3 cc barrels push resistance

ad

I've only used McKesson 3 cc luer lock tip barrels and they are pretty difficult to push the plunger. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a brand or type that's easy to push?

I have the 1mL easy touch that are super smooth and easy. I planned to maybe purchase the 3mL easy touch variety but wanted to see if you guys had some feedback first.

I know exactly what you are referring to.....the Mckessons are a pain in the ass (literally). Don't know if it's a manufacturers error cause it seems like a 5cc rubber plunger is used in a 3cc syringe. It's like the rubber plunger is too big for the circumference of the syringe and it is indeed a hassle to pin with. It's comparable to Injecting pharma grade Test Undec. Nebido with thick castor oil, multiplied by 3. Hate the Mckessons. My true and tried BD (becton&dickinson) luer lock 25g 1inch or 1.5 have yet to disappoint. Gone through countless 100ct boxes....no issues. I have 5 boxes 100ct/box of each 25g 1in and 1.5 in closet stash. Highly recommend BD....nice and sharp, great quality pins.

Awesome to hear you know my struggle lol. So I'm on the fence about getting 3cc or 5cc of either easy touch or (more likely) BD barrels. My cycle will be full 3mL pins eod. Someone mentioned filling a 3cc all the way may be difficult so was contemplating getting the 5's. The problem is measuring gets a bit more inaccurate so leaning 3's and maybe I'll lean my ass into the wall to start the plunger going. --

I've personally never had any issues using BD 3cc syringes for 3ml shots....but to each his own and comes down to preference. With a 3ml full syringe, there is still plenty of space left when it's pulled back all the way. I use 3ml for 3cc shots all the time and have never had an issue, never needed to lean against wall to start the inject, even with pharma grade oil which is very thick and takes much longer and is harder to push through a 25g. I'd say try the 3's and see how it goes and also try the 5s and decide which works best for you, but I don't ever pin more than 3ml so never needed the 5cc pins. Most ill ever pin in one shot is 3cc. Worse case scenario....you can always back load a 5ml syringe with an accurately measured 3cc. Draw your oils with the 3cc syringe and take plunger out of 5ml syringe the transfer the oil inside the 3s into the 5s then inject the 5ml syringe you just filled with the 3cc of oil. A lot of work, but it's an option worse case scenario type. Good luck

  1. Oil is too thick for needle
  2. Hitting scar tissue
  3. Plunger rubber is old and too dry

Point 3 would be the issue if anything. I've only ever purchased these from my doc office so maybe they have old stock or something. Planning to try a few different varieties if no one has any feedback regarding brand and ease of plunging.

I always check while its empty without anything in it first. It will be hard to push empty. One time i only had one syringe so oiled the plunger to loosen it up and i was good. Back in amateur days. Licky i didnt get infection.

Lol. did You use the roid oil or had some astroglide lying around

I think it was wd-40 lol. No it was just cooking oil which is probably just as bad

Thinking about it you could technically draw up a smidge of aas oil in a slinpin and lube the 3cc plunger aseptically. Might be worth a try if all else fails.

When you are having a hard time plunging the oil, how much oil is there in the 3ml Barrel?

It goes in fine I never have an issue getting it in, but glutes and one handed injections aren't as easy bc of how hard I have to push. Have to reposition hand and just wiggles the needle more than I'd like.

Amount of oil?

Sorry so next cycle is a full 3 cc but last cycle I was pushing 1.5-2 cc. I'm not encountering resistance in the muscle, it's the plunger itself. Just much harder to push than 1 cc barrels and wondering if they're all like that or if there are 3 cc barrels that maybe have lubrication or something to make one handed pinning easier.

I asked the amount of oil in the barrel because if you are trying to plunge 3ml in a 3ml barrel you will find it much harder then trying to plunge 3ml in a bigger 5ml barrel. This is because the plunger is further away from the needle end and and the barrels are slimmer than a 5ml barrel which is wider. It has to do with pressure per cm2 etc. However if you are only loading up to 2ml then it probably is the fact the barrel may be not as good. The more you pay the better they glide up and down and the rubber seals are generally better. Always heat it before you pin it too as this makes it way easier.

Good advice so I will try some 5mL barrels this next time around.

I use the Terumo 5ml's most of the time, used many BD's in the past of the same size but the Terumo's glide a bit better and I find them easier to read in the 0.2ml increments.

Great exactly the answers I was looking for. I'll take a look around as that's a brand I haven't come across.

I use 25g 1 inch tips for spots other than delts. Delts 27g half inch but never tried more than 1 cc in the delts. Next cycle is a lot of oil, 3cc eod, might do 1.5cc in each shoulder to keep rotation fresh, or just pin ed and figure out lats as mine are pretty defined and easy to navigate. I planned to warm and haven't tried it yet. Maybe that would be the solution.

The McKesson is what my TRT doc gives so I haven't tried any other 3cc variety. I will say the easy touch 1mL pushes very easily even with small gauge. I will give your recommendation a try, they're cheap so I can figure it out by trial and error.
