well i got the surgery and it is about 4 weeks into recovery and PT. Things seem to be healing really well and the progress of me moving the arm/bicep is doing pretty good. Doc slowed down the PT sessions due to me progressing to quickly. said my arm needs to heal on the inside first before we make quick progress on me using my bicep again. so he told me that about 8 weeks we are going to get really agressive with the PT to get back on track. What are the thoughts about this.

Great to hear. Keep your mind right and keep pushing. You'll be back to normal in no time.

The MRI came back and showed the docs that it was over 50% torn and told me that i needed surgery. i will be out of commission for about 3 months per the doctor.

Really research the Dr. Mine is a sport surgeon and it still looks jacked, rolled up words to my shoulder. Only way to fix is surgery again.

This guy is suppose to be one of the best docs. He works at Andrews sports medicine in AL, one of the top clinics in the world. It hasn’t completely torn off yet but I have surgery this Thursday to fix it so that doesn’t happen.

I tore mine off the forearm... Had surgery within a few days. Pic the right surgeon though. I didn't pick mine and now I have a fully functionable bicep that looks like shit. No worries on strength just a little self conscious of its appearance.

I think you guys are right and just have the surgery. It will be worth it in the long run and it will eventually get back to normal and size.

I tore my supinator and a small part of the bicep last year. Unfortunately surgery and no work was not an option. It doesn’t hurt anymore, 5 months later and my strength is coming back slowly. The bicep fully contracted looks totally disproportionate to my other now though. What was awesome symmetry and solid size is now a nice full bicep and a retracted peak on the damaged side.

If surgery is doable I’d recommend it.
