Stopping cycle cold turkey

ad

I am 34 years old and have been cycling on and off for a few years now. I have been using test e 500mg a week for this most recent cycle and my egfr for my kidneys was 46. My creatinine was 1.9 so I have to stop my cycle cold turkey. I believe it is the arimidex that has killed my kidneys as I was probably taking too much. I have been on trt for over 3 years now. My question is has this every happened to anyone and had to quit cold turkey? I can't talk anything for pct because my kidneys can't handle it. What should I expect over these next few weeks to months?

Add: I wanted to add that my hemoglobin and hematocrit are both elevated and the blood donation place will not allow me to give blood. I feel like my thick blood is also contributing to some of my other symptoms and out of value labs. What can I do?

Creatinine elevations are pretty common, creatine and heavy training can cause false elevations. The protocol most docs take is they say no training for 1 week and retest before stopping hormones all together. Not likely you are induced kidney failure with mild cycles but you never know. I would not stop TRT personally, I would retest.

edit: just saw below you are retesting with cystatin c, this is a better way of assessing glomerular filtration rate in muscled individuals and will clear up the confusion.

Thank you for the helpful response. I just finished researching protonix and I have been taking that for past year for indegestion. I believe that is what has caused possibly my kidney problems and the high blood pressure. I did just retest and I did cystatin c and I haven't lifted for over a week now so I will have my cystatin c checked this Monday.

Arimidex didn't do that. You been monitoring your BP while using gear? High BP will mess up your kidney. Are you drinking energy drinks? That can do it as well. Creatinine can too.

I have been monitoring my BP frequently. I just recently started having elevated BP around 140/90 to 160/90 the highest but usually when I am active then I check it. If I rest for about 30 minutes it comes down to around 140s again

Do you do energy drinks?

I have to stop all of it according to my Dr so yes I've been on trt but I've been blasting too. I am actually a RN so I understand kidneys do not regenerate I am just trying to figure out what I should expect in these coming weeks or months or if anyone has been through this before and was able to get back on test later.

I also just got my labs rechecked again as the last time I had my labs drawn I had just drank a pre workout drink and also finished working out. Ate a high protein meal and then had my labs drawn. I wasn't expecting to get labs because I was just getting my blood pressure checked and the nurse wanted to check my kidney function. I don't want to believe the labs I just had so I just had another cmp and also a cystatin c drawn just waiting on results.

I am hoping that my labs I got done on Friday will come back better and I won't have to completely stop. I will probably just have to stop blasting and try to just take enough test where I don't need to take any arimidex since it's nephrotoxic. Also my hemoglobin and hematocrit is high and the labs will not let me donate blood. I think that is also contributing to my problems. I am trying to get a Dr's order for a therapeutic blood donation but it's not easy.

Labs came back completely normal and cystatin c was almost perfect. Bad blood work due to steak intake, pre workout and working out an hour before giving blood. All those things affect the creatine level in the blood. Lesson learned and now will be doing blood work every 3 months now. Blood work is important is what I've learned from all of this.
