Training on cycle
ad
I have heard so many different things from YouTube gym celebrities about training natty vs on cycle that I have no idea who to believe. This will be my first cycle on Test C 250. Do I train differently or the same?
Thanks for all your guys help

Recovery will be improved so you may be able to ramp up intensity. Listen to your body.
As Diesel77 says here. Depends on your goal. Me personally, I dont really change my style of training, I just add more trainings per week, I train a little bit longer, but I always focus on controlling muscles, not on the weight I lift. I go for PRs very rarely. Instead I go for 8-12 reps at least with every weight until I FAIL another rep. Yeah sometimes I want to lift something heavier so im between 4-6reps.
Listen to your body, you dont need to go to the gym 7times a week and train for longer time than you are used to. Just FOCUS on every contraction. Every body is different. What works for me doesnt need to work for you. After a while you will find the best way for yourself.
On cycle you will feel every rep more than ever before and you will love it. But dont forget to rest too.
This is solely goal dependent and it's up to you how you train, for whichever you goal you are aspiring to achieve. Training style vary to a degree when it comes to training specifically for strength/power or purely hypertrophy/muscle gain. The main thing to consider is ...take it slow as your muscles will get stronger and bigger rather quick while on AAS. Ligaments/tendons...not so much. You will feel invincible and strong, but don't push it too much and risk injury.
Leave your ego at the door and work the muscle, don't let it work you. In the start, challenge yourself more by doing more reps with the weights, rather than increasing them quickly. Really handle the weight with strict, controlled movements.....don't let the weights handle you. You will know when it's time to go up some eventually. "Heavy" is relative to the individual who is lifting. Don't be so focused on how much weight it is you are lifting...focus more on HOW you are lifting that specific weight. Good luck and wish you well
Thanks brother! I really appreciate you all walking me through this!
Great advice!! It’s not about what the other guy is lifting. It’s all about what feels comfortable, controlled, and safe. More weight does guarantee better gains immediately, but it can guarantee injury. Your weight will go up as your muscles grow stronger
Absolutely true . We all started somewhere and progressively worked up. Crawled before walking and walked before running. Time, patience and consistency is the key for longevity with this lifestyle.
Thank you I really appreciate everyone helping me out with this in such a honest manner.
My opinion is that if you aren’t training hard, you’re basically exercising, so why bother with any gear at all. If you’re on this site, I’m sure you have great goals, so give it all you got, always! Otherwise, most gyms have some good Pilates and Zumba classes you can join. Some even have smoothie bars!!!
Now get your ass to the gym and train hard! ALWAYS TRAIN HARD!
I can train hard in a gym that's gotta smoothie bar for sure!! Drop a little kale in there and I turn into a monster!
LOVE SMOOTHIES!!
Living4ThePumpTraining Style shouldn’t really change but volume most likely will since you’ll be able to recover better and thus can do more work in the gym.
I would start with your normal routine and if you experience better recovery, less doms start to ramp up volume a bit and see where you go. Assess progress, pump, doms etc to see where you’re volume sweet spot is.
There isn't really a right or wrong answer to this as it all depends on what you are wanting to achieve out of your training. But whether you are lifting natty or on gear you should always be waiting until you are no longer sore to hit that same muscle again. Once you get on gear you will find you become much stronger and because you are working with heavier weights you will generally need more time to recover even though you are on gear. Back when I was natty I benched 5 days per week as the weight I lifted wasn't that hard to recover from, now its never more than twice. Different cycles will also heal you at different rates. I would also take Youtube 'Gym Influencers' advice on steroids with a pinch of salt as most of them haven't got a clue about gear.
Gotta love those gym influencers!
Don't do this, Do this! Get huge biceps in one week! 47 way to grow your biceps!!
Stand with one foot on a medicine ball while doing your drag curls!!
Lol
GunShow22inTrain smart and listen to your body. Adjust accordingly.
RustyhookerGear simply speeds up recovery. If theres nothing to repair....it floats your system. Piss/pooh it out...done. But on cycle your muscles grow faster than ligaments.
So wheres the proper balance? I usually modify my resting period between sets and keep reps above 8. Pyramids to fatigue and get you pumped plus you dont get near max lifts too. Pyramids can drop set too same style. Pump and fatigue
60 seconds between sets is great for volume. Warm up first then i go 6 sets pyramid. Add a few pounds aim for 10-12. If i cant hit 10 at top of pyramid...drop a few. Even simple 6 sets with 60sec between....whew! Hit all angles...finish with cables aim for pump and form.
Good sleep and cns is important. If youre flat beat...take a day off. Good carb load and hit it next day.
What do you mean by pyramids? Reduce reps while increasing volume??
RustyhookerFor me an example of pyramid
Decline press...140 x 20 warmup.....210 x 15...225 x 15...250 x 12....270 x 8 ......270 aim for 8.....250 aim 10....225 aim for 10.....140 burnout. Next section
Ok got it. Is that on certain muscles or does that apply to entire muscle group routine. What I mean is for instance Chest/tricep day, if I'm doing 4 workouts on chest and 4 on triceps would I pyramid on all workouts.
RustyhookerI like pyramids on chest back and legs. Just gets a great pump and fatigue in there. Arms delts i like 6 sets 10-12 full pump and sometimes a burnout at end if im feeling good. Arms delts get hit hard during chest back so i keep them simple.
Makes sense. Thank you!
RustyhookerKeep it fun and the rest is easy
I'm not sure what you mean. Train hard on train hard off. Kill it every time.
