Sleeping Problems And How You Have Sucssesfully Alievated Them
I put this under training because sleep is more important that diet or training. It is what allows you to recover the damage done. Common sense says if you water a plant it will grow ... But if you don't give it sunlight it will just stay the same size. Photosynthesis is when the plant sleeps in dark and receives light or is awake.
I am a pretty damn knowledgeable person when it comes to growing plants, Because before I was lifting I was heavily involved in farming. Farming is no different then training a body. You give nutrients water and time/light.
So here is what I am proposing .... People come together and talk about problems related to sleep. I noticed that a lot of bigger people have sleep apnea due to pressure on chest from fat or muscles. Tren causes a lot of problems and so on.
I am interested to know what you have done to alleviate the side effects in order to achieve an acceptable nights sleep. My only reason for giving a damn is to get the best bang for buck out of my training. I know if I slept 6-8 hours as perfect as possible I would wake up and be ready to eat leadsoup vs. Moaning from the dizzy aches etc that I am experiencing that morning.
Info: 248 6'0 Have sleep apnea machine set to 10 (Just got it 2 weeks ago still adjusting cfm)
I wake up with numb hands and feet. I wake up 5-10 times hardcore for nothing. I ache deeply during mornings and I am weak fora about 20 minutes.
My morning schedule is wake up shit piss eat computer and then work. My job allows me to not have to come in at a certain time so If I am really slow that day I can get away with it. I have trouble waking up early no matter how hard I try.
I take melotonin 10mg ambien 10mg and during the days that I am resting from training a xanax 2mg for muscle relaxation. I use a sleep number 80 setting. Stretch a lot too with foam rollers.
Please post your experiences

Personally I would drop the benzo's and ambian and smoke a bowl. Since I smoke I was able to get off a bunch of meds to include benzos that can be addicting.
I'm starting to have tren sides. All I really get is the sweating and difficulty sleeping. B4 I even started tren I had difficulty sleeping if I felt hot. There's a lot of literature out there about how a cool enviroment helps one get to sleep faster with better quality sleep. This makes me wonder how much of trensomnia is caused by the increase in metabolism and body heat. I'm sleeping in front of a fan and a/c and I'm sleeping great. Being on enough antipsycotics to tranquilize a rhino doesn't hurt either. I was having some sleep apnea but I got better pillows that cradle my neck better and hold up my head higher and the problem has gone away.
For the longest time I was such a bum when it came to sleep. Went to bed way to late then always slept late and felt like shit in the morning. Finally got that back on track whee I go to bed by 12 and I'm up by 8 and I def feel much better every morning. But then my problem was I had trouble falling asleep. I would lay in bed for like an hour atleast just thinking. 3-6mgs of melatonin about an hour before bed solved that for me. Been doing great ever since. More recently tho I've been only sleeping for 5 hours a night but there's a certain thing that I know is causing that lol. But your situation sounds a little more serious then mine was and it sounds like you have all the big guns when it comes to sleeping pills. But if your the kinda guy who goes to bed late like 3 am go to bed earlier sleeping from 3-11 is different then sleeping from 11 or 12 til 7 or 8. Ya both you get 8 hours but for some reason I feel way better when I go to bed earlier and get the same 8 hours. I went to bed at 3-4 and slept till noon for like 5 years straight so you'd think my body would hand gotten used to it but I always felt like shit despite getting 8-9 hours.
Agreed. Its the depressing fact that you are not arnold and you cant fuck workout party from 8am tell 2am sleep 6 hours and repeat. But what I am really saying is that when you wake up later its like I gotta cut all my shit I can do in half. That means I have to seriously rush sex with the woman.
Regarding that 5 hours things... If anyone spent 5 minutes in my head for tren cycles sleeping.... They would probably walk into the nearest military vet organization and go full PTSD.
I go full Rambo , some days I am ready to just walk into the recruitment center and its not like there going to give me gear when I am at war but... Its not like there going to send people like us into a desk job looking and functioning the way we do.
I figure if i am living it everyday I might as well be doing it for a living. Yet I worry about trt and my sleep issues. SO its a dead end.
AnonI'll share a bit of my knowledge experience regarding sleep apnea. So, the first thing I usually find is that both doctors and the general public alike are under the impression you have to be a very large or obese person to have sleep apnea. That is simply false. I am 5'10 and currently weigh about 205, and have been dealing with sleep apnea off and on for the last 5 years and 30 or so pounds. It is true that mass has a dramatic affect on ones ability to breathe freely during sleep, but it's more about proportional mass than anything. I don't have a very large frame. So at 205 and pretty lean, I am dense and it is easy to imagine my throat is smaller than someone who weighed this much in HS, back when I wrestled at 103 pounds! Lol
So, what is sleep apnea and why should you be concerned? Sleep apnea occurs when the airway is obstructed during sleep. While there are technical descriptions of what is happening that causes this, suffice it to say that their is obstruction. What I want to discuss is what happens, and why this is problematic for our health. When you stop sleeping during the night (not everyone even knows this is happening because they don't have a partner there to tell them) you typically awaken to a jolt of a feeling, often times accompanied by a dream that may of may not feel like the culprit for awakening so abruptly. But there is a reason this happens, and it is not a good story.
When you have problems breathing during sleep, the natural effect is a lack of oxygen being delivered to the body. The bodies response is for the heart to beat faster and harder to deliver more oxygen to the tissues it needs to support. This should make sense. Lack of oxygen in the blood from the lungs, the heart speeds up to compensate with delivery to bodily systems. And, as you might guess, it goes to vital organs first. The brain cannot go without. Then the heart, liver, kidneys, etc.
You may be asking why that matters? Well, cell death happens as the result of oxygen, and that means the repairs to that new tissue your body is trying to construct following your bad ass workout this afternoon are first in the chopping block. I am not saying it is instantly sacrifices, but considering the catabolic nature of cortisol and other hormones present, it is not a desirable state to be in for recovery.
The real issue hear is the heart. It's the most precious, and simultaneously overlooked muscle any of us has. The effects on the heart of this overworking whe there is a lack of I oxygen are not good. Heart failure, rhythm problems, valve malfunctions, high blood pressure....many things can result, none of which are good. If you are having trouble sleeping, whether you sleep alone or not, it may be wise to get a sleep study done if you can afford to. Insurance will help cover it in many cases. Talk to your primary doc and they will refer you to a clinic or a pulmonologist who can advise you.
So, on to the only relevant piece of info I have that is not commonly suggested or thought of until this problem is discovered. If your airway is obstructed and your heart is working OT, excess water In the body is your energy. A closely related issue, high levels of estrogen are not your friend either. I find I sleep significantly better between a 10-20 e2 than anything else. Over 40 and I am up and down all night. Now, that is my experience, but by no means a rule. We all respond differently, but as noted, this is something I have discovered about myself over time.
So, if being water logged makes sleep worse what are some simple tips? Lower SALT intake. I add zero salt to anything. I get more than the daily recommended amount just from the average clean diet, which includes a fair amount of organic fruits and vegetables.
If you are having some lower back pain, or anything else that has you reaching for an anti-inflammatory, think twice. Your back may get relied, but NSAIDs are notable for causing water retention. Again, pay attention to those things and it may help alleviate a cause instead of a symptom.
Of course, all of the other suggestions commonly made are helpful....melatonin, sleep on your side (not your back), getting a CPAP if you are diagnosed. My goal here was to encourage some of you who don't think anything of these symptoms to be aware it
Is no joke. And to offer some simple suggestions that seem to help me. Hope someone see' this and finds it helps them out!
First off 103 is laughable at that age because its a measly 103. Then when you get your ass handed to you by people in 160+ range and injured ... You wish you where 103 because sometimes you feel that way after a bad match.
I need to re edit my post because you brought up the doctor vs patient assuming sleep apena is related to obstruction. I was diagnosed with HYPERSOMNIA. (Probably important to note) I went to my sleep doctor after my sleep study and he explained I didn't have sleep apnea.....
I am going to dig deeper into research .. just wanted to add that hypersomnia is what I have. It is basically sleeping to much. Sounds like some medical bullshit excuse to me but I have high quality health insurance. I am going to a eye doctor for my TRT related condition which puts pressure on my pituatary gland and my assumption due to the weird vision issues lately all the clomid like color flashes.
Thanks for your input. 210 5'10 is pretty lean if your under 8%
AnonHaha! Good point. I have realized over time that being small until I was in my mid 20's was a blessing. I know more people that were a 2 piece in HS that are fat now than I do ones who have built up to 260 and stayed lean, that's for sure.
Hypersomnia? Never heard of that one before....but not surprising as there are a ton of different sleep disorders. There's a lot about sleep that is simply unknown man. It can be a very frustrating problem, as I'm sure you know. The docs can't always pinpoint the problem or even provide a diagnosis, let alone the correct one.
Hope things get better for you, bro. Hit me up if you learn anything new and want to share. I have had parasomnias for years and never knew that it was apnea. Always curious what other's experiences are.
Peace
