+ 8 Spoiled the Mrs for V day. - Got her a crotch rocket
So I had gotten the wifey a gift certificate to Harley for xmas so she could take her riders course. She knocked that out last month and got her endorsement on her license a couple weeks ago. We go shop used starter bikes and after a few, she found one she loved. To make sure, I tried to convince her to get the cafe racer instead of the gixxer. She was adamant about getting the gixxer so I decided I'll buy it. Played like we didn't have the funds and told the kid you have my highest offer. Knowing he'd finally come down he texted me two days later and said he can come down to my asking price. Had him drive it over to my house on V day while the wife was at work. When she came home, she opened the garage to a new bike....well new for her. She freaked out. She cried, I smiled, I got head on the staircase right after. Win win.

That’s a hell of a valentines gift. Surely you guys will have a fucking blast. I’m more of a 250/450 dirtbike and Race Car kind of guy. I used to love going out in my street car and running with packs of bikes. I still have a ton of footage of races and wheelies, all kinds of shenanigans. 450rwhp in a 1800lb chassis can run down the 800cc crotch rockets. 1000cc+ r1s, gsxr, and busas would pull me while lifting front wheel unless I upped the boost. So much fun. Definitely saw an out of towner explode after hitting a bridge enbuttment at 160 on a street bike. I’ll never forget the scenes of that and the pictures from my cousin who was a responding emt. That was fucking crazy. I know countless others gone from bikes. It’s a lifestyle and a calculated risk. God I want one so bad but I know what the outcome would be for me. I like being reckless. Nonetheless, you only live once. Definitely getting another Yz in the future and my car back on the road. Congrats to you and the misses though.

Know all about the car thing too. American muscle, boosted japs, and now German power these days. First car was an Olds 442. I was boosting Honda's in the mid 90s. Supras and Zs after that.
Yeah man. Cherish all those memories, great experiences. I’d take any Rm, any day of the week. I remember those days when everyone was figuring everything out of their own. No internet yet, of it was forums just like this. Then you go out on the weekend to meet the crew, talk shit, and find some action.
My man. Yea. That's exactly how it would go down. Use to hit MSR for track days when I had the 350Z back in the day. Twin turbo, fully built on spray. Drive out with Z club ...Do 5-6, 20 min sessions and drive home. Streets got boring so I went hard at the track in my early 20s. Road racing cars and bikes.

Very nice! The wifey has never been a fan of me having a bike let alone consider getting one for herself. Like you I love adrenaline. Have had r6, cbr600rr, naked fz6r, even had a vstar650 that I turned into a bobber but it wasn’t me. Luckily I’ve only wrecked once on the windys. Low sided at about 60mph slide a good amount of feet and had to pull the bike from the guardrail. All I remember is looking up putting my hands in front of me and moving my feet. Then I immediately ran to my bike to make sure she was ok lmao. Minor damage bent some shit back into place and rode home. That day I felt fine but the following week I couldn’t walk. I was bruised from shoulder down on my left side and the center line of my body hurt so fuckin bad. The wifey was like I want you to sell that thing. So I did only too buy a new one lmao! Not gonna lie I like to ride at 100mph+. on the streets I’m chill but once I’m on the freeway it’s all go. I’ll lane split and weave through traffic like it’s a damn video game. Sometimes I even pick a random spot see what gps says and see by how much I can beat the time. Yes it’s reckless and even selfish since I have a family but it’s also like a drug. It makes me feel so fuckin alive. Anyways haven’t had a bike for about a year and a half. Currently looking to get fz07 or 09. If ima finance I’ll go for the r9.

Nice. Even having the RR I still miss the Gixxer 750. Good news is they haven't changed much at all. Headlight a little bit. Motor is the same. I'll build a track bike next and it'll be the gixxer 750. Low miles something in the 2011-2015 range. Safety wire, shark skins on her, GPS timer and some slicks. Done.

The best finds are floor models that are a couple years old. They sell for so damn cheap! You can also find 2016-2019 models for under 8k and usually u see 15k miles

Yea I ride like a nut. Wheelies. Lane splitting. High speed. Drag a knee. Place and time for it all so in regular traffic I'm good, especially on major road where they like writing tickets. We go out to the sticks to do anything super crazy.

It’s crazy how many people buy these machines and quickly realize it’s not for them. Very few people will even continue to ride after a close call or minor crash. Then on the complete other side you have the risk takers and adrenaline junkies. I know a couple people who fall into this category. The best thing about them is they don’t think you’re bat shit crazy bc they understand.
