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink. Anyways I just thank all you guys for your input. Later
