Stomach bug

ad

I just got my ass kicked down the street and back again with a stomach bug . I'm starting to feel better. Holding food down but my appetite is shit the sight of anything healthy makes me want to vomit all over again. I'm still weak. Not much energy and sweating like I'm in a sauna.

Any tips on recovery other than staying hydrated. I'm finally starting to take in liquids. Been drinking coconut water to replenish my system. My appetite though. I'm just eating whatever I feel like eating that doesn't make me want to puke. Yesterday was the first day I could stomach a protien shake so right now that is my main source of protien. And milk. Milk is great to me right now...

Dying to get back to the gym.

im a mother so i can give some mothering advice, i also work for the health dept...first i cant imagine how you are drinking milk...that is always a big no no ...tea and toast should be yr first choice then add in some rice and bananas.....you want foods that are binding and not heavy on yr digestive system...the coconut water is perfect....basically the virus has to move through yr system...the diarrhea, nausea, vomiting is the way yr body is trying to purge the virus from yr system so its never good to take pepto bismol or any of those things that suppress the instinctual response of yr immune system.
feel better Smile

Sounds like you're on a pretty good path right not. I'm a big fan of coconut water and it's perfect for your recovery right now. Pank is right when it comes to sugary drinks as well. If you can stomach a protein shake, that is the one thing that always gets me feeling better when I'm getting over a stomach issue. Other than than, just have patience. Best of luck.

The flu like that wreaks havoc on the electrolytes and sodium levels. Drink power aid and don't worry about the extra sugar right now. You will recover your energy, stamina and balance much quicker than just drinking water.

Thanks. I had been avoiding that because of the sugar but I'll pick some up on the way home today.

I tried to eat my normal lunch. Wanted to puke just looking at it lol

Yeah it def. Sucks. I just have to hope in another day or two I'll be back to normal. I guess as one as I'm eating for now that's all that matters. This can be chest week I guess

Same here. Only problem I had was my wife got hit with it shortly after. Neither of us could go to the store and we were trying to take care of our 3 year old hoping she doesn't come down with it. I strained so many muscles in my chest from vomiting so hard. I hate dry heaves. Not been a fun few days.
