+ 10 What triggers my anxiety when going to the gym when kids are off from school

ad

It’s a random Tuesday. You have your entire workout planned while expecting to be finished at a certain time. You’re forecasting certain machines, benches or racks to be unoccupied because you’ve picked up on the tendencies or routines on majority of people who attend the same time you do, if you happen to attend within a similar timeframe everyday. Out of no where, unexpectedly, it happens to be a holiday that slipped your mind. Walking stalks reeking of skunk, galavanting around collectively while occupying several machines. A path to salvation presents itself as you find an area that seems open where you can begin your workout. Typically, humans tend to walk in a similar path or direction; stalks walk in random directions while looking the opposite way so it’s difficult to anticipate what they’ll do next. As you set your weight up, it approaches you and asks….”How many sets do you have left?”

Haha love it.. Reminded me of Goth's write ups back in the day.

simonmagus84's picture

Oh man, I miss Goth. He used to give me a lot of great life advice.

I hope him and grrrl are well. They were some of the best people on here.

I generally work out in the AM before work so I avoid all the hogging of benches and machines. Occasionally I will go in the evening and my favorite thing to do is find a bench next to a group of them throw on 3 plates and do a few reps like it's nothing lololol it's funny how fast they move to a different area.

simonmagus84's picture

I love watching them disperse when that happens.

Ohyo2247's picture

pure gold lmao this needs to be saved for people to read years down the road to remember this plauge of stupid shit we are all living through

simonmagus84's picture

It’s almost as if anything that is logical/moral/ethical has to be demonized because these constructs have been bestowed upon us from the past. The past is full of command and conquer events so things that occur now if they’re beyond the realm of reason is considered to be “progressive” and “open minded” as long as it’s relative to the persons true desires or carnal appetites. There’s no right or wrong, only relativism to act upon one’s true nature. It shows how group think really plays upon the masses.

I just realised some of what you said there - Do these guys stink of weed in the gym? No doubt they do it because 'Arnold did it' .....

If it was me I would put in a complaint at the front desk and tell them you don't want to be able to smell that shit whilst training.

In a promo × 1
JakeKO's picture

It’s legal in my state so they wouldn’t even care. I smoke weed but would hate to smell it at the gym. It’s kinda dangerous to smoke and lift, but everyone would remind me that Arnold did it SMH

simonmagus84's picture

Indeed sir, and don’t get me wrong, my wife and I use it for medicinal purposes such as insomnia, anxiety or just to relax like a glass of wine but these kids really stink like BO, ass and grass. I’m going to try and make it today but my wife had her tooth pulled and lo and behold my 3 y/o is sick yet again. One of those weeks press. If I do go, last thing I want is a stinky stalk approaching me asking how long until I’m finished or “is that your max bro?”

simonmagus84's picture

Lmao, I appreciate it. I just invoke my inner content creators on this forum so I know what the Eroids membership would appreciate.

We’ve been hitting the gym at 5am for the past month and a half, so I haven’t seen any Broccoli floating around the gym. Although, I get my fill at my sons wrestling matches. They irk the shit out of me. The hair is bad enough, but to see so many of them hanging together all goofy and fuckin’ around is so annoying. Never talking to girls, and so fuckin loud. Where the fuck are their Dads???? SMH

Makwa's picture

Most of them get out of my way Lol

Badgoat1's picture

I don't mind the kids or new guys at the gym as long as they're a little respectful and know etiquette. Unfortunately these kids now seem to not take it seriously and just get in the way and act like they own the gym. We got a guy at mine who will load up a bench bar or grab like a 100lb barbell for curls. Drop it at his feet and occasionally grab it then let go. I guess hoping no one notices he never actually did a rep before he re racks it.

JEX30Sex's picture

LMAO! Yes this right here. I got two guys at my gym that do that. They're never there on the same day together but I watch them like a creeper and every now and then we make eye contact and I squint my eyes and look into their soul and they know that they've been caught. I can see the shame as they slouch their shoulders and look away.

press1's picture

Do people seriously do this to give the impression thats what they are lifting?? lol

JEX30Sex's picture

Oh fuck yeah. I got to the gym and hit up a free bench next an occupied one. I watched and stared as often as I could as two lads next my bench chatted it up for 30 mins bro, I clocked it. I did almost my whole chest set while they just dicked off. Then home boy gets under the bar all shifty and rock 'n roll like "here I am" and ready, just to stand back up and rack the weights (he had 3 plates each side) without lifting a damn thing. I laughed out loud. Like watching a live action dumb ass tik tok. I have mixed feelings of supreme annoyance while being flabbergasted. It's wild.

bundlz's picture

the worst part is that they don't realize that you train at high intensity. low weight to muscle failure they're staring at you like that's all you can do..then you give the machine or cable stretch and they put up double the weight and stand there like half an arnold breaking their back.

press1's picture

HAHAHAHAA LMFAO It's been a fun one has it Simon!!! I bet they all gather in bunches whilst trying to simultaneously discuss the sarms they are on, setting up the tripod and posting on facebook. You need to get in there before them all and loosen a few nuts and bolts on some racks and benches, then watch from afar as those safety racks mysteriously fail on them haha Diablo

Hey press you like lifting heavy. What do you think of the tren twins on youtube

Owes a Review × 1 In a promo × 1
press1's picture

Freaks of bloody nature mate, strong as hell even before they got on gear. I assumed they were just blasting tren all the time from their name but I think its only in the last 6 months or so they started running gear. They have some serious genetics on them too, look like stocky slabs of muscle don't they. I wish I was that strong at 21 and they are hitting the big time too online.

Lololol diabolical mate love it

Owes a Review × 1
simonmagus84's picture

Press, you and @HanginLow nailed it. They make anything fail and another thing that makes me want to throw a plate at them is when they wear their pajamas with sandals but walked in with a flannel jacket at the same time wearing a Guinea Tee underneath.

press1's picture

Are you going to be popping in to see them today mate? Lol

HanginLow's picture

Lololol the flannel jackets and wanting to be the next cbum in 2 cycles of tren (bodyweight 150lbs)

Can we appreciate Simons vocabulary here also

Owes a Review × 1
simonmagus84's picture

Hahahahaha grammar or vocabulary isn’t my forte so I’m not sure if it’s sarcasm coming from a scholar such as yourself but either way, you and press inspired me to write this.

HanginLow's picture

No sarcasm intended, you painted a depressing yet unfortunately familiar picture

Low was the original creator of 'Broccoli Haircut' on eroids - he should of copyrighted it lol

Lol I can't say I originated the term, but I might of brought it to eroids

Bonus for dangling earrings lolol

simonmagus84's picture

You absolutely did and it’s been permeating through word of mouth and through the conscious field.

simonmagus84's picture

But you added more of a background story to help me understand the primordial origins of what was to come. There should be a Netflix series on this topic.

press1's picture

LOL Watched the new Pamela Anderson documentary on Netflix last night, wow that brought back some memories. My wall was literally covered in pictures of that woman as a teen, she was a fitty for sure if a bit nutty lol

It's Bradley Martyn who they all aspire to be, the original fitness influencer. I watched his recent video for another of his Zoo Culture gyms opening and there were literally 100's of these M'Fers there for the opening. Must admit I am guilty of watching his vids in the early days when he was the main guy doing it, the guy is stinking rich now all from posting lifting vids on youtube.
