VA TRT Treatment
Was being treated by primary physician for Low T for a few years (1ml 200mg a month). This treatment helped for a bout a week, then felt like crap the rest of the time. Doctor closed his practice and is now working at the local VA medical center. I switched to the VA as well and was assigned to a PA instead of the doctor I wanted to see. Anyway, told the PA about my low T treatment and he ordered some tests. The only testosterone test he ran was the following:
Test Name: TESTOSTERONE.FREE
Result: 23.6
Units: pg/mL
Reference Range: 7.2-24.0
I hadn't seen my primary care physician in about a year and my test prescription had run out. I ordered some Clomid and attempted a 20 day restart. My last dose of Clomid was about thirty days prior to the above Free Testosterone test. Looks like the Clomid did it's job, however, I feel no better, feel like my T is still low, and have absolutely no libido. Do get morning wood, but no drive. Hard to get an erection when I try. Really confused, nothing else has changed like medicines and such. I know I need to see an Endo, but the VA is slow to move and probably won't even refer me. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The VA is one of the last places you want treating your TRT. They are still buying in to their old poorly done study, and the pharmacists pretty much control the TRT regimen instead of the docs.
One usually must have near rock-bottom levels before VA will approve treatment.
(Speaking as someone in the inner workings of prescribing this very treatment at the VA.)
and you need at least 1 injection per week. I'm on TRT and do twice/week, but that's probably overkill.
Yeah, that's what I thought. Unfortunately, my new insurance won't pay for TRT, so not sure what to do. I'll try to see my doc one more time, but someone else told me it's really hard to qualify as well, and treatment is very conservative. Thanks.

I wouldnt cut out the docs, totally, but at least see what they will do for you....its always better to be the squeaky wheel gettin the oil...than to run a risk and be a fish...lol
Thats a low TRT dose to begin with...
Try to make contact with your old doc and speak with him. The PA who assesed you may be his assistant. Stay off anything that will contribute to a false positive hormone test. Make another appointment, and make sure you have given adequate time for the clomid to clear.

Pravastatin 20mg

hey brother, i found the VA to be a little tight with the T, even though they're liberal with every other medication. my T levels were in the basement when i finally asked the doc what was going on. i was post cancer and had been getting blood work done pretty regularly that showed the low T, but they never bothered to suggest anything. Finally after a few weeks of badgering the woman, she prescribed some gel. it worked a little, but i decided to venture out on my own and self pay a clinic. it made a huge difference in my libido, erections, i finally wanted to bang my wife again instead of throwing her the half hearted half hard obligatory fuck every once in a while. I had energy, by crankiness disappeared, etc etc. even just a couple months has made a huge difference. i would totally give it a shot if i were you. start low if you want, figure out where your sweet spot is (slow is smooth and all that jazz)
