OK as of late there has been a mountain of rubbish talk going on in threads that just detracts from the whole idea or purpose of that thread. It's unfortunate that this has happend so I have decided to open this thread. If you don't like what someone has said redirect them here and have it out in this thread, and that will keep the original thread moving in the direction intended. The idea I think is in the original interest of ER in that we are all here to assist others and keep the negative crap out of the way. So here it is.

I've only asked my husband to skip once. Both of my kids ages 1 and 5 had the flu and strep. The five year olds temp was 103.6, and they still hadn't gotten in to see the doctor, I had been home with them all morning, but had a presentation I had give that afternoon. When he got out of class I asked him to come home and skip the gym so we could try to get them to the doctor, and I could prepare for my presentation. Justified, right? I would only even think to ask in an emergency. This pretty much was. Other than that I want him to go! We will sometimes even take turns on the weekends staying with the kids so we both get our work outs in. Maybe it's different when you're with a girl who takes it as seriously as you do.
Beach, you are totally justified in that. and if i had kids, and that was happening you bet your ass i woulda been there. it takes a piece of shit not to be there for there kids, i would know.... and yes i think it would be easier to deal with if i found somone who loved it like i do. which is actually my goal, find a girl who competes and understands the lifestyle, and hard work this all takes. One missed gym session, one missed meal can set you back MILES.... you and your husband seem to have the perfect relationship, i envy that...
We try. It's all about balance. Our kids come first, of course, and then we try to be highly supportive of each others goals. I don't think I could even talk him out of going to the gym with the offer of sex, but I also wouldn't even try. If you just met someone and you are already trying to destract them from what you know is important to them you're pretty immature and selfish (speaking of the chick).
