For those of you with home gyms what order would you place your favorite equipment /best investments
Oly barbell
Bench and squat rack
Curl bar
All i got and all i need
I had a look on the Largest Gym equipment retailers site today in the U.K, and literally everything is sold out - Only things left were 1kg discs and 5 Grand multigyms Lol Simply unheard of to see them baron of stock. The Supplement sector also must be making massive sales too atm - Just think of all the people who will have taken up exercising due to it being one of the only reasons you are allowed out of your home other than shopping!
I love having a home gym and when i decided to do it i said im gonna do it how i want so i went balls deep, with the 1” rubber floor to the leg press machine. The blowflex hvt machine in the back corner is the wifes after i got done it all turned out great and i was happy with the spacing and placement of machines in the pic up front by the leg press is adjustable dumb bells on a stand kind of hard to see.

Yep your setup is sweet rdy for that lockdown for sure.
And those mats they really tie the room together lol
Yes I agree with press nice setup.
Thanks brothers!!!!!in my pic section my first pic is of the basement setup and theres two pics and the other is before i put up the cable cross over and a different angle of the room.
Out of curiosity bud - What are the actual dimensions of that room for you to be able to get all that in? Is that a seated chest press in the bottom right or a utility bench, can't quite make it out.
I'd love a leg press and cable cross over machine like that
That room is bigger but the rubber floor layed out is 24’ x 18’ it pretty much took the whole room theres only a bit behind the pic thats not shown and the machine in the bottom right is a seated leg ext/curl machine and behind that in the pic is the wifes bowfles hvt machine. The cable cross over wasnt bad to bring in and set up but the leg press machine was a beast to set up hahahaha basic tools to set up everything but every piece on the leg press/ hack squat was heavy and bulky as hell hahaha.
Hey mate - Niiice set up!!
Love the Bane picture ....
That picture was so damn hard to find in that size brother i found it everywhere in a smaller size but wanted a bigger one since the wall it was going on was bigger i wanted it to look some what decent haha when i found it in that size bro i was so pumped hahaha.gotta love the home gyms ive seen some pics of others that are set up nice as well bro.
One day hopefully soon I will be able to afford all the necessary stuff to make a home gym. Must be nice, I salute you fellas for having this stuff, yall have made some good choices...
AnonGarage sells bro. I bought some 50lb dumbbells for 5 bucks. They were rusted so I cleaned the rust off with steel wool then wiped them down with a little gun oil, they've looked nice for years.
If you get a big jug of vinegar and soak those for two days it should take care of the rust.
Start small and eventually you will have all the tools you need
Currently have a squat rack with pullup and dip.
Also adjustable bench
2 Olympic flat bars
Little over 450 pounds of 2" plates
200 pounds of 1" plates .
From 5 to 75 pound dumbbells.
A huge tractor tire fir flipping
1" rope about 20' in oak tree
Press1 if you read this
No I'm not in any danger of bending my bars.
Edit : I really want a leg press
Lol
Have you noticed an improvement in your shins with the soda bottle trick?
Lot better. And my back is great full.
I got a little min bench press set up with standard 45lb bar and a curling bar as well
Standard Olympic weights as well
You need to get some more weight son
Ha. I took off some weight to do curls with the bar. But. Over all yea. I do need more more weights
I have
45x2
35x3
25x2
10x4
5x2
2.5x2
AnonMy top 5
1 dumbbells
2 doorway pullup bar
3 bench
4 a bar with at least 100lbs worth of plates
5 resistance bands
I got a few other things but those 5 I value the most. My home gym is growing 1 garage sell at a time lol
Good thread. We should post pics of our faves
I have other stuff but I’d say my orders correct
Are these the old original nautilus machines
Almost all of them are first and second gen machines.
Those some of the best machines ever made ...sick bro
What is your address I need a place to workout...
All of my free weights, dumbbells and plate loads are in the basement.
The machines are in the garage.
The only one I have over 400 bucks in is the
70 degree with a super stack.
Most of this stuff was bought off gov deals.
Omg if I had the extra room
What’s on the wish list
I literally have:
A Powerack with chin bar/dipping handles
Squat Suspension slings
A Fixed flat bench (A strong adjustable one would be better for most)
A Seperate Dipping station
2 7ft Bars / EZ Bar
25kg plates and a dozen 20's etc
You can do everything with that minimal set up if you just want to concentrate on building your strength.
Then it really comes down to how much space you have - I'd love a leg press, seal bench, hyperextension but simply don't have the extra room required for it all.
The one thing that takes up more room than you expect is the 7 ft bar, always remember you need another foot ideally either side of it to get plates on and off. Fixed dumbells from 20's to 60's would be pretty cool too if you can afford them.
Combined -
Dip/pull up station
Dip belt (used for weighted pull ups too)
Punch bag
4 x 25 litre water containers for weight
The set up cost me no more than £60 as I found a lot online.
I haven’t decided weather to run a full body training program or follow a split but as I have more fun mixing it up I’ll probably do circuits off all variations.
What’s yours?
Think I’d say my first purchase was chin up bar then bench and rack and bar and plates
I also bought the toasters! (power blocks)which are actually pretty handy also like the dip bar attachment and with that basic stuff I’ve came across like 300 extra pounds of plates from ppl buried in their garages
