Is 8 hrs of sleep 8 hrs of sleep no matter the time you go down or does circadian clock really make a difference ?
What are your schedules ?

I take 5 benydryl every night. When I wake up I wake up. Most of the time 6 or 7... Doesn’t matter what time I go to bed.

You should really consider to stop using anticholinergic medication on a regular basis, as it may massively increase your risk to develop dementia later on (rf. https://www.bmj.com/content/bmj/361/bmj.k1315.full.pdf).

Yes I know... It runs in my family any how so I’m probably fucked.

Have you perhaps considered some nootropics to at least somewhat counter their impact? Acetylcholine sources such as Alpha GPC and Citicoline CDP come to mind; you could take them immediately upon waking in order to replenish your acetylcholine levels. Dementia sucks. :-/

I’m not familiar with it

Used to work at a club from 10pm to 6am, then 7am-1pm at a school, slept for 5 hours, then gym, family stuff, and work again. Zero(small) gains even while on cycle and with my mouth full of food all the time. After a year stopped my night job out of exhaustion, and boom my body changed right in front of me in a matter of weeks. I take sleep very seriously since then.

It depends on the quality of sleep. There are many variables that interfere and/or wake you during your time sleeping. Which deceases the quality of sleep and recovery.

Actually - 8 hours sleep is not a big myth. Here's is an interesting article on sleep:

Huh that 90 min sleep cycle is interesting.

My work hours suck. I usually sleep 4 hours before work and then 4 hours after. I just make sure I get 8 hours one way or the other
