When drinking has gone too far

ad

I know a lot of you here are recovering alcoholics/addicts so I'd like to get your $.02 on this issue.

I started aas before I was ready, I know that. Diet and training has never been on point. Diet really not that bad, definitely eat better than anyone I know. But don't get in the gym as often as I should. Reason being, beer. I've always been a drinker and until recently hasn't really caused any problems. Never been an angry drunk. A few nights ago I drank way too much, hit a parked car, ended up on someones lawn and speeding away. Puked all over the bathroom. And I'm told I sleep walk. Only happens after drinking too much, and knowing that I can get up and do random shit while I'm asleep freaks me out. Not too long ago I punched one of my best friends in the face twice because he wouldn't give me my keys. I've been upset about that since. I came to the conclusion I need to stay away from liquor, just stick to the beers. Whiskey was involved in both of the mentioned scenarios. Until last night. I only drank beer while watching football. Can't tell ya how many, but I don't remember going home (I was walking, just at a neighbor's house). Today my girlfriend tells me she couldn't sleep all night due to fear that I was going to hurt her. Apparently while I was sleeping I got up and started choking her. Knowing she is afraid of me makes me feel absolutely awful. I think this is my time to have to say it's time to cut all alcohol out.

Fuck. I hate to say it. I'm an alcoholic.

you will feel a ton better man if you just stop it all together. I worked a resort job and was out of control drinking sailor jerrys every night and beer. then my kidneys started killing me so i quit it all together and started running and working out. it runs in my family and I dont want to end up like my old man. Shit all my friends give me tons of shit for not drinking with them all the time but #1 I bring home more girls then them combined #2 I wake up on saturdays and sundays and feel like a champ no hangover, hungry and ready for the gym. I have read studys that alcohol actually increases estrogen and fucks with strength. all my friends are going down the alcoholic road and its sad. I wish you luck man it will be a bitch but you can do it. one day at a time.

10 days. Longest I've gone without a drop since I was in jail. I'm bored out of my mind. Hopefully I can learn to go out and have fun without getting hammered

One day at a time!! Know sounds corny but first step is admitting and realizing and you have!! Working out will help man and gonna be hard but gotta put priorities into perspective and your girl and hell your life should be ur main priority and by the sounds of it drinking puts both those in jeopardy as you don't realize what ur doing you might kill someone and find urself in jail and not even remember doing it! You can do this! One day at a time and obviously have a supportive girl behind you so make this happen!!

drinking is not that bad as long as u dont get wasted. i have seen so many people say "im never drinking again" and they go at it for two weeks, next thing they are back to pouring shots. coming from a family of alcoholics, i was taught that everyone is responsible for actions committed drunk or sober and alcohol is not the blame. u need the power of self control and limiting ur self, because i guarantee u, that u ll be around alcohol in the near future . I never get wasted because i just flat out dont like it, so maybe u can find joy in drinking but not getting wasted, like two or three beers a day till u can cut it.

I was a drunk. Plain and simple. I was your classic drinking to cover up depression issues guy. Long story short, aas abuse and misuse in my early 20s shut me down hard. I became sluggish and lathargic and very depressed. Went from 210 and 8% bf to 250+ and who knows how much body fat. It was fucking high though. The worse I felt, the more I drank. The more I drank, the more weight I gained and the worse I felt. Eventually topping out at 297. Most of the time I was an angry drunk. My poor wife went through hell because of me. Finally had my test levels checked at a doctors recommendation and realized I barely had any natural test at all. Started TRT and my life turned around. Have up the beer and honestly never even think about it. That being said, I do feel that I've replaced alcoholism for steroid use. I stay on top of my over all health and have blood work ran regularly. But I do know that I have what would be considered by most as an unhealthy obsession. Big props to you for posting this and recognizing that you do have a problem. We all have problems. Doesn't mean you're weak or less of a man. The real weakness is to not ask for help when you need it and allowing the problem to persist. Good luck brother. Feel free to PM me if you need to chat.

Sounds like you've had ur fun w/ booze... But when the booze starts controlling u (u do shit u don't want to) that's the time to say I'm done. No one can tell ya ur an alchy u have to know it and believe it urself and use it as a tool to keep u motivated in a positive manner. If u want it u can have it! As you already said. The alcohol is holding you back

brother were all a little fucked up! Realizing it is a good thing, then were ready to deal with it. You need to stay away from alchohol completely. All that time u spend crackin beers and poppin bottles can be spent at the gym! keep us involved , post pictures of progress , give you something to work for, some motivation! you got this my man, man up and show yourself how its done!
