Elevated RBC / Haematocrit
I'm just had my blood results back (4 months since last ones)
Haematocrit is 0.54 (up from 0.48 last couple of years).
RBC is 6.14 (up from between 5.28 and 5.61 last couple years).
I haven't done anything differently than previous use (500mg Test Cyp and 300mg Mast blend / week) however I've been using generic HGH 5iu day and IGF-Des 100mcg / day since last bloods.
GP wants to see me mid Jan after having FBC done in three weeks. Can't see test showing anything different (other than a further increase in this time). He doesn't know I use AAS, but asks regularly when he sees my build. It's unfortunate that honesty will put my use on record etc
I can't give blood as I'm taking a med that is on the list that excludes you from donating.
Does anyone know if HGH elevates haematocrit? Otherwise if the next test result is high, I need to reassess risk of continuing with future AAS use.

Hey brother. I see post after post on here of high H&H and high RBC and such and the need to give blood and whatever else is the fad nowadays. I find these posts somewhat funny myself when we are taking substances to increase muscle, stamina, excetera and people freak out when their blood work doesnt fall in the normal range. I work in emergency medicine and see these numbers everyday. As of right now your numbers are nothing to get in a fuss about. Yes you keep trending up but your numbers are still not bad. In the clinical setting we would glance over your values as normal. Lots of things can influence you labs. Anything from altitude, age, medicine. The key here is how do you feel. Do you feel the same way you always have or are you feeling any different. All of us are different and only you know your body. The only way to know if the AAS is the culprit is to not take them anymore and get bloods done again. I can not comment on if GH affects these labs. I can only comment that your labs are not that bad at this time.
Giveing blood is no fad. If you stay on trt long enough you will eventually reach high numbers. When that happens the Dr will prescribe blood letting. I know I’ve been there. If your useing gear regularly blood donation should be part of it.
If you're using an NHS gp don't tell them about your aas use. I've heard they're super close minded about steroid users they'll basically attribute any illness you have afterwards to your steroid usage and treat you like a junkie.
Why can't you give blood?
Mick-JI agree with you 100%.
Can't donate blood as I'm prescribed something that is on the list of drugs that excludes you.
you could donate then contact them and tell them its compromised and they'll dump it
You have the right to request something not be put in your medical record. My doctor was fine with keeping my use off the record.
Really? I was under the assumption it was by law they had to record and/or report that or anything to that nature?
They take your medical privacy very seriously. HIPAA and all that. I never heard of a law that says they have to report drug use. If you don’t trust your doctor enough to be open and honest with him or her, I would suggest finding a new one. Steroid use isn’t a game and doctors need to know about it to best assess your health.
Judging from the spelling of hematocrit, I’m guessing this fella is over the pond. I don’t know the laws regarding medical privacy over there, so be sure to check, OP.
UK is different, you tell the doc you like your iced tea warm its in your records, no HIPAA, only data protection act.
Mick-JHi. Thanks for your comments. Yes, I'm in UK. I'm under the impression it's a mistake to disclose it here when it comes to telling your Dr you are using steroids. He will definitely record it so that when I'm treated by anyone else they will be aware of it and treat accordingly. Implications for my health are most important, but plenty of other knock on effects of having it on record put people off having that conversation.
I'm not sure why values are elevated this time, but it is a concern.
Dehydration can effect that so always make sure your hydrated. A lot of guys do blood letting so that’s always on the table.
yep lots of hydration and cardio would help also changing diet a bit..
Ughh blood letting. That should be on the small list of things not allowed to mention.
Ha jk bro I got a weak stomach and have a vivid imagination
