What food to buy
Ok we'll before today my budget wasn't as tight as it is now. I have twin girls and pay child support and still buy half there stuff ontop of that. We'll works been slow and they let two ppl go. These two ppl were here longer than me by far but I put in the work. I've been hit by losing 2 days a week which hurts me due my hourly wage matters since I pay child support losing a day kills my budget since I work 10-12 hour days. So what types of food would you buy on a food budget of 250 a month down from 400-450. The things I eat are tuna, chicken, pork, fish. I was thinking boneless chicken and pork and chicken gizzards for my meats and stick to my protein shakes to. Then I still will eat my fruit and broc for veg. Just need to keep eating good but cheaper lol. So any thoughts let me know

its not what your buying or how much your have to spend...
its -where- your spending your money. Im single and im cheap. ( wicked cheap.)
I hunted for where to buy meat here..Im not paying Costco, Im not going to pay Sam's club,
Marsh or Meijer's or what ever.. You need to find where your locals are getting there meat.
Get online and find the WholeSale meat suppliers in your area.
I shop at 2 places - Aldi's. ( wicked cheap prices.) and a whole sale meat
place here in town. I bought last week. ( for $125.00)
1- 40 lb box of chicken thighs. ( bone less - skinless.)
1- 70 lb box of Pork Shoulders
thats 110 lb of meat in my fridge.. and yes. I eat all of it. You need a Freezer for the garage and
1-gallon zip lok bags. ( 2 - should do it.). bring the meat home.. and start to package it up.
I also have a deli meat grinder.. all of my Chicken goes thru the grinder - semi frozen- and i
turn that into Chicken Burgers..( off the hook !!!).. tastes like beef or better.I also bought a
french fry cutter.. I bake the fry's in the oven - home style and use taco seasoning on them..
low fat burgers... awesome !!!!
See im thinking about buying all my product through my work. i cook for a living and can get all my foods cheap and slice them grind them myself off the clock at work for free and I get pricing they get. Also I love cutting my own frys and using sea salt on them and baking them great fucking things many for a good afternoon snack.
Ya I try to stick with chicken, pork ,rice, tuna for my main meals. Protein shakes I use oats, two raw eggs peanut butter 2 scoops. Them for snacks fruit and peanut butter sandwiches or tuna salad. All I drink is flavored water or Gatorade or pure water and a lot of cranberry to
waltri dunno if your eating carbs or not but my situation is similar, i've been eating a shit load of black beans and brown rice, 1 cup of each comes out to like 910 calories, 49 grams of protein, 173 grams of carbohydrates, and 2 grams of fat.
Ya rice is always cheap. Sometimes for rice when I don't buy brown rice I get checked or broc rice which is only .99 a bag and is a decent amount for that. So guess ill have to go back to basics on food and not buy the highest grade anymore lol
brown rice, oats, sweet potato chicken, whatever fish is on sale, eggs....all of those are pretty affordable
Ya I was leaning towards chicken and pork. Cause chicken gizzards are 2 bucks per pack and the chicken your talking a out works to since its boneless and skinless.
Walmart has a 4lb bag of tilapia all the time for $10.98. Get about 16 filets each having a nice 20g of protein. Good break from chicken on some days.
waltri'm gonna have to look into this ;D
buy chicken breast from costco , a 10lbs bag is $20
Anon10 lb bag from Sams Club is 12
