What the hell happened to you??

ad

Alright I am 32 years old. Very much young and chipper. Looking and feeling my best has and always will be a priority. Every now and then I get on Facebook and see people I knew from high school or even college and think what the fuck happened to y’all. Your all fat and sloppy looking like you lost a fight with the worlds largest bumblebee! It’s even worse when I occasionally see someone in person. Their always like “OMG you look incredible. You must spend all your time in the gym.” I sit there and think, no I just give a fuck and maybe you should to. Does this ever happen to anyone else or is it just me facing this phenomenon?

Simple answer: You are what you eat. I never eat fast food - never have eaten McDos, Burger King, blah blah. If I eat pizza - it's all home-made, including the dough, and haven't had a pizza for 3 years. My diet is fruit, veges, fish, chicken, eggs, whey and occassionally steak (as a treat). High fat and high sugar diets will have you looking like shit in no time flat. My indulgence for myself is wine. A good bottle of wine can make any meal seem like its special - no matter how often a week you eat it.

I have never found it difficult to control my food - most of the time my wife eats more than me. Food has never, and will never be important to me - that's why I never got beyound 210lb body weight - just didn't and couldn't eat the food required to get bigger.

If you want to kick anything out of your diet - make it sugar. It is a simple carbohydrate with almost zero nutrient value other than immediate energy, and that if not used, your body will store it in fat cells for possible future energy needs making those cells larger - and making you larger....especially if you don't burn that energy through high calorific exercise.

People think that it's the fat in their diets that makes them obese - it contributes - but sugar is the major culprit.

Yes it does relax which is a good thing, but the jury is still out on the heart health aspect. I don't really care - I was almost a casket case a year or two ago, and I have been a wine drinker for 40 years - so now I just enjoy what I can, while I can.

ever drink that Woodward reserve?

tyler0628's picture

Usually one of my go-to brands. Smile either that or laws 4 grain bourbon

GreatSpear's picture

Yo bill, shoot me a FR if you ever want to talk about woodford reserve. I used to represent the brand. If you go to the distillery they have a fucking amazing double double oaked version (we like to call it quadruple oaked).

Bagman's picture

I will be goin there in bout month only couple hours away!

GreatSpear's picture

You’re going to love it, it’s a great tour!

Bill1976's picture

It’s good stuff. I keep a bottle of that and a bottle of home made from a buddy of mine. Once in a while he will give me a fresh bottle of clear whisky too.

We were just talking about this. Jlo, toni braxton, and a couple others who age so well. I think the gym will keep your body in shape but a lot has to do with genetics. And most important lifestyle. Drugs, alcohol, and just not caring will take its toll. A great bod with a old wrinkly face still looks old. But yes, its crazy looking at people in the past that look like they are a couple steps away from the grave.

Ozninjaguy's picture

It's not only women who have that attitude of getting older is an excuse for letting yourself go. Fact is, it's endemic to both genders ( and the now plethora of genders in between). Look around at all the Walruss-guts on guys who think that strutting around with a metre of gut hanging out the front in manly. Those people never had anything to let go of in the first place. They were just lucky that for a small window of time they looked good.

If someone compliments me, I compliment them back - no skin off my nose and we both know the facts, so I play the social game.

These same people that stuff their face with donuts and soda are the same ones that talk down on steroids like their lifestyle is so much more healthy.

kodiakGRRL's picture

are you saying that donuts and soda are bad?

Bill1976's picture

They are if you eat more of that than healthy foods. I eat my share of donuts but not to the point where I’ll have diabetes and heart problems. I have an 18 years old half brother that is very very obese but my stepmom thinks my steroid use is bad while he smokes pot all day and eats junk. I don’t mind pot smoke either as I’m a dead head and have smoked my share of pot and taken my share of lsd but he smiles all day... too much. I get your sense of humor though I got one too. I like my donuts but I haven’t drank a soda in ten years.

kodiakGRRL's picture

lol...no way you're a dead head ?? ;-) i rarely eat or drink of them .. i usually feel like garbage after wards and the eating and drinking don't supply me enough pleasure to make the feeling like garbage worth it.

AayKay's picture

For sure all the time. I'm 49 and in better shape than all of my colleagues and their 20 something kids. Especially since I moved to north. I don't know what these people are eating but I have seen the most obese people I've ever seen up here.

Sssooooooo......you’re looking for a date huh?..... how do you feel about older, slightly off center, fairly good shape, independently wealthy ( over 500$ in the bank at all times), and never has stinky feet! ( always a quality trait).... asking for a friend......

Kgp's picture

I have a buddy whos fat, bald, and ugly. He gets ass like a toilet seat. I asked him before, "your old, fat, ugly and stink, how do you bag all these chicks?" His reply was, "if you shoot enough arrows, your bound to hit something. Good luck bro, I mean, good luck to your friend.

kodiakGRRL's picture

some people have an intangible something that over rides looks. someone can look fantastic and as soon as their lips move their looks go down the toilet.... I have told people to just stop talking ... they never do lol

kodiakGRRL's picture

does your friend have teeth and hair?

Drock_357's picture

All teeth are present,....and straight!.... hair left along time ago tho.....but he does have a GREAT personality!...
One drawback tho, he is still known to do the robot on the dance floor and occasionally a little breakdancing...he just can’t let go of the 80s...

kodiakGRRL's picture

I can close my eyes when he does that 80's stuff lol

OlympicLats's picture

But you surely have an advantage being in this lifestyle, hell you're never going to age on the outside, i bet every day you look better

kodiakGRRL's picture

lol one second of resting bitch face.... combined with my delts, traps, and arms ... they usually manually shut their own mouths and move out of my way ;-)

kodiakGRRL's picture

I pretend I am 25 .... most of the time it's ok but then there are some days when I yell at myself that I am NOT 25 anymore

kodiakGRRL's picture

lol... maybe I ll just think 20 ... for good measure

Pale's picture

I guess we all know that to be truth but myself I spend more time appreciating the others I grew up with that still look good (like me). They are rare but there are a few. I also make an effort to encourage others to use the only fountain of youth we have (the gym). That said I also temper any urge to boast with the fact I use gear that could potentially shorten my life as well, so am I really better? I have made peace with what I do and the risk, if they are happy in their own skin good for them. My wife and get lots of compliments so we hopefully are inspiring a few others along the way.

Wait til you get to be KMC's age. This is him talking to his high school classmates at his last reunion (I was his plus 1)

I was thinking, "Damn, KMC looks pretty good; relatively."

tyler0628's picture

I feel this very deeply.
